On December 30th 2024 a maintenance worker from corporate came to our unit to fix our hot water around 4pm (we had not had hot water in 4 days). He proceeds to start working on the water heater. He goes to his truck to grab a part comes back continues work then roughly ******************************************************* our apartment. According to my wife every ***** seconds a burst of water is being blasted at the worker. The complex assured us reimbursement for a hotel stay of up to $250/per night for as long as our unit was inhabitable. Both my wife and I were assured this by ***** ******* who is the properties assistant manager. We were told ourself and our downstairs neighbor (****) who was also affected by the incident that the reimbursement could be given in the form of a check or taken off of our rent. Since then they have restricted that assurance and upon speaking to the regional manager (****** ******) she was given instruction to communicate to us from the vice president (****) to point us in the direction of renters insurance for all our expenses (hotel, food, and grocery). However the renters insurance policy that we were suppose to be assigned to us the complex never set up. So we dont have a policy to refer to. We have currently spent well over $6,000+ in hotel expenses, grocery, and food. My wife and I have two boys a 10 yr old and a 1 yr old who were present when the incident occurred. The communication has been inconsistent between my wife and I on when our unit would be available. We are seeking reimbursement from them from what we have paid including emotional distress from being displaced from our home. As well as a penalty for them breaching their contract. My lease needed the first week of September 2024. I have been trying to get my security deposit back but unable to. Ive spoke with multiple **** at the apartment office and all promised I would receive a check but still have not received anything as of today 1/22/25. - Turned in my keys the first week of September 2024. Left my new address. - Month or so passed and received nothing. Called and emailed the office and was told it is on the way as there has been delays but a check was sent. - Called again in Nov as nothing came in. Was told it was delivered to ********** although the new address was provided. Told a new check would be cut. - Called again in late December as nothing showed up once again and that it went to ********** again. - Was told a new check would be cut but 2.5 weeks later I have not received anything. - Called again on 1/17/25 and spoke to a manager. *** paid a $250 deposit to apartment on November 22nd 2024 and got denied. Was told they would mail a check to the address I provided and havent received anything. Its going on 3 months and I still havent received my refund. Ive called multiple times and nobody answers the phones. Ive had to go up there multiple times in an attempt to collect my refund and be told the same thing every time which is theyll leave a note to the manager. I was approved for these apartments, went through the inspection process, agreed on rent amount and didn't hear from them until a month later for them to say not approved. I've been having issues with this apartment complex since I moved in here. They've been trying to overcharge me for things that are already paid for. I have receipts and screenshots of everything they've tried charging me for, even things they tried to lie about. A couple checks were missing, two which were mine that I paid rent for and the other being from the government assistant program that helps out when you need it. I have been trying for over a year to get this situated, and nothing gets resolved. Every other month is a new number and honestly, their numbers don't even make sense. Ive gone to the office MULTIPLE times to get help, they have new people working there all the time. I always have to explain what's going on, they say they'll look into it, they never do and come back with a different number that I owe. I know I do owe money, but 7k??? Absolutely not. I've sent them all of my proof for what they're charging me for and they still don't want to fix it. I need some assistance. This just can't continue to happen. People are stressed enough, I don't need more on the table.Business Response

My experience with Satori has been nothing short of a nightmare. I paid $300 for an application fee ($50) and an administrative fee ($250). However, the floor plan I was looking for wasn't available and therefore I should've been refunded $250 for the administrative fee. The agreement I signed allows Satori 30 days to refund the money. So far, it's been 80 days and still no refund. I've sent numerous emails, had several phone conversations, and in person conversations with ***************** and they still haven't paid the refund due to me. The last time I spoke with the apartment manager, I was told that I'd receive a phone call by the end of that day but they never called. This company is poorly managed and completely unorganized, not to mention their lack of professionalism.Customer Answer

According to the attached document the apartment complex would like to charge me to replace one room's worth of carpet. This carpet damage was the result of mold and moisture seeping through the wall and floor boards. I had raised issue with the moisture and mold in the past. I will not be paying to replace carpet that wasn't new and had no damage caused by anything I did. I left the apartment in perfect condition (exceptionally clean) and I have a video to reflect this. I have had numerous issues with the new management of this property and therefore I kept video and photo evidence expecting they would retaliate. Thank you.Business Response

I am an active duty military member who was leasing an apartment at ****** on 8th, along with two other military roommates. I legally ended my lease, complying with the military clause in my leasing agreement as well as the protections provided by the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act after being reassigned to a new base in a different state. After moving out of the apartment, the leasing office charged my account over $9000 in liquidation fees, which is unlawful under both my lease and the ***** I have been trying to work with my apartment for almost two months now, but have been lied to when Ive talked to the leasing manager in person and they have been entirely unresponsive to every email I send. I scheduled an apartment inspection for a time when I was present at the property, but the leasing agent never attended. They then did an inspection when no one was present and kept our entire security deposit, added charges, but didnt provide an itemized receipt or pictures detailing what the specific damages were. They also waited until we were physically gone from ******* before charging the account so I can no longer go in person and try to remediate this. I am currently working with my military defense attorney to get legal protection, but expect to get the cancellation charges removed from the account and an itemized damages list provided. The apartment again is being unresponsive. While I am acting to remediate this issue, I would also like this series of disrespectful and unlawful treatment to be made known so that future military members can make an informed decision about the risks of leasing with this company.Customer Answer

Hi I signed a contract and notified in office the day I was going to move out of their apartment complex I notified them three months with advanced notice. I moved out June 17 2024 and paid off my entire balance. I had given them $400 in deposit, with them promising when I moved out they would return it if all was in order. I get a bill stating that I moved out July 1st and that I had to pay that full months rent. I refused since I didnt live there they never notified me that I needed to turn in the mailbox key at the office and sign a paper instead I left the key on the kitchen counter. they should have told me this when I had first notified them of my move out date. I get a bill for $550 so they keep my deposit and want to charge me the $150 I tried email and calling their office to despute multiple times I get no answer I called the company who is over them multiple times and they refused to help me resolve the situation telling me I needed to contact the apartment complex and that they werent going to help me. Now I have a 50 point ding on my credit score because I didnt want to pay for something that I felt that was unfair and pay for a balance when my move out date was June 17th and not July 1st. Im willing to let them keep my $400 deposit if they write off the $150 balance and remove my credit score damage. ***** ****** is the one who I talked to several times and was the one who refused to help me telling me he couldnt do anything and to reach out to the ****** who I couldnt get in contact with
