      I received a CarFax email telling me that I was overdue on services. I'm not.

      Since the CarFax email stated they were sending it on behalf of my dealership, I called them first. The service agent said that they have no control of how CarFax gets information nor what they do with it. Apparently they worked some drug deal with Honda headquarters.

      I filed a complaint with CarFax, which wan't easy. When I tried to "report a problem," they required me to fill in all of my demographic and vehicle information. So, I backed out and used their "contact customer support" link, and I am waiting to here from their Consumer Affairs people.

      What recourse do I have when their actions devalue my vehicle?

      I sincerely hope that the modern day society starts to realize that carfax is just another company high-jacking money, offering subpar, and likely inaccurate information. Their reporting system is extremely flawed and they fail on every level to fix inaccuracies. Their customer service is email based only and the representatives are without basic knowledge regarding communication. I am flabbergasted that CARFAX is who society has decided to ok to make decisions of their own.

      They are the worse company in America. They take our money and never pay. They argued with our mechanic for 4 hours and told him to charge us for the time.. No auto repair company wants anything to do with them. We are cancelling our policy. As far as we are concern they should not be allowed to do business in America.

      Carfax, a few days after I bought the truck, sent me over two email notices stating that they had reduced the price over $2000 from what I paid for it. The VIN #: 1GTG5EEN5N1164539.
      Apparently Carfax did not know or realize that I had bought the truck with the same VIN # and paid more than $2000 more than their reduced price. I believe that I have been cheated by Carfax, who should have known of the price reduction when I bought it but did not tell me. I think that I have been overcharged by Carfax. My own personal opinion is that Carfax has cheated me out of over $2000. There was also a safety recall on this truck that I was not told about.

      There has been an error on my Carfax report about my title, but my title is clean (not branded)

      As a result, I cannot sell my car.

      There is no Carfax number to call and they don't return my email inquiry.

      Untrustworthy!
      Can you smell it? Something fishy? Yeah I can
      Right after my vehicle is out of warranty mistakes are being made on my carfax report. Incomplete records and inspections. Fix them but still happening. Report was spot on for 4 years while my truck was still under warranty but hit that magic number and oooops...
      No there is no major damage to my vehicle nor are they reporting there is. It is the maintenance and inspection reports that started going wrong and having me send in copies to get records corrected. Carfax should be paying me to correct the mistakes. I took pride in knowing my vehicle was perfect, now I know it's an incorrect report just as any other.
      For a business to charge customers money to view inaccurate vehicle reports is a scam and a crime. Bottom line

      Absolutely despicable company. Carfax report on my vehicle is wrong. Showed airbag deployment from a minor rear end collision that only required work to a rear quarter panel. Insurance company provided proof that no airbags were ever deployed, worked on, replaced. Wasn’t enough. Carfax also responded on average once ever 36 hours, redacted info that I needed to fix this issue, and also redacted the “proof” they say they have that airbags deployed. Now, they have stopped responding altogether. The mistake on their report is currently going to cost me 6 thousand dollars. Only way for public to contact them is email. They say they have a live chat which is a flat out lie. This company needs to get sued into bankruptcy

      Carfax is publishing false information on my carfax report. My carfax is stating my vehicle was in an accident in 2018 with airbag deployment. The incident that occurred was solely cosmetic damage after backing into a tree resulting in a back bumper and tail light needed to be replaced. My report now says there was air bag deployment. When attempting to contact carfax the only communication can be done via email which they only respond to once a day. Car fax is requesting the police report be amended to resolve this issue. There was never a police report filed therefore there is nothing to amend. I have provided this company with numerous amounts of information from my insurance company stating there was no air bag deployment nor any airbag sensors or other parts replaced along with the pay out invoice. They have now stopped responding to me. This is causing the value of my vehicle to go down by 6 thousand dollars. They also stated they are not responsible for the publication of false information. So they are aware they do this but will take no responsibility to correct their mistakes. This is one of the worse companies I have ever dealt with and their customer service is horrendous.

      You should have ZERO STARS for Carfax. My wifes car had rodent damage to the wiring. The wiring harness was replaced. Somehow Carfax got that information and it shows up on a Carfax report on my wifes car as "DAMAGE REPORTED." My insurance company says they did not report that to Carfax and the Toyota Dealership says they did not report it. How did Carfax get that information and why would it be on a Carfax report. My wife is trying to trade the car at a Toyota dealership and the salesman says your car has been in an accident. That automatically drops the trade in value. What the hell is the difference between changing a wiring harness and changing a generator. It's a mechanical repair stupid. Carfax should be sued and the BBB should drop their rating to ZIPPO...
