My non-for-profit theatre organization has used Brown Paper Tickets since 2018. Even though we signed up for their direct deposit program which ensures payment 10 days after the closing of our event, we have not received any payments since June 13th, and they currently owe us $11,083.67 with an additional $2,386.31 pending. We have emailed them several times with no response and their phone is "temporarily unavailable." We are a small, local, community theatre that depends upon our ticket sales for our operating budget. We are currently depending upon donations to pay our basic expenses. Because of the lack of response from Brown Paper Ticket, we are researching other options for our ticket sales, however, in order to move forward with our season, we need to have Brown Paper Ticket send us the money that we are owed. I hope that you are able to assist us with this, as we would like to avoid taking legal action, if possible.Initial Complaint

We had an event on June 16 & 18, 2022. We signed up with Brown Paper Tickets for our guests to purchase the tickets through them with Brown Paper Tickets receiving a fee for processing the tickets. We were to receive payment of the price of the tickets within 10 business days (end of June). We are a non-profit organization, and the ticket total due to us is $17,790.00. In June I received an email back telling me that it would be deposited within 10 business days. Since then all emails have not been responded to.How does one collect from someone who is not taking phone calls and does not respond to emails?~******************* Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of CommerceInitial Complaint

This complaint is being filed by the Ventura County Sports Hall of Fame (VCSHOF) against Brown Paper Tickets (***) based in *******, **. We had used *** for several pre-pandemic years without problems to sell tickets to our annual induction dinner. This year's event was held on June 5, 2022, and when it was over, we unable to collect the nearly $21,000 owed to us for ticket sales. Our account info with *** is: #******* bpt-************ .The *** website has suspended their support phone number, and emails to them have gone unanswered. I did some research and found that *** has not honored their contract with many other users, and that they were involved in a class action lawsuit in *******. Not only is this devastating to our NPO, that fact that I had to pay event expenses up front from my checking account has left me in an untenable PERSONAL financial situationInitial Complaint

******************** Association, a non-profit music presenting organization, has been a customer of ********************** for a few years. Feeling reassured after they finally made good on approximately $10,000 we were owed from ticket money collected during the pandemic, we made the decision to support them with posting tickets to new events starting in July 2022. It has now been approximately 30 days post-event, and we are still waiting to receive funds of $24,780 collected on our behalf. We have a current, much smaller event, listed with them for a pair of concerts in September. Can BBB encourage BPT to pay these funds right away? There has been no response to email, and their telephone is not in service.Initial Complaint

On May 13th and May 14th, 2022 our volunteer student/faculty group Living Breath of w???b?altx? staged our annual event. We have done business with Brown Paper Tickets for about 6 years before the pandemic shut down our 2020 event. We felt confident in going back. Our sales for our event amounted to $3,600.00. We were told that Brown Paper paid event organizers through a direct deposit now. I provided the number for direct deposit to our university account. It is now August and we have received no payment. We had the administrator for our UW department comb the records to see if such an amount was ever deposited with the provided number. I has never been deposited. I have emailed several times without any reply and as I understand now--many others have no way to call them. I am formally making a complaint. Brown Paper Tickets owes our $3,600.00. If they refuse to pay this amount we are prepared to have the ********** of Washington American Indian Studies take legal action. We will never do business with them again. This was a horrible way to treat our elders, our students and our communities.Initial Complaint

My company is a *************************. We have used BrownPaperTickets for all our dance events since 2016 and had a really good experience with them until 2019. We had a performance on June 18th, 2022 and used BrownPaperTickets for ticketing. It's August 15th today and we still haven't received the $11250 that is owed to us for the completion of this event. We have sent them multiple emails and have only received automated responses -- however, there has been no update on when the payment is going to be made.Initial Complaint

I sold tickets via Brown Paper Tickets for an event on July 2nd, 2022. I have yet to receive payment for the event as they state 10 days is the Norm but due to Covid some delays may happen. I have sent 4 emails (July 24th, July 26th, July 29th and August 6th) to no answer. I just want to know the actual status and ETA of my payment. Its been well past the 10 days and now we are looking at over 30 days as of this writing.Initial Complaint

The *******, ** ************ utilized Brown Paper Tickets for on-line ticketing of our drum and bugle corps show held on July 12, 2022. Sales totaled over $23,000. Thus far, we have NOT received payment from Brown Paper Tickets. The day after our event, we received the following information from Brown Paper Tickets: "Your event has ended and we hope it was a success! We strive to send funds collected through Brown Paper Tickets' credit card processing within ten (10) business days; however, please note that we are currently experiencing delays. You will receive an email notification when that payment is processed."Brown Paper Tickets has suspended phone support, so four times we have made inquiries via email about the status of payment. (7/25/22, 7/27/22, 8/2/22 and 8/9/22) Each time, we received an automated response which indicated: "One of our expert staff members will be in touch as soon as possible." Aside from the automated response, to date no one has been in touch, and there has been no follow-up or information provided on the status of our payment.Since it has been over four weeks since our event without any word on payment, and today seeing that Brown Paper Tickets has been subject to numerous Better Business Bureau Complaints and the subject of a lawsuit brought by the state of Washington's Attorney General, we are seeking assistance in obtaining the payment owed to our non-profit club. All net proceeds from our show go to support youth projects in our community. This was the 4th time working with BPT. Each of the previous three times we have received payment as promised.Thank you for your assistance.Customer Answer
