Program was terrible. Disorganization at the outgoing airport where they had no record of my child registered for his school's trip; he was one of a group of 60 and thankfully we had a record of his payments and all of the confirm emails they had sent! A chaperone had to be removed from his tour because of inappropriate behavior toward some of the girls on the trip. Finally, their return flight was canceled with 60 students stranded at an airport and I was the one who made them aware! On the phone they assured me the flight was "underway" and I told them they needed to check again - after insultingly telling me to use ****** flight tracker, they realized their mistake and then proceeded to tell me that it was the airline's fault and NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO GET MY CHILD HOME. So yeah our school isn't dealing with the company anymore and I highly recommend no parent sends their child in the care of this company. We should have done more research first. They are so bad they are to the point of being dangerous.

Went on a ************* trip with my son through his middle school April of 2023. The ** was broken on the bus and we had over 80 degree temperatures. The windows didnt open. The ** finally got fixed on the last day of the trip. The tour guide took us on a tour of the *** memorial in the dark and most of the memorial isnt lite. She told us we could go to the ********************. When we arrived they told us you needed to reserve passes ahead of time. The passes were sold out for the day. We spent 25 minutes walking there. With a limited amount of time we didnt get to see a museum of our choice and we rushed through a different nearby museum. There were no discussions of recent historical events like the January 6th riot. She said she couldnt get political even though she told us twice that her sister worked under the ******************** in the White ****** Never use this tour / travel company.

2023 ** DONT DO IT!!!!!! KIDS treated like ANIMALS!!!Few bathroom breaks, they will make your kid take a red eye flight then tour all day & wont stop until 10 pm, food is not great & not much choices, not enough time to eat! Teachers take best rooms, best seats on bus & eat first, do what they want. Everyone else treated like animals with no opinion. **************** spouses will have full access to your kid 24/7 & teacher husband constantly flirting with 2 teen girls, kids were screamed at for sitting, denied breaks & water, treated like DIRT. NEVER AGAIN!!! Too many people in group & too many stops with just 30 minutes to see an entire museum. ******* was rude & mean to ************** alike & wont let you go to the restroom & will scream at your exhausted child while denying them water or sit breaks

We were a group of 32 traveling from ***** to *****, ************** We originally opted to pay more to fly from ********, but Explorica let us know a mere six weeks before our departure (when it was conveniently too late for a full refund) that they had been unable to secure a flight from *********** ***** (because they waited too long and/or were unwilling to pay for the flights they had promised) and booked us through JFK with a seven-hour bus ride! We didn't arrive at our hotel in ***** until 5:00 PM and we had to rush through the city on foot in the couple of hours we had before dinner. The food at most restaurants was ok but not enough and most of our kids had to buy more food later. Two of the dinners were substituted because Explorica made reservations changes; the first because they scheduled our flight to Milan during the dinner hour - they offered us $10EU each for dinner at the airport, but our fabulous tour director ******** got everyone $15EU instead, still equal to the multiple-course, sit-down group meal they had promised. Then Explorica booked our ******* visit at a student discount rate, which requires us to have lunch there, so to save money on the entrance fees Explorica made us have a sit-down meal - which was good and substantial - but before an hours-long, in-depth tour which normally would be awesome but not when you're tired and full! Then the kids had to pay for their own dinner later. The *********** in ***** was ok with a good breakfast, but the second hotel in ************ Lodi, was literally the WORST - dirty, bedbugs, mold, loud, poor breakfast, rude staff. the Parco ********** in **** was fantastic, so that made up for some of the rest. What really made our trip was ******** - we all had a great time and rolled with the punches, but it was really ******** that made everything go as well as it did!

