I have been hijacked twice within a two month span by Navy Federal Credit Union ATM machines which fail to operate properly when making cash deposits. I'm left at the mercy of the Bank to provide some temporary provisional credit or actual credit which takes a couple of days as the Bank goes through its SOP. This leaves me with no confidence in depositing funds through the ATM and often I wondered if I can even trust the Bank employees to properly account for my hard earned dollars. Moreover, I'm task with taking extra measures to ensure transactions properly clear my account so that I don't encounter return check fees. I expect Banking institutions to provide safe and reliable machines to enable customers to conduct business having confidence that their transactions will be properly accounted for in a timely manner thereby avoiding any unnecessary anxiety or stress. Lastly, I often find many ATM machines that are not available or out of service which is unacceptable as it adds to the issue of reliability and confidence in the Bank's operation. This must be addressed by management immediately.

NFCU failed to mail me renewal credit cards in a timely manner. After I contacted them to find out where the cards where they said they must be lost. So they closed my entire credit card account. Now I cant use my current credit card that is still good for another month. I have to wait until they mail me a new card with a new number. Because it is a new card I now have to updated a lot of re-occurring accounts that use my credit card. The reps on the phone admit that when they send renewal credit cards they us the US Mail and do not have any tracking number. The rep asked if I had called the USPS to check on this piece of mail? Not sure what planet the rep is from but where I live no one can get in touch with the USPS. After 14 years of having this CC account I will be canceling my account and taking my business elsewhere. (also, NFCU likes to turn off your credit card when you travel and what a pain in the butt it is to turn it back on, while you are sitting at the gas pump trying to get gas on your trip!)

I have a 30-year VA-guaranteed mortgage loan with fixed payments with lender Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) since Summer 2020. Around the last week of DEC/2022, I received a letter from NFCU stating that beginning JAN/2023 my monthly payment would increase by almost seven hundred total escrow increase for this year, the reason for increase unclear. Also stated, I had until second week of January to pay the entire amount as an option to keep my payment from increasing. I mailed the full escrow increase payment before the January deadline to avoid the increase. A few weeks later I checked my mortgage to insure my monthly payment was still as originally agreed, but instead I saw it was increased to the new higher monthly payment. I immediately called NFCU and spoke with “Claudia.” After explaining the above, she just stated repeatedly that even with the full additional payment I had sent them, I still owed additional money, but she couldn’t provide a single logical reason for her absurd statement. I unequivocally asked to get everything explained in writing, but they have refused to date.

Complaint filed over 6 weeks ago with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, yet these dishonest company refuse to provide an answer after all this time. This is the kind of “honesty,” “competence” and “integrity” Navy Federal Credit Unions treats veterans, their customers, with.

I've been a navy federal customer for business and personal for some years. During covid was never offered any sba guaranteed loans or support during that time. Things were bad for business and this caused me to fall behind on my personal loan and credit card. Ended up settling with them to pay the behind accounts, this counts just as bad a not paying them in their books because now I'm blacklisted with them.

This is by far the worst credit union to bank or do business with. I’ve had my account with navy federal for years. I recently deposited checks into my business account from the IRS and they immediately closed my account and treated me like a criminal. They held my deposits for 23 days (which is against federal regulations) to verify my checks and once they verified my checks they informed me that they will not be releasing my funds because they suspect fraud and would not give me one reason that they suspected the fraud. The checks are from the U.S treasury so they could have easily been verified. I asked several times for the number to the corporate office and no one was ever able to give me a number. I feel like I was racially profiled and had I been a white guy depositing checks into my business account navy federal would have been happy to do business instead of treating me like a criminal.

Absolutely trash. I legitimately wanted to do business with NFCU being a veteran I like to stick to companyâ??s that stick to us. NFCU is not here for us. After becoming a member I tried for two weeks to open a business account to which their process is asinine. The instructions given the first time was wrong so I did right the second time and gave them 16 pages of supporting documentation which is everything that I was given I literally donâ??t have anything else but some how still wasnâ??t the right thing and unwilling to help or even understand. Not to mention they donâ??t offer any business services in the branch so you spend 45 minutes of your own time filling out the application only to be forced to spend another hour on the phone while they go over it. Mind you during the two weeks I opened up two other business accounts both of which took less than 15 minutes each no hassle no headache. I donâ??t recommend NFCU to anyone. USAA is a much better option for anyone. As soon as my direct deposit is changed back to my orginal Bank i will be closing all accounts with you and I will do my best to ensure as many others do the same as I can. Im disgusted that this institution is associated with Veterans. We deserve better.

The absolute highest rates on the market and the most strict lender overlay restrictions I’ve ever seen. Terrible turn around time

Horrible experience with two fraudulent transactions and Navy Federal has given me by far the worst customer service and solutions I’ve ever experienced. I wouldn’t recommend this credit union.
