1 starVery disappointed. We have a young family. Two babies and one on the way. This past month Alaska Airlines broke our over $400 new double stroller and refused to reimburse us. Immediately after getting off our flight we attempted to submit a claim at the baggage office but were told everything is done online. We attempted to submit the claim online as told but learned this process cannot be completed online. We submitted the claim over the phone but were notified one week later that Alaska would not reimburse the stroller because of their Contract of Carriage Rule 15 H. Section 6 subsection d. 16, strollers are deemed unsuitable as checked luggage and are excluded from liability. Instead they offered us a $50 discount code. We were not pleased with this answer because we did not choose to check our stroller but were forced to gate check our stroller like any other at our gate. Also this over $400 stroller was new and now unusable for our children. The support was not scratched but was completely snapped apart. This would not happen unless someone threw the stroller or dropped it from a high distance. Our family has been flying with Alaska airlines for over 20 years and haven't experienced anything like this from Alaska before. Our close friends had their stroller broken recently when being gate checked by Alaska airlines and were fully refunded the amount to replace their stroller without issue. We contacted Alaska again with our concerns and received a reply of apology with a $100 payout. Unfortunately this is not enough to replace our stroller and we are unhappy with this outcome.Review fromCaroline G

1 starIve made a few calls to customer ********************** that go unanswered... I'm giving them 1 star!I used miles to go from ******** to ********* recently and they changed my original flight from having 2 hours layover in *** on the way to GUA to 8 hours layover!! I asked for a lounge pass to help make the time pass easier but they said no. I got no compensation for having to take an extra day off work to leave so early. To add insult to injury, I am an alaska airlines credit card holder so my check in bag should have been free but because they rebooked me on American Airlines (which is supposedly a code share partner) I had to pay for my bags. I can't even get in touch with anyone to ask for a refund. I asked the agents at the airport and they said I have to call but nobody answers the phone! The other weird thing was I had to get my bag at *** on the way home from ********* and then recheck it to go to *** even tho it was tagged the whole way thru. And the Alaska app and the American Airlines apps and the gate agents couldn't print my boarding pass all the way thru. I had to recheck into my flight during my layover in ***. And switch gates 2 terminals over and clear customs during a 2 hour layover. I was stressed! I would not have made my connection if I had mobility issues or the lines were longer. Terrible experience all around. Definitely cancelling my credit card before it renews.Review fromTwyla R

1 starDuring the holiday season, I paid $44 for seat selection on Alaska Airlines Flight **** for seat 6F on 12/29/23. At the airport, staff changed the seat to 8F and when questioned at the gate, I was essentially told that it was the same seat. The seats were not the same and I had a very unpleasant trip in 8F that would not have happened if I was in the seat that I purchased. Alaska is engaging in a scheme to steal money from passengers by claiming that more money will pay for a seat that the passenger selects when, in fact, ALASKA has no intention of honoring the purchase. Airlines should not be allowed to engage in these scams. This is the second time that Alaska Airlines has stolen money from me. I will not be giving away money to AA fraudsters again.Review fromTJ S

1 starIve flown Alaska out of ******* 2x in the last few months. Baggage drop wait is the worst where it takes 40 mins to process 5-6 people with no help from the staff. Witnessed a person in front of us miss their flight. Not sure if they are working slow on purpose. Overall service on the flight is deteriorating as well. Surprised how a good airline can decline like this. The bag drop times and lack of customer ********************** at checkin should be flagged.Review fromNora C