One of the WORST experiences of my life as a chaperone and my child's life. This company allowed 13 year olds to be sleep deprived, waking them up at 6am and not returning them to the hotel till almost midnight every night. No down time, no rest, no socializing allowed with each other as friends. That was just cruelty, that was not educational. A full day of exploration would be from 9am to 6pm at the latest, not 6am till midnight. It was borderline abusive and filled with threats to the children about sending them home and lecturing them multiple times a day. Imagine walking ****** steps daily after not sleeping all night from a 12 hour red-eye the first day. The kids were not even allowed to check in at the hotel before hauling them out all day after not sleeping all night. They were not even allowed to shower for over 24 hours. The food was also absolutely horrible, all junk food. The girls were not allowed to return to the hotel to rest or have any downtime and Worldstrides left the itinerary up to a mom (not a teacher or anybody with any educational experience) to jam pack the day with endless trips rather than allowing the girls time at each museum/exhibit to explore and enjoy. It was all about quantity rather than quality. It was all about cramming as much as possible and making the students walk over ****** steps per day rather than truly taking their time to learn and explore while rested. Shame on this company, would never recommend it to anyone, not to mention how expensive it was and making me pay full fare as a chaperone for absolutely very little value. I am sure there are better companies out there for reasonable educational trips, save your money and never go through Worldstrides.

I trusted Explorica because of the school's. I paid over a thousand dollars and the trip is scheduled two years away. I had to cancel three months after due to a financial situation and was only supposedly going to get five hundred dollars back! It has been four months fixing to be 5 months that I have received my refund. I keep getting the run around that the check is being expedited in one week yet have not received anything! No phone calls back as promised. No correspondence. No letters. Nothing. Then when asking to speak with a supervisor or manager I am being denied stating one isn't available! I got one email and have responded multiple times with no responses! SCAM!!! Not sure how to get my money back but reported it to the better business bureau, attorney General, and also seeking legal advice from an attorney! Definitely wouldn't even rate them one star!

I loved world strides!! Everything went very smoothly for my school and I. We met some very great people along the way including the tourists and bus drivers. Everything was so well organized! If I could go back I definitely would! No regrets whatsoever!! Thank you worldstrides! ????

Id like to share our specific experience with WorldStrides, in case its helpful for anyone else considering whether to allow their child to go on one of their trips. We just returned from an 8th grade school trip to DC. After reading the reviews here, we were apprehensive but also didnt want our child to miss out on this experience with his classmates. For extra caution, both us parents purchased trips for us to join the school group, and also got the extra trip cancellation insurance, due to the negative reviews here. The trip turned out to be wonderful, overall. While the flights werent perfect (with layovers) we were given meal vouchers to use during the layovers; the hotel was very nice (BonVoy branded Marriott with clean modern rooms - perhaps understaffed and the walls may be slightly thin so that you could hear the elevator or maybe someone coughing elsewhere etc. but cleanliness and modern updated furnishings was nice after a long day of sightseeing); they had friendly greeters at the airports and at the hotel; an interesting and well-informed tour guide; and an adaptable and adept bus driver with a large comfortable charter bus (not absolutely spotless or updated but cleanly kept/well maintained with USB chargers above each seat). We were also fortunate to have a great school chaperone team who has been on WorldStride trips for many, many years. We did have to cancel one parents trip just 2 days before and the refund will be issued within the next 30 days (less the insurance fee). There were some oddities with them emailing early to require payment before the official due date, but their customer service reps were responsive when we asked about the issue. Also, during our flight and at our destination the majority of the other large student tour groups were also from WorldStrides, which was further reassuring that they are large company with sufficient resources to coordinate so many groups.

We spent 14k on 4 of us to go and it was A JOKE!! Grant ******** twins had fun socializing with friends from school, and seeing sites. However, the first hotel had bed bugs and the second hotel put us on 5 different floors and there was NO real security in the hallways for all the floors (hallway chaperone). They had powdered eggs and the SAME breakfast everyday...no local authentic food. It was SOOO rushed you only saw a 5 second snippet of A LOT of things...but never actually enjoyed any 1 thing long enough. Some of the "guides" were ******************, and/or clueless!! TOTAL $$ scam....charge the most & give the least in this program!!
