We have been customers of the Kent Ravenna Record Courier for 45 years with very little problems. . Ever since it has been purchased by your company we have had nothing but trouble: exorbitant prices, little content (especially local content,) no accurate billing to show when and if we have been credited for lack of delivery.
One of the more disturbing problem is the lack of customer service. The representatives are polite although very difficult to understand due to their thick accents. They reply with a standard answer saying they will help us with our problem, even to report our problem to a district manager who never ever has gotten in contact with us! Do any exist? Plus only one phone number listed or offered to contact your newspaper.
Now, for the number one reason of this note is the fact that we can't get our paper delivered to our house. We have called for months. Everyone days "no problem. We will help you."THEN NO ONE EVER DOES! "We will credit your account." Then there is no evidence of that!
Please delivery our paper to Richard or Janet B*** **** ***** ***** ******** ** *****. I would also like a written statement of our account showing credits for non delivery! Thank you Janet B***

Beware of illegal charges from The Naples Daily News. I ordered The Naples Daily News delivered during our five week vacation in Naples. My online account clearly stated the beginning and end dates. No papers were delivered after I cancelled. They continued to charge my credit card for the entire year.
I have made five calls with no success. Their supervisor said it is their policy and could only return the carrier's tips if the carrier agreed. I did not ask for the carrier's tips to be returned.
My neighbors on both sides order The Naples Daily News. When they go on vacation, they cancel their delivery and are not charged.

Appalled that my reinstated newspaper delivery after a couple of years off, that things couldn't be worse! Terrible delivery so I have had to call every couple of days to report that there is no paper. The content now that is local is so limited that very little is local news. Since ********* purchased the paper it has become a worthless rag and I will soon be cancelling.Negative star here. -0

I have been fighting to get one paper since September of 2022. I have recieved none of it and it is January 2023. After 22 emails no one cares. Ten phone calls no one cares. I will fight till I get my full year money back! But don't subscribe because you won't get any papers or customer service!

The Gannett Company which produces the Shelby Star is unethical and has bad business practices. I ask on multiple occasions for my subscription to be cancelled and my debit card was still charged $10.66 and if The Shelby Star aka Gannett Company continues true to form I will not be refunded my money. I spoke to their representative, Isaiah and then to his supervisor, Sebastian and to a customer service representative, Icee. I was told that my concerns will be looked into but I don't hold out much hope. That's unethical. A word to the wise do not do business with the Shelby Star because all they want is your money and they (The Shelby Star aka Gannett Company) does NOT give good customer service. I did not receive a call back when I tried to put my husband's obituary in the obituary section of the newspaper (this was 2021) so that his friends in Shelby would know that he passed away. I can see why the Shelby Star aka Gannett Company is not accredited with the Better Business Bureau. They do NOT exemplify good business practices.

Customer Service is terrible. After being dissatisfied with the paper, it has taken me 5 attempts to cancel! There is no place to cancel on the website; when I called, the representative told me that is purposely done so that a call HAS to be made in order to have a conversation with a representative (so that you can be talked out of cancelling)! I was given a cancellation date and told that I would not be charged further. However, my credit card WAS charged and the paper kept coming. It has taken 4 additional attempts to get to a point that I was finally told that it would take 30 days to process my refund and yet my paper has continued to come as recently as this morning! I called again today. This is a scam.

You would think that a newspaper that wants to keep the news in print and not just e-news would be able to deliver a paper to people that are willing to pay for delivery. This is apparently not the case, I have been trying since October of 2022 to get them to deliver a paper to my home and as of yet not received 1 copy. I have emailed and called multiple times and have been reassured that the issue would be resolved. That is not the case. I guess they really don't care about the keeping the presses running and should just layoff that portion of its workforce and save money that way instead of taking money for a subscription service and not delivering.

If I could give this company a 0 I would. I will never ever give a penny to subscribe. My carrier retired mid December 2022 and after that I never got my paper. I called the newspaper customer service and their usual promises to get it delivered failed. I’ve talked to 4 people in come godly foreign country…I’m sorry, I understand, I’ll make sure it gets to the higher up, I’ll get it delivered, blah, blah blah. Still don’t have my final paper for today as they promised. Looks like another call. Don’t take my money if you can’t deliver on your promise. I better see that cancellation on Jan 5 , 2023 and not be charged and see my credits for no delivery. Shame on you Indianapolis Star.

This is the 3rd complaint. My 95 year old mother is NOT receiving her newspaper. We pay for the paper for her. She does NOT HAVE A COMPUTER. Service is horrible. Delivery is horrible. My mother depends on the newspaper. We are tired of paying for services that are not received. We should be reimbursed for all of the undelivered papers (in excess of 40). What is the problem. Other people on her street (Chew Rd. Mansfield, OH). Gannett is a very bad newspaper. If it were not for the fact that our mom depends on the paper we would cancell her subscription. Please have Gannett rectify this issue. Please have them contact her immediately
