I parked at one of their parking lots. The board in front of the parking said customer ********************** 3 hrs. It never mentioned anything else. Once I came back to my car, I saw a parking ticket of $86.50 I have no clue why they gave me this ticket. I will not be paying it. I also disputed the ticket with them on their website but they denied my claim. They are scamming people of their money. There are many posts on the internet that talks about how they issue tickets without valid reason.Business Response

Hello,
Our goal with any customer, is to provide the reason the notice was issued, find a resolution and to prevent it from happening again in the future. This location is private property and has the parking rules posted. It is to be monitored at the request of the property manager, and Diamond Parking is provided a list of specific rules and is contracted to enforce by ticketing and/or towing based on the challenges the location faces due to unauthorized use. I have reviewed the notice and see it was issued for No Permit Displayed as they were parked in a stall marked reserved only for one of the tenants (as seen in attached photo, also available online). The stalls are strictly reserved , whether the business is open or closed. Unfortunately, the notice is valid.

I appreciate your prompt response, but I must respectfully emphasize that the responsibility for this situation lies with your company due to inadequate signage.
The parking spot in question was marked only as "Reserved Parking" with no indication of a corresponding unit number. As a result, there was no way for me, as a visitor, to reasonably determine that this space was allocated to a specific unit or individual. Clear and visible signage is essential to inform the public of such restrictions. Since your company is unable to provide evidence that a unit number was posted at the time I parked, it confirms that I had no fair means of knowing the space was unavailable for public use.
While I understand that Diamond Parking is contracted to enforce parking rules, it is still the responsibility of the parking management to ensure that signage is clear, visible, and sufficient to inform visitors. Without a posted unit number or clear instructions in the lot, there was no reasonable way for me to identify that this particular space was restricted to a specific tenant. The attached photo you provided does not address the lack of this critical information at the time of parking.
Without clear instructions or a designated unit number on display, I could not have been reasonably expected to know the parking spot was off-limits to me. Any ambiguity in signage is the responsibility of the parking management, not the driver.
Given these circumstances, I respectfully request that this ticket be dismissed immediately. I believe this is the most reasonable and fair outcome based on the facts presented. I would appreciate a written confirmation that the ticket has been voided.
Regards,
Kiran

November 25/2024 at 1:12pm I parked in a pay parking lot at *****************************. When I went to go pay at the meter, I noticed there was no option for debit, nor an option to tap a cc (I only carry a debit card and Apple Pay). I was determined to pay for my parking and noticed a meter about 30ft down the way in the same parking lot. It accepted tap, so I paid for 1hr (expiring at 2:12pm). When I got to my car at 2:05pm I had a ticket stating the time of infraction being 2:03pm. When I got home I made an appeal with Diamond Parking sending a photo of both my receipt and the ticket they gave me and they declined almost immediately. Im frustrated at the limited payment options on that first meter and feel that I shouldnt be penalized for finding another meter and trying to pay in any way I could. If they are that rigid with their parking, the options for people to make payment should be there. I feel like a lot of this explains the ** rating they have with the BBB. The reference # to the ticket is ********. I can provide a photo of both the ticket and the receipt from the 2nd meter I paid at if needed. I feel as though I was wrongfully ticketed and appreciate you looking into this for me. Thank you very much.Business Response

Hello,
Our goal with any customer,is to provide the reason the notice was issued, find a resolution and to prevent it from happening again in the future.
Please note that this location is Private Property and all parking rules have been created by the property owner(s). Diamond Parking has been hired to enforce these parking rules as posted on the property due to the unauthorized use on the facility. The lot in which they were ticketed is a pay parking, at all times. As per the photos on file, the vehicle is parked directly in front of the pay parking sign (see attached photo). The purple **** is one of the signs which offer an option to pay with Apple Pay. Their payment was made was for the City of ******* which is quite a distance and on city property. The notice was appealed which resulted in a denial as the agent was not permitted to accept the receipt submitted. Diamond Parking cannot recoup funds from the city or different companies that were paid in error. We will, however, offer a one-time courtesy, offer a reduction to the amount of $45 which will hold until the end of business day Dec 11th,2024. Thank you. Have a great day!

Hello,
Our goal with any customer, is to provide the reason the notice was issued, find a mutual resolution and to prevent it from happening again in the future. Diamond Parking has been hired to enforce these parking rules as posted on the property due to the unauthorized use on the facility. One of the rules posted is that they are not permitted to leave the property without their vehicle, or they can be ticketed and/or towed. This is one of the terms and conditions posted on the signage. They can park for free while conducting business on the property. Once they leave the lot they are in violation. Specifically in this case, they were witnessed by our patroller leaving the lot which put them in violation, as stated on signage, and the patroller is contracted to immediately issue a notice. We have reviewed this case and will void this as a one-time courtesy. Thank you!

