I recently purchased 2 RAD bikes. Radwagon 4 and Rad Runner +. The Rad Runner is great. But the Radwagon came with Radius brakes rather than Tektro as advertised. Rad customer service claims they are the same quality, but side by side comparison, the Radius brakes are far inferior than the Tektro. (yes I considered the weight difference of the two bikes).Radius brakes are NOT safe and I would not trust them. Especially not with my kids on the bike.Customer Service is refusing to help and told me to go to a bike shop.I asked about my 14 day guarantee and that I wanted to return this bike and get a new one with proper / safe components. (Tektro, Shimano)Also, the battery and motor seem inferior to what is on the RadRunner+. The performance is so drastically different, I really feel like I got a lemon of a bike. But customer service is not willing to help.Unfortunate you can't get anyone on the phone to talk to, just an online messaging service.Would love some help to make this right after spending a lot of money.Rad Power Bikes Inc.

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to write this review! We see your support ticket ******* submitted on 5/5 and you have not received a response from our support team, we apologize. Unopened ebikes can be returned within thirty (30) days of receipt for a $149 return shipping fee (per bike), and opened ebikes with less than 20 miles of usage can be returned for a $149 shipping fee (per bike) plus a 30% restocking fee (per bike). We can add your request for a return within that support ticket and will follow up with you there. Alternatively, we can send you out the Tektro Aries Disc Brake Pads as well if you would rather keep the bike. We will follow up in your support ticket to assist.Review fromHeather H

I purchased a RAD City 3 last year. It had problems right out of the box, mainly that it would suddenly feel as though the breaks were slammed on while I was riding. I contacted customer service, and was happy to troubleshoot the issue with them. They were kind and pleasant and suggested adjusting the breaks, which I did. No further issues for a few rides, but then it came back worse. The bike would just suddenly shut off, and it felt like the breaks were being slammed on again. It would only turn on for a few minutes at a time. Rad sent me a new controller, new wire assembly, new battery harness, as they didn't seem to know what it might be. I wasn't going to replace all these things at home, so I took it to an REI bike shop. They kept it for 6 months, unable to fix the issue, in touch with ***, who sent a new battery and then a new display. None of these replacement parts fixed the issue. The online person who said they would be with my case until it was resolved went dark on me. I called and found out it had been referred to a supervisor, who seemed ready to replace my bike after I sent in a video of it not turning on, and pictures of it. THEN a new supervisor chimed in and asked me to replace a 40 amp fuse on the brand new unused battery. I got the fuse, replaced the brand new fuse with another brand new fuse. Still a broken bike. Now RAD says their phone lines are closed. So I went on chat with RAD. The person pointed out that my video was faulty because the battery wasn't in the on position when I tried to turn it on. So now I need to send a new video, even though it doesn't matter which position it's in, IT JUST DOESN"T WORK. The bike shop already tried to fix this thing with the new battery. I am getting a major run around. I am a generally calm peaceful person, and I've never complained about ANY company before, but I am pissed!!! No one should have to go through this kind of saga to fix a bike or get a warranty honored!Rad Power Bikes Inc.

Please, please, please don't purchase from Rad Bikes or purchase the Radwagon. Their equipment is faulty and not safe for families, adults or kids. I purchased a Radwagon to use as a commuter. We received the bike late August 2022, assembled and rode up and down our street a few times to test. Within 4 days of receiving the bike I was sent a message to stop riding the bike as the tires were faulty causing some to EXPLODE! They asked me to sign up for replacement tires and I put the bike away in my garage until new tires arrived. Months go by, still no new tires. After 4 months I didn't feel safe putting my kids on the bike anymore due to the fact that Rad sold bikes with faulty tires and clearly were not able to replace their equipment in a timely manner. I no longer trusted the company or equipment. I reached out to the services team and asked to return the bike as it was un-useable and the replacement was taking so long. They wouldn't accept a return as 14 days had lapsed since the purchase of the bike. I explained how I didn't trust the bike equipment and would have returned if I knew that tire repairs would take months (since the issue was uncovered after 4 days of owning). They denied a return and told me to keep waiting. March 2023 (8 MONTH LATER), the new tires were installed. The bike repair man uncovered additional issues with the bike. Bent frame, bent derailleur shifter not working, etc. The repair shop told me to reach out directly to Rad as the bike was not functioning properly. *** sent me replacement parts and made it clear I was financially responsible for the repairs. After ~$4K spent, 8 months not riding the bike, I had to spend more $ to repair the bike to basic riding condition. Sadly, the shifter is still not working, which means more $, more repairs and another conversation with their service team to even get it to a resale state. Please purchase from a more reputable bike company, not RAD.Rad Power Bikes Inc.

