Poor customer service they do not solve the problem or in 6 calls they all say something different and they do not give you the complete information to solve the problem

I have dealt with Capital One for a number of yrs. Always had a good experience with them. Until recently. During the pandemic I lost my job and was struggling to keep up with payments on both my credit cards that I had with them and my auto loan. A casualty of that struggle was I unexpectedly had one of my cards charged off and closed without notice. My other card was left in good standing and luckily I had been able to make a payment on it before the "unknown" deadline that caused my other card to be closed. My auto loan had been a rollercoaster of late and on time but I always kept ahead of any collection actions. So here I am with a card and auto loan in good standing and then comes the lawsuit for the card that was closed. I figured something like that would happen but never in my life seen that happen with anything like that so fast. It was only 6 months. I had no advance notice of any impending legal action over this. Just a summons to appear.... My second card was never behind for long and over time the card had expired. So I was curious why I wasn't issued a new one before the expiration. I never even received a notice of any issue. I called customer service and was told they were sorry for the mistake and a new card would be issued right away. I should see this card in just a few business days. After 2 weeks, I called to find out why I had not yet received it. I was told again, sorry for the mistake we will issue a new card and you will have it in a few days. Another 2 weeks go by and I call again. This time, I was routed over to an account supervisor who informs me that my charging privileges' have been declined due to the legal action that was brought against me on the other card. Meanwhile I was able to use that other card all the while before the expiration date. This type of treatment seems very shady and I am wondering how any company can treat any customer in that manner. I think I will use this text to file a complaint. Lets see where it goes...

(-5 Star ******* *************************** for fraud is by far the worst I have EVER dealt with. Waited on the phone for 40 minutes after being transferred 3 times until a recording says they were closed and call back during business hours. Before I transferred for the 3rd time, I asked what exactly is the problem or situation that I keep having to get transferred. The Capital representative stated "this not my department, if you can wait for a little bit longer I will transfer you over to the appropriate department". I hope this bank gets closed down for hiring incompetent employers.

Wanted to cancel my card after asking twice for a new one and never getting it, and was treated rudely when I wouldnt disclose where I work and how much I make. Cancel not resend or asking to up my credit! They said the govt requires that info my bank told me that was a lie! Stay away from this company! Got charged the yearly fee on an inactive card. So I see that as stealing too.

Worst bank Ever, can't make online purchases, can't use zelle, customer service will tell you they can't do anything. They hold your money hostage and then tell you to wait 24 hours to get it and the cycle continues, I seriously doubt I'll ever see the money in that account and I hope this company is gone soon, TERRIBLE! On July 18th I deposited a check for $21,340.90. On the same day, I received an email from Capital One stating that the check had clearedand it was okay for me to destroy it (please see attached) which I did. On July 21, 2022 I checked my account and found that I was negative $7,554.88. I immediately called Capital One and was told that the name on the check did not match the name on my account (the check had my married name added) and that I needed to submit a form for a name change and I did as instructed (see attached documents). I was told that it would take **** days for the update. I called on the 22nd for an update and was unsuccessful at getting any information even after spending 45 minutes on the phone. today, 7/24/22 I called for an update. I asked if it would help if I went into the branch and I was told no. I asked to speak to a supervisor and this is when I learned that they would not be reversing the check reversal. I was told that I would have to redeposit the check; the same check that I was told to destroy.Had CapitalOne simply refused the check initially, I would have just deposited it into another account and saved myself a lot of stress. Had the person on the 21st told me that they had returned the funds to the sender and could not reverse the reversal, I could have rectified this situation then.I spent hours speaking with representatives and was told alot ofthings regarding this transaction and I haveno idea what is accurate information,I think Capital One is a great online bank for the little things, but as far as not being able to go into the bank and talk to someone who can give you a correct answer, brick and mortarcan't be replaced.Extremely Disappointed,*************************************

Capital One specifically estimated the arrival time for my card as 7/19. Three business days later and no card. They even send me a message on the 19th asking if it's arrived. Well gee. It's a line of credit, shouldn't they know? Thinking something must be wrong since they seem to think I have it, I then download the app to track the card which shows a check **** on the shipped milestone and says estimated delivery is the 19th. Fearing that this confirms the card was supposed to be here already and is now stolen, I call customer service, as the app suggested to do when your card hasn't arrived yet. I get to talk to a robot. Very cool technology, but he has no options for asking if my card is supposed to be here. I selected missing and he said "card deactivated." After the robot has made the important decision for me with his two bit brain they decide to connect me to a live agent who doesn't have the power to overrule the robot's decision that the card is now deactivated. She says the card could get here today (it's nearly 8 hours since the mail came) or tomorrow but then says, thanks to the robot, the card won't be able to be used. I will have to wait for the replacement card, which comes in 4-6 business days, though I'll give them several more before calling again since the estimates seem to be off. She says they can speed it up to two days by adding a $16 fee. I ask her if she thinks Capital One will pay the fee to speed the replacement that only needs to be sent because their poorly programmed robot went off half wired and she responds no. As an IT professional I am rather horrified that their agent has no supervision. I appreciated the human I spoke with but that robot is the worst and he needs to be better programmed before he speaks with customers and very important moves like card deactivation need to be verified by a person or at least should have the option to be overturned by a human life form.

I had a capital one card for years! Paid off my debt many times. Sad to say that when I lost my job they made things difficult for me. I have every intention of paying my debt but they still wanted to charge me interest after I wanted to close my account and never use the card again. They are the only bank that gave me problems with closing my account and paying off what I owe. I would not recommend this company to anyone.Just know as long as they are getting interest payments they are your friend, but as soon as you want to move on in life and make better choices they will make your life h*** I would never go back to this company ever again. Will pay the collectors and you will never see me again.

Ive now had an account with Capital One since 2019- I went through an extreme hardship/bereavement, unemployment right before the peak of Covid, started a payment plan and was paying $200 a month, Ive never redeemed rewards, Ive never had access, I cannot downgrade, my credit limit was changed and upgraded by $100 and they never reported it to the credit agencies even to this day, and lastly Ive paid now 3 membership fees ($40 yearly) to keep the account a rewards account and open when I cannot redeem it. Ive called customer service over x50 and genuinely no one in ***** or making a slaves wage cares to help me. 1/2 of the calls have been dropped, all Ive been able to do is make payments and see my balance on my online account, and lastly they ruined my credit. I never spent more than the maxed out limit but now for the last 3 YEARS Its said Ive been using a higher percentage of my limit that is STILL NOT UPDATED. Worst decision of my life truly. Why is this company allowed in business

Capital One is a piece of c*** don't ever waste your time trying to get ahead in life using them for anything at all. I didn't even have a payment due and I went to make $100 payment on my card and accidentally used the routing number from an account that was closed I immediately called customer service at ******************** to tell them that I had inadvertently using the wrong card and gave them the correct information so they immediately took the $100 while I was on the phone. Mind you there wasn't even a payment due yet. Two days later I got a notice that my account was closed due to making a payment on a card that returned the payment. LMFAO what a joke what a piece of work I'd heard bad reviews about them and I should have listened their business practices are those of Kool-Aid. I called customer service to find out what the h*** their problem was and all the lady could tell me was I'm sorry I'm sorry. You're right you are sorry never ever do business with Capital One ever again and I plan to tell everyone else the same.
