5 starsMy front steps were sagging to one side very noticeably. I called around, read reviews and decided to schedule an inspection and estimate from Aquaguard. ********************* came out and performed the inspection and we discussed all of the work that Aquaguard could perform with the steps as well as some concrete lifting on the sidewalk in front of the steps along with a slab for an outbuilding that had some issues. **** was very professional and educational. *A couple of weeks later **** called and told me about an additional discount the company was offering and I decided to move forward.*Today the "foundation" crew came to install the pier to lift the steps and I have to say ******, ***** (Hollywood) and Super ***** were awesome. From their great attitudes in answering all of my questions to their excellent dispositions. It was a pleasure to meet them and their work is top notch. The steps moved back into place just as planned and look great. *I suppose the only thing that would have made it any better would be if Aquaguard offered the ************* up" that is needed where the nature of the process leaves the need for a little mortar repair, but beyond that I could not have asked for anything more. Glad I went with Aquaguard.Review fromKaren S

5 starsContracted with OBA to encapsulate the crawlspace and install a dehumidifier. Brock *. came and did the initial review and estimate. Next Caleb * and Brandon * completed the encapsulation and did the install of the dehumidifier. There was a small hiccup but it was addressed. Everyone was professional and helpful, very polite and friendly. The is the second time we have used this company and our experience has been very good.Review fromJim R

1 starVery Shady Business: Sells us a 2 day labor foundation repair for $********* asked several times for a Itemized bill, they say they do not hand those out??? The guys show up to do the work and it was only 2 hours of work 1/2 hour talking when they got here and a 1/2 talking after the job was done. I was so stunned!!!!! I asked over and over why am I paying on labor for 2 days? No one can give me this answer, but dam they hit my Credit Card for the full bill. I am fighting for reimbursement on this labor. 1 starI have never worked with a more unprofessional company than Foundation Recovery systems! I had one gentleman come to my home and said well yeah we can do this. It’ll be easy. Never heard anything else. I called the company again to find out what was going on? They said the gentleman didn’t work there anymore so they sent someone else out. That gentleman said we can do it. It’s going to be a little bit difficult but we can do it. Here qualify for this loan for $******* Will get with you the beginning of next year to set a time and a date. Didn’t hear anything for a few months I get a notification saying hey, we have you set up for an appointment to start work on 6 February. We’re going to take out *** of the loan and will see you then. Please confirm. I confirmed and then I never heard anything. My instructions were to move everything out of my home so that they were able to rip my floor to get to my crawlspace a lot easier. I moved all of my stuff out of my home , I boarded my two dogs paid in advance for a week, and I paid in advance for a week at a hotel. Day of I hear nothing I call get transferred get transferred again then I am told that people were supposed to have gotten in touch with me a while back and that there’s a *** chance that they’re not going to be able to do anything in my crawlspace even though they said they could. I come home from work and there is a huge rolloff dumpster in my driveway . I called the company that the dumpster came from and they said that Foundation Recovery systems ordered it a week ago. But I was told by the gentleman for Foundation Recovery systems that they had talked weeks ago and that way they weren’t going to be able to do it. So why did they order a dumpster if they couldn’t do it? I guess I should’ve gone with my gut and not went with my first option. This company has really soured the taste in my mouth for contracted companies.Review fromVickie H

1 starWe contacted Ohio Basement Authority in October to have our foundation leveled. The salesman that visited us (Joseph) did an okay job presenting the company and explained in detail the work that would be performed. After obtaining 2 additional quotes, we opted to have Ohio Basement Authority perform the work. We were told a permit was required before they could start the work but were assured that was just a formality (2-3 weeks at the most) so we were looking at November to have the work done. We were contacted by an office worker after roughly a month and were told there was a delay with the permit so the work would have to be rescheduled. Ohio Basement Authority played this game 2 additional times claiming there was a delay getting the permit approved. Only after my husband called ****** ******** ******** ****** ********** did we confirm permits really are a formality and should take no more than 2 weeks to obtain. When my husband communicated this to Ohio Basement Authority, they were miraculously able to produce the approved permit and have a crew at out house the next day. We confirmed with the building inspector that Ohio Basement Authority hadn't even submitted the request for the permit until the end of November so they blatantly lied to us from the get-go. As far as the actual work that was done, we have no complaints thus far. Another very disturbing fact is in order for Ohio Basement Authority to stand behind their work and perform routine inspections, the customer must pay extra. Who doesn't stand behind their work? Had we read the other reviews on the *** website, we would have gone with another contractor. Lessons learned...Review fromAshli J