1 starDo not buy a Rad Power Bike, do not purchase a Radwagon. Do not give this company your money. They cannot be trusted and have left thousands of people with unsafe, unusable bikes. First they denied a problem and then only fixed it when they were forced to. They have been totally inept in handling the recall process and have missed the promised deadlines for sending new tire kits over and over. It has stretched from the first promised deadline of December to May as of todays new email update. I am FURIOUS that they wont do right by customers who already bought their bikes and cant safely ride them when they are now shipping out new Radwagons. Do not trust this company!Review fromEmily M

In July of 2022, I purchased a RadWagon 4 as a primary form of transportation for our family to get the kids around. We really liked it and quickly came to rely on it.In September of 2022, our RadWagon 4 was recalled due to a defect in the tires and we were advised not to ride it until it could be repaired. At the time, *** offered a choice of repair or refund, and they stated that "Unfortunately the process to produce, inspect, and air ship these new parts may take 2-3 months to complete."We were willing to work with Rad on this and signed up to receive a repair kit. However, the company has not come even close to meeting their original timeframe. In November, we received an update that "Based upon production of tires with our manufacturer, we anticipate shipment of repair kits to customers shortly and continue into next year" and then in late November it became "Repair appointments are currently expected to begin in January and run though March 2023".We saw that *** started selling new RadWagon 4s again in February, and frankly we were pretty angry that they apparently have the parts to sell new ones while they still have customers with non-functioning bikes. We contacted *** again and their support person said "it's likely you should have *********** kit and appointment by the end of February, early March at the latest from what I can tell- I sadly do not have an exact ETA but I hope this helps!"On March 11, we had still received no further updates and I contacted Rad again and requested a refund for our bike. Rad let us know that they were not willing to offer a refund for a bike that has been non-functional for 6 of the 8 months we have owned it. They say that they have let customers know when to expect repair kits, but they've blown past every estimate they've offered so far. It's now March 13 and our patience is at an end with Rad. Don't expect them to stand behind their products or treat their existing customers well.Rad Power Bikes Inc.

Hi! We have confirmed that you are on our Tire ********************* list. *** has a fix in place and is currently implementing that fix in waves now that we have the parts for the repair. We plan to have all of the US recall-affected customers sent their repair parts by the end of March. In accordance with the recall terms, since *** has an identified solution in place for the repair of the RadWagon 4, we will not be accepting ANY exchanges, refunds, or returns of this model. or offering any type of compensation other than covering the cost of the Rad-replacement parts and the labor to install them, once your replacement parts kit is available to ship. You will get an email when your parts ship and another when your service appointment has been scheduled. Please keep an eye out for this email sometime in the next month. Once your appointment is set up, you will then be responsible for the safe transportation of your bike or just the tires to the service appointment. Transportation of the bike to the service appointment is not covered by the Rad warranty or the recall process. We sincerely apologize about any inconvenience and appreciate your patience.Review fromMark T

GOOD LUCK GETTING PARTS My son's RadRover 6 Plus was purchased Mar. 25, 2022. (we are second owner bought May 2022 after being assured warranty would transfer). In August 2022 it stopped working, and after submitting a ticket it was determined the wiring harness and controller needed replacement, but that the Wiring Harness and Controller were currently out of stock. I have checked back almost monthly and the answer is always the same: out of stock and no idea when will be available. The last response ( ticket #******* Feb 3, 2023) indicated I needed to "visit the product page linked above, and click the "Out of Stock - Notify Me" button." and then "I would recommend that you purchase them as soon as you see that email because a lot of customers are waiting for them to come back in stock and they would sell out quickly."This is very poor customer service as it is a warranty replacement - it should be sent automatically as soon as available. I have an expensive bike just sitting there useless with no end in sight....Rad Power Bikes Inc.

