A collection account was reported to my credit report without my knowledge of owing it. When I moved out of my apartment I never received an updated bill. I didnt find out about owing the debt until it went to collections. If I knew I owed it I would have made arrangements to pay prior to it being in my credit. I have sent debt validation letters that were never answered. When I have called in the past the people I spoke with were not nice. This collection account has ruined any chances of me getting a home or being able to rent a place for my family to live. Legally I should have been notified that my deposit didnt cover remaining balance so I could have made a payment arrangement. I am already struggling financially and to have to deal with not being able to find a place to live due to illegal collection practices is not ok.Business Response

I have had an awful experience with IQ international data that has restricted me from being able to make any progress on a debt that is being unfairly charged to me. The original creditor falsely charged me and would not speak with me at all before sending me off to this collection agency. This collection agency has not even provided me with an account number to go by. I am willing to pay 5%-10% to get it off my report as I am financially struggling to the point of almost going homeless with my young daughter due to this account. I can provide a screenshot of the account on my credit reports but unfortunately do not have an account number to reference. Please I just really need to get this off my report!Business Response

I lived at ****************** located on ***************************************************** between 08/30/2021 - 09/30/2022 (lease term). On 09/30/2022 I moved out of ******* & received a final account statement from them in the amount of $287.34. I informed ******* that they could deduct that amount from my security deposit of $300 in accordance with ******* Statues *****. On 10/31/2022 IQ Data International incorrectly reported $287 as a collection account to the credit ***************** ruined my credit. I contacted IQ *********** claimed I did not have a deposit. I immediately provided them a signed copy of my lease that shows I had $300 as a security deposit but they still refused to remove this incorrect account. I am requesting IQ Data remove this inaccurate account from my report.Business Response

I moved out of my apartment 10/21/22 & gave notice in writing to move out by 11/30/22. In the notice I requested a copy of the move out charges be mailed to me and included my new address. I never received it. On 01/31/23 I return a message left at my *************************** demanding I pay in full immediately. I explained my intentions to pay what I owe but had not received a breakdown of what I was being charged for. I explained that I was told I wouldnt be charged for certain things & need to verify I wasnt paying for something I dont owe & need to know my security deposit was applied. He claimed he was emailing this info then tried to pressure me to pay before I could see it. I asked why I couldnt dispute the debt and he said I could only dispute it if I paid first. He told me that if I did not pay before seeing this proof he would mark the account as a refusal to pay and take the further action. I know this violates FDCPA section 809d & explained that I knew my rights and would call back once I reviewed the email. I received a list of charges all described as move out charges but nothing showed my security deposit was applied toward the balance. I called back & spoke to a manager. She tried to mislead me into thinking I didnt have the right to dispute. Finally after I threatened a CFPB complaint she said I would need to submit my dispute in writing or email. I immediately sent the dispute asking for more than a list of unspecified charges including how my deposit was applied. 3/13/23 they mailed the exact same vague info they emailed in January. I emailed advising what they sent was not sufficient & reiterated the info needed to validate the debt. I hadnt received a response & got an alert that it hit my credit. I was not given the chance to research before it reported. I have been open about my intentions & due to unethical & illegal practices of IQ data I have suffered stress & financial impacts that shouldve been avoided had they respected my rights.Business Response

I.Q. Data International, *** put negative, inaccurate information on my Equifax, Transunion and Experian credit report credit. on 1/21/2023 this collection agency reported to the credit bureaus that I owe them $3945 for a contractual agreement that I had with The Slate Apartments. The Slate apartments was paid in full on 12/16/2022. I have uploaded evidence to support this claim. This inaccurate reporting has hindered me from qualifying for a new home mortgage, obtaining a job and obtaining a new credit card account. I filed a complaint with Equifax, Transunion and Experian on January 17, 2023 but was informed that the account was verified. The reporting agencies did not provide me with any evidence, disclosures or contracts showing any agreement between me and IQ Data International which gave them permission to report my private, personal information or to show that their claim of me owing them $3945 was valid.According to 15 USC ****, this debt collector violated my rights by using false, deceptive or misleading representation. According to 15 USC **** s-2 IQ Data International violated my rights by furnishing information relating to me to three consumer reporting agencies knowing there was reasonable cause to believe that the information is inaccurate.According to 15 USC **** inaccurate credit reporting directly impair the efficiency of the banking system and unfair credit reporting methods undermine the public confidence which is essential to the continued functioning of the banking system.According to 15 USC **** my right to privacy was violated when IQ Data International disclosed my nonpublic personal information without my knowing or expressed consent.
