We set up accounts to apply for an auto loan. We planned on switching banks as well. To apply for an auto loan requires communicating through messages on their website. We applied at night on the 18th and were sent a denial on the 20th. With excellent credit, very low debt to income, no loans etc.. DENIED! had to wait for a letter to explain in the mail that was vague. I finally found out after nearly begging that for 2 weeks it was a copy of my driver's license that was missing although they had received everything else. What is weird is I verified with a customer service agent that they received everything. If you want to dispute, you can reapply. Lol They were not interested in our business. I regret even thinking about banking with them. The customer service supervisor escalated the situation, she stuck to her guns and said we didn't get the documentation to them within 48 hours. Unreal!

Wouldn’t even give them 1 star.
I had to pull money out of my 401k for medical expenses and to help cover rent and they REMOVED AND TRANSFERRED 2,000 from MY ACCOUNT to help pay for a credit card.
I literally have no way of funding the things I need to live and they think moving 2,000 from my checking account to pay a credit card is justified just because they can. Fucken joke man. This institution isn’t worth it. I have better service with USAA than I do with them. How am I supposed to pay for rent and my bills from when I was getting screened for cancer. Ridiculous. And then when I called to try and get reimbursed and put on a payment plan they said I can’t refund you but how would you like to pay for your loan. HOW WOULD I LIKE TO PAY FOR MY LOAN???????? I’m more concerned with how I’m going to pay for a roof over my head or medical bills or how am I supposed to live !!!! When you take money that isn’t even yours, just cause you can.
As someone who’s an Avid Advocate in the military community best believe when I tell you. I WILL make sure they use USAA more than NFCU. Y’all are a joke.

This bank has given me nothing but headaches. They have told me so many falsify information. I literally just transferred over from USAA to Navy Federal because I was told this bank took care of their customers. I did not see that at all. I recently applied for a career starter loan and I was given falsified information by several agents at this bank. One minute they say everything is good to go and i apologized for the misguided information and then not even a day later, they send me a message saying actually the document is right. I will never bank with this bank again. Definitely poor customer service and terrible wait times. I called about 5 times and waited 20-30 minutes each time to try and get this resolved and nothing was done. I will never bank here again.

Unreliable, Spiteful, Decietful, Disrespectful, Arrogant. Just a few words that can describe what Navy Federal has become since 2020. Bewarned if you have a credit card with them and report them to the BBB or CFPB they will shut your card down out of spite no matter how good of a standing your card is in, ie a perfect payment history and increased Credit scores and income.

I made a cash deposit of $750 at a co op atm. 7/15/2023 which is a Saturday. I didn’t know if would take 5 business days. I was told by multiple representatives and even a supervisor that my fund will be available 6am Friday (which is the 5th business) day because I was told Saturday is not a business day. Today I am going out of town and my funds still aren’t available and I am being told that they won’t be until Saturday. My money was taken and held for going on a whole week now. Why have co op atms if they are going to be a bigger burden to your customers? I have been told different things by different people.

I transferred money from an external account and call navy federal while the external bank was transferring. I spoke with a representative and told her that I was putting money in my savings account for the past due credit card. 2 days later the specialty dept took the money and put it toward another account and now my credit card is still past due. Navy federal is no help they was supposed to take off a late payment on my credit card bill and never did. I’m going to just close everything. I called several months before and told them I lost my job but they don’t care.

Terrible Customer Service. I thought my loan was paid but the payment was reversed. Simple mistake, and I paid as soon as I realized it. However, they are saying there is nothing they can do and that a 30 days late payment must be reported even though I know that they can remove it as a courtesy.
I have been a member since 2012 (13 years), this lack of respect for a long time Customer is baffling. I will be filing a credit dispute, leaving this review, and moving me and my family's accounts elsewhere. This is all in addition to them having little to no Branch Locations. Please avoid this Company at all costs

Fire everyone in the home squad department / underwriting. This also implies removing all those associated with those departments from the board, or from VP, or any other decision making position. The upper echelon in this department, sit around and make decisions, but don't have to deal directly with the member. Their slogans, "our members are our mission" "your success is our mission" and " we serve where you serve" , are straight up BS. I've been a member since 1993, I have taken out and paid off numerous loans, all ahead of schedule. My wife and I requested a home equity loan to purchase a commercial property. I'm a 22 year retired Navy Chief and she been a very successful business owner for over 20 years. We both have a credit score of over 760 and we have a 8 acre ranch that is valued over $900,000. We started the application back in 4/2023, my wife has sent all paperwork requested within the same day requested. Keshana Sullivan, didn't even check our package or emails to her for the paperwork requested. She just called and requested it again. We emailed Keshana Sullivan's direct supervisor Katie McArthur who didn't even have the common curtesy to return an email or call. We then went straight to her bosses and our loan package was passed off to another person in, what they call, the resolution center. The new person was just another employee who had to start everything over again. We finally had to purchase the property with our savings or we would have lost the opportunity. They made us feel like we where criminals. They are incompetent and have destroyed NFCU customer relationship. Read the comments on the BBB website and elsewhere to see what people think of you. Because they are more concerned with their precious "feelings" than fixing the issues that make people extremely angry. Especially as these issues can be directly traced back to their departments.

NFCU Has become the worst. Someone called them and made a false fraud report. And the real person called to let them know the transaction was legit.
They supposedly corrected and 0 out my account and 5 days later they put it in the negative after they state they would fix it because they say it was comprised. If you are a member the only way another member can send you money is if they put your account number as an internal account, they can't withdraw any funds they can only send money to you.. therefore how is it an unauthorized transaction if my account was funds, the only person who had access to the members account was them. Now 1 month later when I get off the phone with report in what was said to be collection dept, without authorization the person took 120. That was sitting in savings and put it in the checking. No one had done that before, and the person was in the savings information without my knowledge, I only verified the checking information.
So a person can send you money then claim fraud. And they don't do things correctly. Again if a member sends you money your account number is place in the member portion of their information and they are the ones who have access to their information so how is it fraud. And if it was not valid why did navy federal allow it to be available without checking, they supposed to send a message to the sending member to Validate before it becomes available. The fraud was claimed after a portion of the Validated funds were removed.
