      I would absolutely give 0 stars if I could! I called to cancel my subscription to the Athens Banner Herald and was told there would be no more charges to my credit card. Low and behold I was charged again! I then contacted my credit card company and filed a dispute. The charge was removed. I thought at this point is was taken care of. Nope. I was once again charged. I have called the number they give for subscription services and that didn't work. I emailed the local office, but again to no avail. This has to be the worst company ever. I have no idea how to stop these charges!

      I contacted Journal Star and Even Gannett customer service regarding a repeated failure to deliver just one Sunday Edition of Journal Star. As months went by I felt so defeated dealing with inept CSR’s that provided no results but a lot of chatter and scripted promises. I can’t believe what a joke this company has become. I cancelled and then I got the final whammy in the gut. They do not provide refunds. This is known as stealing. They stole $74.95. Check # 15562. Notice date 2/27/2023
      Paid in March 2023. Today is July 8 and my patience ran out.

      Unfortunately, a NEGATIVE STAR RATING ISN'T AN OPTION!!!

      The Arizona Republic has the worst customer service I have ever received. I have reported missed deliveries every day for the past 2 months and each time I contact them I am given the same scripted response, "This will be escalated to our district manager", "Please allow us 48 hours to correct the problem", "We will issue your account for the days missed and another $10 the inconvenience", "I understand your frustration..."

      The credits they bribe you with are worthless, empty promises because you CAN NEVER get your paper delivery anyways!

      Its a shame that this longstanding company has let their reputation go down hill so much. Elderly customers want a hard copy and 'online access' means nothing to them. It's a wonder anyone would even keep trying to give them business anymore.

      My elderly mother paid for a full year subscription on 10/20/22. She has been getting a monthly bill the last four months. Even though she paid through October 2023!! Every month we make a phone call to Post Crescent and the foreign customer service person as well as their ‘supervisor’ “guarantees” they will stop sending monthly bills. And every month the bills keep coming. Very very poor customer service! We do not have time for this every month. My daughter helps with these bills and she is very busy. How do I get these bills to stop?!!? Acct # PC0005058.

      I canceled g a n n e t digital online newspaper 8 months ago, they have been calling me ever since to try to renew my prescription which I do not want. Now they just build my bank for $29.52. I called them and ask them why they billed me and they said I never canceled my subscription well if I didn't why are they calling me to give me two to three months free to renew it? They are stealing money out of my checking account

      They are the same company to Reach Local and Local Iq. In my opinion they only want your money and cannot produce the services. Worse company I have ever worked with. You may as well give your money to donation than this company. DO NOT ADVERTISE EVER WITH THEM !

      LIf you read complaints or experiences most these are about over charging, lies about charges, not cancelling properly therefore making you pay
      Promises n offers just to get your payment even if unauthorized after the first one.

      Bought 3 month special about a buck a week ... i think 13$ for 13 weeks of weds n sun

      I wrote on my calendar to call on 10th week to cancel
      I called to cancel and the person in a foreign country said the special price he continued to six months.

      I called at six months and the person not in the usa said my price special continues until i cancel. He actually said the special price is ongoing until i cancel.

      We continued to get paper twice a week.

      Then ... six months after the first special ended... according to their records.
      at about ten months they send me statement notices for hundreds of dollars as now they are charging full price for last six months and demanding more fees

      When i called it was frustrating, first... cancelling the paper is like my internet dial up of the 90s... long hold times and not really cancelled even with confirm numbers.
      I negotiated to cut the huge bill in half... but its still about 3 times the special price.

      We know the newspapers are broke n losing money, i suggest not supporting this business activity as there are many complaints about this papers billing or charging amounts and ways of creating statements etc.

      If buying their special price offers, i suggest you send in writing that they are to cancel when these terms over. Pay only by money order or their check, not cc, debit or checking that they can get to your funds over n over.
      Do not believe they are cancelling ever.
      We argued for non payment but they delivered unauthorized papers at not agreed on prices and then demand what they now claim is my bill.
      I had to pay. The call in center does not transfer to supervisors or usa. They pay people n another country to demand money for papers i did not authorize to buy in the first place.

      Received letter 2/13/23 that rate was going from $14.73 to $24.70. Called to cancel. They agreed to keep rate at $14.73.in March I was charged $24.70. Called they said next month I would be charged $4.76. April I was charged $14.73. Called they said They would extend my subscription to June 12th to make up charge error. Called to cancel 5/17 and let it run out thru June 12th they said it would end May 26th thats all I had coming. DONE with Beacon Journal they have NO customer service!!

      I have recently been trying to inquire about renewing my 83 yr old mother's local newspaper subscription. Have called the local number twice and left messages for callback both times. Absolutely no one has returned my calls over the course of two weeks. I even tried the number for Gannett News (newspaper owner), only to find that it simply ends the call when you attempt to access available options (like to speak to a representative), Having now read the multiple negative reviews on Gannett on this site, I am happy that we last paid by check and not credit card. Sounds like they regularly take advantage of charging customers for no or extremely poor customer service. I will not be renewing this subscription. Buyer beware!
