Horrible services, work occasionally, takes days for pictures to go through. Called customer service about a pending message which typically don’t take longer than 2 minutes it’s been over 3 hours. Was told an officer has to approve them. Asked for a supervisor, said he would transfer me and then just hung up on me. Ridiculous. How are we suppose to communicate with such crappy services. The fact that this place has been in business this long with the rating it has is appalling to me. Half the time the app doesn’t work and when it is they are just taking money for messages and pictures that never go through.

While the account worked well for months, Getting Out/Telmate suddenly decided to block account access to try to force people to agree to their new terms, which entitle them to take account holders’ money after a certain period of inactivity. Instead, an error code directed me to call Telmate. When I did, I discovered that there’s no way to talk to an agent without agreeing to Telmate’s new terms. I called on another phone, that is not associated with a Getting Out or Telmate account, and I asked for a refund. A Telmate Customer Service Supervisor said that Telmate would not issue a refund until I called using the phone associated with the Getting out/Telmate account. However, there is no way to call and talk to a Customer Service Agent from this number to request the refund, without first consenting to their terms, as the automated system does not allow the call to continue without consent. They are effectively refusing to refund money unless you consent to terms you never agreed with. How is this legal? This is theft.

Connect Network website always had the Messaging service where we would be able to communicate back in forth with our inmates. We were able to send pictures via our cell phones. All of a sudden messaging services are no longer available as the company now is in transition with another company ViaPath. I just called customer service and the guy I talked to had no clue what was going on or what happened to the messaging service. I was told none of us would be refunded for our credits we paid for. I said, that is totally unfair and illegal to take our money because your company is in transition with another one. It's funny that the inmate can send us a message from the new system (I believe its www,gettingout.com but we all try to reply to the messages and are told we don't have any funds. We try to deposit money into this new account and it just says "LOADING". Customer service is not good. I asked to speak to a manager, and he hung up on me. I want to be able to message and send pictures - the inmates look forward to these and now they have no communication with their family/friends. Please get us help NH Northern Correctional Facility in Berlin NH

Company has a contract with the FLORIDA DEPT of CORRECTIONS and is charging more than the contract stiputlates.
Contract stipulates 13.5 cents per minute and 99 cents service charge to load the money. There is a nebulus "tax" that is charged after every call. Note: company prior to this contract never had "tax"
refer to page 56 of the contract with FDOC

I don't know how it's possible to be an A+ accredited company on BBB with the poor and horrible customer service. You have to register with this company to be able to communicate with an incarcerated individual. The first thing the company does is ask for a credit card and makes you check a box stating that they are allowed to charge your card for any fee due to using their website. What? Just give my credit card information to a company and they can charge whatever they want and I should be okay with that? They also say that you can send a letter to an inmate. I wrote 20 letters and not one was scanned and sent via an ipad to the inmate. Then they tell you they don't do that service. I have to find out from the jail that they are in charge of making sure the letters are scanned and they used another company to do that job. After 4 weeks, no letters were ever scanned. I didn't lose my credit card information. They have horrible customer service. Don't bother trying to work with this company for anything. They should be out of business.

I am 71 years old. I was trying to put money on my sons phone account for him to call me from jail. I saw that the phone number they had for me was an old land line from 19 years ago. I tried to put in my current phone number I’ve had for the last 8 to 10 years, and it wouldn’t accept my current number. So I called the number to get help. I supplied the information needed, but was told I would have to file some sort of paperwork saying this was my number.

I’ve lost money before using this same company.

The people who are suppliers to help you are rude and argumentative.. and hang up on you if you don’t understand whatever it is they’re telling you to do. They do not help you AT ALL, they blame you for not understanding and then hang up.

Customer service is deplorable. I will never use this company again. I think they cheat people out of money.

They have two apps one for messaging inmates and one for video calls. Neither of them work right 99% of the time. They charge you money to be able to send messages and use video calls when they never connect or send at all. No one has any idea how to fix it or right out refuses to admit there is a problem with it. The apps need to be way better to function correctly. If I'm paying to send messages it should make it to them an not freeze or sign me out or say I have no contacts. Extremely ridiculous. Video calls won't even work an just tells the inmate that you dont have the app. You have to keep getting verified over and over again practically every week just to use the app. I don't know how you can charge people money to contact their loved ones when it almost never works ever an it'd Extremely upsetting to you and your loved one when you try to call eachother or message an it won't go through. Heartbreaking to have loved ones need you an you not be able to be there for them cause of the horrible app that needs a major upgrade an steals your money won't let you. Fix the app or give me all the money I have sent my loved one.

This company is a a complete disgrace. they scammed me out of $165 and wasted countless hours of my time- their customer service is horrible.
I used a kiosk to put money on an inmate account that was never received by the inmate. I called and they verified it was never posted to the inmate account but drafted out of my bank account. They agreed to issue me a refund, and to wait 4 weeks. Four weeks came and went I called them. They said the refund was still being processed and to wait another two weeks to weeks came and went. I called back. They suggested I wait another week.
At that point I spoke to a supervisor, Ivan. He stated that he had records that showed the money was posted to the inmate account in the first place. I argued with him back-and-forth that it wasn’t and that the last three times I had called I was told each time that the funds were never posted and that they were going to escalate the refund. Ivan basically told me there was nothing he could do and hung up on me. Do yourself a favor and do not use this company. It’s a complete scam. They should be investigated and shut down for fraud.

I just looked at the BBB rating for this business and it's false. This business DOES NOT have an A+ rating. Out of over 500 complaints, only 230-something ish has been resolved. That means the majority of the issues / complaints HAVE NOT BEEN RESOLVED.
Just a quick note: When I attempted to leave a voicemail for my husband, I got a recording stating that the IDR is disabled at the facility he is in. When I Googled IDR for government entities, it has to do with their payment system. So, we are paying for a service that the facility is not paying for and this is the only option they are giving us ...... And to make matters worse, neither the facility nor the business is accepting responsibility for their (lack) of actions in correcting the issues that has so many family members (and inmates) furious.
ViaPath is also known as GTL Telmate and Global Connect Network. They also have a video visiting application that is also poor quality. Now, the grand finale ...... they hack your phone to view you on your camera and tap into your mic ... even if you block those permissions! Can someone say "Consititutional Violation"?