In July of 2022 I bought a RadRover6; now with about 20 hours of use the front and rear brakes have failed, they have no stopping power. I spoke with *** reps at length and they told me I have to regularly 'bleed" the brakes. My colleagues with other brands of ebikes have a few years of use with no brake problems. And I've been driving cars with hydraulic brakes for 50 years and never had to bleed the brakes unless I opened them up for repair and let some air in. The reps at Rad power are either misinformed or intentionally misleading me. So I met with ******************* at **********************, he used to work as service manager for Rad, he says Rad put low quality brakes on the Rad Rover. So I bought a superior set of brakes from TekTro, as that is the better supplier Rad uses. The Rad Reps talk a lot, the substance of the ebike is less than good. Not sure what to make of my Rad bike overall as I already had to replace one shifter and the frame 'wobbles' if I take my hands off the handlebars at any speed over 10 kph.Rad Power Bikes Inc.

I purchased two rad rover 6 plus step thru. We took delivery june/july of 2022. Neither bike has functioned since they were unboxed. Though the customer service rep is very pleasant to talk to the fact that the pedal assist & electric throttle has not functioned. They have sent a chorus of replacement parts and still do not function. Their shipping is painful at best..you do not receive parts in a timely manner. These bikes are over priced scrap metal. I would suggest another manufacturer.Rad Power Bikes Inc.

I purchased a Rad Rover 6 plus in the *********, ** retail store in November 2022. The staff there was extremely helpful and described in detail everything I needed to know about the bike. After the purchase, I rode it a couple of times before winter arrived. I stored the battery in the house with 5 bars remaining. As the weather got a little better I decided to charge the battery. When I can back there were no bars on the battery and seemed completely dead. I tried it on the bike and nothing happened. I called into Rad support and they said it sounded like a blown internal fuse. *****, of Rad support, didnt give me any attitude and was so very helpful and very professional. He said he would send me an email and to follow the instructions in the email. I followed the instructions and replied to his email and the next thing I know, a battery was being sent to me. I am so happy I purchased a Rad bike. I would highly recommend them not only with customer service but they stand behind their products.***************** From *********Rad Power Bikes Inc.

I ordered a Rad Rover 6+ end of July, 2022. The bike ran as expected from Aug 1 thru about mid Oct. I started getting intermittent problems where it wouldn't run, but a day or 2 later it would. Finally on Nov 7 it stranded me about 5 miles from home. I contacted Rad Support on Nov 8. After exchanging about 15 emails and not being able to connect via phone, there was no progress in finding the problem. I never realized that as the owner, I would have to perform all the trouble shooting which included dismantling part of the bike to get test/check points. If I needed help diagnosing the problem, the cost of a bike shop or mobile service was at my expense (not Rad) even though the bike was well within the warranty period. On Nov 19 I finally was able to speak to someone on the phone and after a few other tests it was determined that the controller was bad. The part was "IN STOCK" at that time and an order was submitted to ship it to me. Around the middle of Dec, I followed up on where the part was. Now it was "OUT OF STOCK". I have made several requests to have some manager call me as was very frustrated. I made requests to pull the part off a demo bike or contact their factory bike stores inventory. NO response to any request I had. I requested a refund based on not being able to supply repair parts, but my request was denied because I was out of their standard return policy period. I attempted to email corporate offices in ******* (using online business information services), but never got a response. I sent a formal letter via registered mail to corporate offices (attention to ******************** and *******************) but have not received any response.I have had my Rad Rover 6+ for 6 months. 2 1/2 months it worked. 2 weeks it was intermittent. For 3 months and still counting it is not working. The web site Trustpilot.com confirms my displeasure with Rad Power Bikes A lessons learned is never buy a product online it they don't provide warranty service near by.Rad Power Bikes Inc.

It did seem funny that 2 days after me leaving my review on BBB, a replacement part magically was found when none were available during the previous 3 months. I also wonder why corporate office did not think it was important enough to respond to my email and registered letter to them.