1 starI was one minute late to the 40 min bag drop cutoff for Alaska Air due to terrible traffic at ***. I had checked in online and prepaid my luggage fee the day before. I waited in line for the ticket agent, who called the gate agent and said, We have a runner, can she come through? Shes checked in. The gate agent said no. The ticket agent said that they would be able to gate check my luggage. I was able to get to the gate quickly. I was forced to throw away very expensive items due to the *** limit on liquids. I explained to two gate agents that I was one minute late to the cutoff due to traffic and needed to gate check my luggage. Both women flatly refused to help me. I explained that if necessary, I would throw away my possessions in order to get on the flight. They again refused. When I asked for her help again she said the next step would be for me to call airport police. The arrogance and disdain exhibited by both women was intolerable. All they had to do was print out one luggage tag and hand it to me. After the first agent threatened me with airport police, I threw away my valuable possessions from my larger suitcase. I told the agent that she can call the airport police if she wants, but I need to get on this flight. She flatly refused to allow me to board. At this point the second agent walked up to me. She said, youre not checked in. I told her that as the ticket agent had said to her over the phone earlier, I was checked in. She again denied that I was checked in. She said, Theres a seat left on the flight. I was going to help you but now Im not. The flight had many empty seats and was not even close to capacity. I asked her, Isnt it your job to help me? She again denied the fact that I was checked in for the flight.Never did I expect to encounter this level of degradation at an Alaska Airlines ticket counter while asking for something as simple as a luggage tag. Travel is hard and they made it unbearable.Review fromFrank P

1 starAlaska Air just stole $300 from me. I paid $1100 in May. Now that my November flight is cancelled, they would only refund $800 cash due to ticket price decrease since my purchase. I do get to keep $300 in (almost useless) travel credits tho. What a horrible business practice. Hope this helps others when considering **************. Avoid this company at all costs.Review fromJAY J

1 starThe new policy on the Alaska lounge that requires ******************************************** the lounge. I am a first class traveler and been using Alaska Air for years this is quite disappointing. In April traveled first class to ***** with my wife. Now I'm traveling first class to ******* with other family members that's a total of 4 first class round trip tickets. With this new change one will have to travel coast to coast one way. Talked to Alaska Airlines customer ********************** there is nothing they can do, and advise me to purchase a one time membership of $30 to access the lounge, that will be $30X4 for ea one of us. For that reason, I'm cancelling my Alaska mileage credit card plus it doesn't worth an annual credit card fee for such poor service. very disappointedReview fromAaron P

1 starI use Alaska Airlines website to look at different things on a regular basis. I am a frequent flyer with a little over 300,00 miles in my account and I've been checking different flights and trying to decide where and when I want to go. I guess I spend to much time on their booking system so it's decided it's giving me "access denied" and won't even let me into their system to book award travel. I have left numerous complaints to Alaska directly, but it's never been taken care of, so I am unable to book award travel, or anything else for that matter, I have never run into this type of thing before. Just because I go to their website on a regular basis and spend quite a bit of time looking at different things, they think I'm a "Bot" and deny me entry, I had to continually "press and hold" a button to prove I wasn't a Bot. Well I guess I pressed it too many times and it just decided to boot me out of their system completely. Are they trying to make me call to book flights, and then charging an additional $15.00 per ticket? It sure feels that way. I let them know that I was going to contact the BBB. Maybe now they'll let me back in to book award travel with over ******* miles.Review fromNeda K

1 starI was traveling from *** airport on 08/15/2023. I had 3 tickets for my daughters and myself, and I paid for each seat individually, so we could have all three seats in one row. For some reasons, I had to travel without my five year old twins. I told the flight attendant that my kids are not traveling with me, so they dont keep other passengers waiting. I sat on my seat and I noticed they sold my other two tickets to 2 customers. I complained and told them I have boarding passes for these 3 seats. The flight attendant started yelling at me and telling me if you dont comply with my rule I can kick you out of my plane. She repeatedly saying this is my plane. Finally, she aggressively in front of all other passengers told me you need to get off now. It was very humiliating for the first time in my life someone talked to me like this in front of hundreds of other people. I left the airplane. I slept on the seat in airport crying and so upset thinking about what just happened. I even told her Im sorry, but she was very mad and said I dont want to hear that.Review fromPriyanka A

1 starWe had an early morning flight on Saturday morning, and we had checked in and everything the day prior. However, at 3 am, we got an email that they cancelled the flight and had no alternate options. Obviously we only saw this in the morning a few hours prior to the flight and now we dont have enough time to book other options as everything else has departed. We were flying for just one night for a friends wedding and now have to deal with car, hotel, and other rentals for the wedding. What kind of airlines notifies overnight for an early morning flight that its cancelled? This is the most unhelpful and useless airlines Ive dealt with.