On Nov 18th we had attempted to use ***** location 3154 in *******. We tried my husband's credit card to pay for a 2 hour ticket. It said declined. We knew this was not true and remembered last time we were there, the parking person said the machine was a bit temperamental and try sliding your card slower. We tried this method again as it worked the previous time and it said declined yet again with a communications error. We tried another credit card.. same thing. 3 different credit cards.. all declined results. Yet all of a sudden our banking institute let us know that parking charges had in fact occurred. 7 parking charges ( $38.99 in total) appeared on our cards. I tried calling the numbers on the machines but couldn't get a live person. I tried calling the number that was posted on our **** account for this charge and spoke to a guy who said he receives these calls all the time and not sure why his number is on there. He actually said "good luck I hear it's impossible get someone" I tried the app to see if I could find some way to get ahold of someone on behalf of my husband but was unable to. We walked out of his appointment and saw a ticket on the vehicle stating we needed to pay ***** within 10 days or ****** after 10. I followed up with the appeals dispute and provided them numerous pictures of the kiosk we were at, the charges on the 3 different credit cards that showed we had actually paid 7 times upon our arrival for this 2 hour parking. and yesterday we received a notice they declined our appeal. How can you decline something when you can clearly see we were charged 7 times for a spot IN THE SAME parking lot that is associated with our license plate. We asked for the ticket to be waived as well as 6 of our other charges be reversed as this was clearly an error with their machine. I will be following up with social media as well as contacting other consumer news programs so people are aware and we will continue to try to get this wrong righted.Business Response

I am disputing the parking tickets issued to me during a brief visit to drop off items for a friend on the second level! I was only there for a short time, and this was an emergency situation where I had to help her. As someone with a disability, I cannot quickly return to my car, especially as I was dealing with a severe headache at the time! I also made an effort to ask my friend about parking, but she was unsure of the rules. When I contacted your staff to explain the situation, I was met with blatant rudeness and what I consider discriminatory treatment! Despite my clear explanation of the emergency and my disability, I was dismissed, accused, and threatened with having my car towed. This behavior was not only unprofessional but also deeply insensitive to someone already facing financial and medical challenges!I am on financial assistance and cannot pay these tickets! I am already struggling with medical bills, and this has added undue stress. Your companys actions and lack of accommodation for my circumstances feel like a blatant attempt to profit at the expense of vulnerable individuals!I demand that these tickets be waived immediately! I also urge your company to address the discriminatory and predatory behavior exhibited by your staff. This treatment is unacceptable, and I expect this matter to be resolved without delay!Business Response

Hello,
Our goal with any customer,is to provide the reason the notice was issued, find a resolution and to prevent it from happening again in the future.
Please note that this location is Private Property and all parking rules have been created by the property owner(s). Diamond Parking has been hired to enforce these parking rules as posted on the property due to the unauthorized use on the facility. The lot in which they were ticketed is a pay parking, at all times. Our patroller has no way of discerning how long the vehicle would remain parked without having paid. If payment cannot be made, they are not permitted to park. As per the photos on file, the vehicle is parked directly in front of the pay parking sign (see attached photo on file). They stated the meter was on the other side of the property , however, there is no meter on the lot. The vehicle is parked in front of the payment option as pictured. The notice was appealed and the agent, as a courtesy, reduced the notice in half but was met with refusal and accusations of discrimination. Parking in a paid lot without payment is not permitted for any amount of time. We will offer one last courtesy and extend the reduced amount until the end of business day Nov 28th. Thank you. Have a great day!

Subject: Request for Fee Waiver and Further Clarification
Dear *** *****,
Thank you for your response. I would like to provide further context regarding this situation and formally request a waiver of the fees.
On the day in question, I was not feeling well but still had to drop off items for my friend. My physical condition made it difficult for me to navigate the parking lot and locate the payment option. I asked my friend in the building where the meter might be, but her definite response was that she didnt know. Despite my efforts, I could not find the meter and had to complete my task quickly.
Additionally, there was a fire alarm that day, and everyone had to evacuate the building, which added to the chaos. I noticed that many workers avoided parking in the lot, suggesting potential operational issues with the parking system. This raises concerns about accessibility and the clarity of the signage, especially for individuals like me, who were physically limited at the time.
This situation feels discriminatory because my physical concerns, which prevented me from paying the fees, are not being acknowledged. Enforcing parking rules without considering such circumstances unfairly penalizes individuals who are unable to comply due to legitimate physical limitations.
I kindly request that the fees be waived entirely in light of these circumstances. I also encourage further investigation into the accessibility and clarity of the parking system at this location to prevent similar issues for others in the future.
Thank you for your understanding and consideration.
Regards! *****

If payment cannot be made, they are not permitted to park, for any amount of time. Doing so will result in a notice being issued and/or tow. This is also stated on the sign. We did offer a courtesy reduction on 2 different occasions, each with a deadline, however, neither were utilized. Unfortunately, the notice is valid and now fully payable online. I am rejecting this response because:Subject: Re: Parking Notice ***************************************** you for your response. I would like to clarify a few points regarding the situation.
On the day in question, there was a fire alarm that caused disruption, and I believe this context is important. Additionally, the reduction amounts offered have been inconsistent, changing back and forth, which gives the impression that the offer was not legitimate from the outset.
I was also offended by the suggestion that I should not drive because I cannot see. To be transparent, I was unaware of the specific parking procedure that day because there was almost no one present, and I did ask around to understand how to proceed. Despite my efforts, it seems your process has been applied in a way that feels both unfair and forceful.
Moreover, the shifting reduction amounts and the approach taken in this matter come across as dishonest. Given these concerns, I feel it is important to address the broader implications of how this situation was handled.
Sincerely,
LishaBusiness Response