1 starI am so disappointed in this company. We had $23k worth of repairs done back in October. I will give credit in our foundation work has been fixed, but wow after that it's all downhill from there. There is water seeping through our basement where the concrete was redone where the piers are. We had to have 2 reschedules due to weather. Understandable. One reschedule was a no show and I had to be the one to reach out for the millionth time. They finally came out and instead of redoing the concrete which they said they would do they decided for a quick fix and just seal it all. Well, it rained last Monday and it did not fix it. Still have water coming through. We called Tuesday and were told we would get a call back 24-48 hrs, no call. I called Friday, was told I would get a call back. No call. I shouldn't have to fight so hard to get a job done right that I paid over 20k for. To top everything off, they needed to replace the concrete in our driveway where one of the piers are and it looks like I did it myself. The guy literally dragged his finger through the concrete to show where it separates. It's crooked, chunks of concrete still sit there. It's so unprofessional looking. I cannot believe this is how a business runs. It's so disappointing and I'm not even sure what more I can do at this point but just keep calling until they finally reach out to me and come out and fix the job right. Communication goes a long way for me. I'm pretty patient, but this is absolutely ridiculous. The secretaries know me by name I talk to them so often, but after that it's crickets.Review fromAlex T

1 starThe original date they came out (12/27), the crew made a huge mess and didn't clean it up, made significant errors with the sump pump install, busted a pipe and "fixed it" (see later issues), left water turned off, hot water turned off, window open, concrete powder on **** controllers and personal chairs, etc. The QC guy came that Friday (12/30) and made some fixes and identified other errors that would need to be sorted with another day and confirmed pipe had been fixed. The crew came out to allegedly finish the job (1/3) and said because of the leak of the pipe that was busted by the original crew and a plumber would need to be called. The office told me they could fix it and a plumber wasn't necessary. The crew with a construction manager came out to fix the busted pipe (1/4). My basement is still an absolute mess, the output pipe from the sump pump is still right on the foundation, the concrete work is still shotty and hasn't been fixed, and I'm very dissatisfied with the job. Allegedly this will all be completed on 1/18 (almost a month after the original date of this 1 day job was scheduled). No financial discount has been offered for this job going well beyond the original timeline and having such a plethora of issues in quality.
Update: Both my boyfriend and I are both wildly unsatisfied with their work on both properties after spending nearly ****
Regarding my boyfriend's house: His lattice work his stepfather (almost in his 70s!) spent hours completing and a destroyed dryer vent that they said they would fix. This was after we were promised a more experienced and courteous crew after my house's work was botched.
Now we are going to be behind on listing his house for sale and out *** for subpar work.Review fromMike S

1 starHORRIBLE EXPERIENCE/SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICE
In early 2022 i hired Ohio Basement Authority to make repairs to the basement of my home.
This included water seepage remediation, new sump & pumps along with new support columns for the main beam of the house.
The job total came to right at $******.
The crew arrived and began work.
Immediately there were issues!
The relocated a support beam from underneath a joint in the beam to two feet away.
This also located the column at the bottom of the stairs, almost in the middle.
It was now almost impossible to move large items up and down the stairs.
When i asked for their PE (professional Engineer) to contact me and explain why the move i got nothing.
i began to doubt they have an engineer on staff.
The next day water began to seep under the new concrete they installed.
They came back, removed said concrete and replaced.
Again it leaked groundwater in.
A third time they came back to repair and install a rather half ass solution for moving the column.
The supervisior i reached out to in an attempt to have the issues fixed ghosted me after a couple days of communication.
Finally they had their master installer tech come out.
He removed EVERYTHING the first crew had done and replaced it himself.
This finally fixed everything.
When i finally met with the supervisor i thought a discount would be in order since it took FOUR times to get the job right.
After negotiating a SMALL discount (less than 10%) he said there was a form he would send me to fill out just for their accounting dept.
You can imagine my surprise when a NDA (non disclosure agreement) arrived.
When i questioned him he tried to convince me that it wasnt an NDA.
I quoted him the paragraphs stating that because of a discount i count not leave bad reviews or speak of my experience.
This is how they suppress negative reviews.
Their NDA threatens legal action.
I refused to sign and hope others read this review.
