I have attempted MULTIPLE times through multiple different methods (the online opt out request form, emailing the support email address directly, and filling out a ticket with customer service) and each time I am met with either an error or an automated message saying my request is unable to be completed. It is UNETHICAL to host my personal information on this website without my consent and then make it impossible to actually remove my information. If the website truly is complying with the law that I have the right to opt out of my personal information being hosted on this website, there should be no reason why they cannot remove my information and notify me when this has been completed. However, as it relates to the charge amount you are disputing your attempt to cancel occurred outside our stipulated time frame of the trial. Please note the trial was valid for 5 days so if purchased on January 21, 2025, you are required to cancel before January 26, 2025.

The deal offered was a 5-day trial period for $1 with no subscription charge if I canceled before the trial period was up.I signed up for the White Pages Premium trial period for $1 on 01/23/2025, tried it and didn't feel it would be useful to me. I canceled on the same day. I should have only been charged $1 + taxes but they charged me the subscription rate of $21.79 on 01/29/2025 even though I canceled.I contacted White Pages support and attached a PDF copy of the dated email they sent confirming that I had successfully canceled before the trial period was up and asked for a refund.They told me that I signed up and they couldn't refund the charge and indicated that they showed me as still signed up. I tried to tell them there must be a mistake and asked for an email address that I could forward to them the cancellation email from their system that clearly showed that I had canceled well before the trial period was up. They didn't give me any options to forward their system's emails to prove my claim and after I tried several times, they finally just told me that I should contact my credit card company if I disputed the charge.Business Response

It would have been nice if WhitePages would have admitted that their system charged me even though I had cancelled before the trial period ended. However they never did which implies I was lying and never let me show them emails their system that proved my case. Had they done that and then gave me the refund, I never would have submitted a complaint. On January 28th at 9:09PM I received an email from WhitePages thanking me for subscribing to their premium subscription plan. Upon receiving this email, I immediately emailed their helpdesk, I received an email back, acknowledging my email to their helpdesk.On the 29th I received an email from their helpdesk letting me know I needed to call a phone number, I called the phone number, during that phone conversation, the woman I spoke with whose name was *******. Let me know that a membership to WhitePages was signed up using my phone, since I did not do this we determined that it had to be fraud. While on the phone with her, I took a peek at my browser history on my phone and I only had four visits to WhitePages which was me reaching out to the help desk. ******* also let me know that the plan that was signed up for had 100 searches, and 17 were used, she read me off three of the names that were searched, which are not people I have ever known or have heard of. She was insistent that it came from my phone and didnt seem to think that it could have been fraud. I was insistent that I absolutely did not make this purchase. She then let me know she was reaching out to the fraud department and then we hung ***** the meantime, I reached out to my bank and let them know the situation, we canceled my debit card and blocked WhitePages from making any further charges on my account. We added a stop payment as well. I advised my bank that WhitePages was insistent that I subscribed because it came from my phone and they were disregarding the fact that my phone couldve been mimicked.Took necessary steps with *****, ******** Malwarebytes, and the Internet that my phone was on. I received an email back from the fraud ***** letting me know they werent going to refund me because I made this charge. I did not make this charge and this is fraud. They sent a refund over for $19.80 10 min before this charge at 8:53PM, that I also did not authorize or do or ask for.Business Response

I have noticed that with White Pages some of my information regarding myself is incorrect and published online incorrectly. I contacted the company today and I was told that I could not speak to anyone at all in the company to try to change my incorrect information. I find that Impossible as there Must Be someone at the top of the Company who can modify my incorrect information given. I gave them my information and they looked me up and said there was nothing they could do about it. I asked to be transferred to someone else or to be given a phone number for someone else and they told me that no one at all in the company can ever modify information. I still find that impossible to believe. My goal was simply to correct errors that are on White Pages website. I have people sending me things with my name spelled incorrectly and it is exactly like it is on White Pages incorrect. Also there is some incorrect information regarding me that I would like to have removed and once again I was told ******* is how my name should be spelled.... ****** *********.I see "Kirfides," which is incorrect. As of 1/25/25, my information is still posted on your website even though you said it was removed. Also, my son's names is Jalen Law. He has removal request and I don't want to see the combination of my past information with his current information.
