      They offer nothing in way of protection against fraudulent hosts. They literally wont do anything for you if the host is not responsive. You are assuming all risks when you rent through them. They stand behind nothing.

      **VRBO Failed to Protect Me from Fraud** **DO NOT TRUST VRBOS "GUARANTEE"** I booked and paid in full for a rental property in Ft. Lauderdale, ***, through VRBO, only to discover the host was a **fraudster who disappeared** with my money (Over $10,000.00 USD). Despite providing proof of the scam, VRBOs customer service **refused to help** recover my funds or take accountability. "I'm extremely frustrated with VRBO's customer service. They opened a case for me, but every time I call, I'm met with the same questions about the issue all over again. It's like they're not even looking at my case file. I've already explained the problem multiple times, and it's getting infuriating to have to repeat myself. Not exactly what I'd call 'customer service'... More like 'customer repeat-yourself service'" After weeks of back-and-forth, I was forced to **dispute the charge through my bank** to get my money backVRBO did **nothing** to resolve this. Their "Book with Confidence Guarantee" is a **complete lie**they offer no real protection against scams. **WARNING TO OTHERS: ** - VRBO **does not verify hosts** properly. - Their support **ignores fraud cases**. - Youll have to **fight your bank** for a refund. Never using VRBO again. **Stay away unless you want to risk being robbed. **

      I booked a Vrbo rental (Reservation ID: #************ for $5,892.20, which was canceled by the host. I have attempted for over a month to receive a refund through Vrbo, but neither I nor my credit card company (***********) has received a response from Vrbos billing team.Despite escalations and email correspondence with support staff, including Leomer from Vrbo, I have received no resolution or meaningful response. ***********'s chargeback team has also been ignored.This lack of communication and refund is placing significant financial strain on me, and I am asking for immediate action to refund the full amount.Desired Resolution:A full refund of $5,892.20 to my original payment method.

      By far the worst travel experience Ive ever had has been with VRBO. We booked a hotel through VRBO and not a single picture matched the room we ended up in. It was also missing many of the amenities listed. I messaged their customer service in the app and sat on several phone calls with them over an hour long. Their customer service is horrendous. They continuously place you on hold and ask you to send them an email and attach photos which they just dont respond to. Im furious they did not provide the accommodations they listed and then ignored my several requests for help. After my hour long phone call yesterday they said they would send me an email within 24 hours to provide a refund which of course they didnt send. I will never use VRBO again

      VRBO Property at ********************** in ******** *** owner, ***** A *******. Cancelled our reservation the morning that we were to arrive, that we made over 2 months ago with the reason "Sorry, but that property was reserved on another portal and here is your refund". We were going in for a wedding so we had to scramble to find hotel rooms and lucky Holidy Inn Express was able to accomodate.

      I booked a VRBO rental through Expedia Group after losing my familys home to a flood. I was in crisis, urgently trying to find a safe place for my two children one of whom is autistic and has significant sensory needs.The property was advertised as a private bungalow, but we arrived to discover that there were tenants living in the basement something that was not made clear in the listing. The home was noisy, not secure, and completely inappropriate for my childs needs. I raised these concerns immediately, explained our situation in full, and left the property within 48 hours.Despite this, VRBO denied my refund request. To make matters worse, a representative called my childs autism-related sensory concerns minor issues. I cannot express how upsetting and dehumanizing that language is to a parent of a neurodivergent child.Weeks later, I returned to the property and found clear signs that someone else had been occupying the unit while I was still being charged fresh bedding, flowers, a vehicle in the driveway, and more. VRBO has not responded to this new evidence, and the host has ignored all further outreach.I paid for nearly a full month and received less than two days of service. The way this company has treated my family is unacceptable. There was no compassion, no accountability, and no protection for families with special needs.Expedia Group and VRBO should not be trusted by vulnerable families or those with accessibility and sensory needs. Shameful experience.Also an A+ rating when a company is not customer focused is shameful, the consumers rating should be taken into account.

      The worst VRBO experience ever: VRBO, ********************************* ********, NY Trash was all over the area where trash was kept. None of the trash cans had lids, only one trash can was available for our use, an animal had rummaged through the trash.The was refrigerator was NOT ********** black ********* ants, in beds, all over kitchen, on walls, bathrooms, everywhere.The shower head in the master bedroom did not function well. We could not get water temperature adjusted, the tub was not clean.The upstairs shower curtain was filthy.There was no soap of any kind available to shower with, if not provided this should have been ************* of the amenities listed was washer/dryer for the first few days we did not even have access to them, (they were behind locked doors) then when access was provided only washer was operational, dryer was not working. (Gas problem)This brings us to the most egregious, and concerning part of our stay, on our return to the VRBO after a long day touring, Thursday (April 17) we arrived to a freezing home. NO heat, NO stove, NO hot water.I began calling VrBO, **** company, no response.When the utility gentlemen arrived the following day, he assured us that the homeowner was notified of a SCHEDULED shutoff of gas for inspection. The homeowner knew that during the time we had paid to rent the home there would be NO heat, NO stove, NO hot water.This is FRAUD! Then not to respond when called on it shows a lack of morals, ethics, and human decency.The whole time we were there the trash issue was never resolved.They charge over $500 a night, NOT worth it.

      Used VRBO to book a vacation property. Got am immediate confirmation that the property was booked to me for the dates I put in. My credit card was charged. The Host called me 30 minutes later to say the property was not available and VRBO should not have allowed it to be booked. Although my "refund" was given through the VRBO website 24hrs later, my credit card company of course did not release the funds for 7 days which I need to book another place (not through VRBO because of this. I was offered no compensation or anything to make this right. I have no confidence or trust in this business anymore to provide the services they advertise.