In general when no payment is produced, customers are not permitted to park regardless of the circumstances and may receive a notice or be towed. Please keep this in mind when parking in the future. Hello,
Our goal with any customer,is to provide the reason the notice was issued to prevent it from happening again in the future. The notice was issued for parking in visitor parking without permit. Tenants are made aware that they are to bring pass to their guest when they arrive, so as their vehicle is not parked without the permit being displayed. When the patroller arrived, the vehicle was not displaying permit. He is then contracted to issue a notice immediately. This will be cancelled as a warning/onetime courtesy. If this should happen again in the future the notice will be considered valid.Thank you.

On November 17, 2024, I parked in the parking lot I have parked in previously over the years to attend the theater. When I scanned the ** code on the sign in the lot to pay, I received a message that did not allow me to make a payment, and that stated parking was free until 5pm. It also stated payments could be made after 3pm. No further information or explanation was provided. I was confused, but it sounded like I was fine to attend the show, as parking was FREE UNTIL 5PM. When I came out of the theater at 3:51, I had a ticket on my windshield, stating "No Advance Payment" under the Particulars. The ticket requires $41.50 if paid within 5 days, and $83.00 if paid after 5 days. Ticket information: Reference #: **********, Date of Notice 11/17/2024, Time of Notice 3:22 pm, Checker #: *****, License No. ******, OR *******, Lot Code: E895 Lot Location E895 ***********************I am happy to pay for parking, which I was not allowed to do. I was with someone who parked in a ******* parking lot and there was a fair going on right next to where we parked. We looked at it then walked to ******* to shop, When we returned we had a parking ticket. I thought easy solution ill just dispute and explain we shopped at the store. But they denied it saying "We looked at it so we where obviously there for the far not to shop". I mistakenly used my info for the dispute and now I'm being threatened wit collections for a vehicle that I cant even drive let alone own. So I called back explaining its not my car and was called stupid and I should be more careful with my info (which obviously but it was an accident) and was told I need to somehow prove I don't own the car or they are taking me to collections.Business Response

On 10/28/2024 at approximately 5:25 I parked at the Diamond Parking facility opposite ********************. I was attending a game with a friend who volunteered to pay the parking fee as I had agreed to drive. My friend used the posted QR code as the starting point for making the payment. The next day I saw there was a plastic bag under my wipers with a parking ticket reference **********. I checked with my friend as I had observed him making the payment. He informed me that his credit card had been scammed within minutes of making the payment. A further charge was made before he realized and cancelled his card. Checking online I discovered that QR code scams are becoming a frequent issue especially with parking facilities who use them as a direct link to a payment site. A bad actor simply needs to alter or replace the posted QR code with one of their own that leads to a fake payment site and they are free to capture your information.I notified Diamond parking of this, effectively reporting to them a breach in their payment process. I was asked for proof that the card had been scammed which I forwarded to them the next day. Rather than treating this with the urgency I would have expected they completely ignored the documents I had sent them and demanded a payment instead. No apology or mention of steps they intended to take to prevent this from happening again. It has become apparent from my dealings with this company that they don't have any security measures or controls in place to address this kind of scam which is both simple and obvious. Using a QR code posted in a public place that is often unattended and that is used to direct customers to a payment site is a security no-no. By accepting credit cards they should comply with the PCI-DSS regulations. It appears they have no formal process for regularly validating that these codes have not been tampered with putting all of their customers at risk.Business Response

DIAMOND PARKING SERVICECustomer Answer
Date: 11/25/2024
Complaint: 22541408
I am rejecting this response because:I am not trying to be intentionally difficult with this but Diamond Parking does not seem to understand basic security required to protect their customer's information. Case in point, this issue should be in the hands of their security team not a regional manager.
The fact that there were valid transactions from the same location on the same day proves nothing. There are a number of ways payment can be made for parking at this location. Many people will already have a parking app on their phones and as such will not need to scan ** codes. From a PCI-DSS perspective they just need to introduce a process for validating the ** codes they use for payment in a more formal way. This is a known problem widely reported yet I still don't see any acceptance from the company that they have an issue to address. Instead there appears to be an effort to prove that this never happened, some kind of user error etc. So to be clear, a ** code posted on a Diamond Parking payment board led to a fake site where card details were obtained and then instantly used in a fraudulent transaction.
I am not looking for anything from the company, I would just like them to recognize the problem and hopefully close the loophole to protect me and all their other customers in future. As an example, the company employs people to visit their parking lots to check the cars parked there have paid. Given a simple enhancement to the app they use, they could also scan any ** codes posted with a simple pass/fail when they do so. This could be done regularly and the results logged on their system. Not hard and a considerable improvement on checking codes days after a reported incident.
Please take responsibility and become better at what you do.
Sincerely,
***** *******
