      Just so disappointed in VRBO customer service. As many others have had happen, an owner ended up canceling my booking after confirming it. Fun times. Nothing like spending all the time researching the perfect place, having it booked, paid, confirmed...to then at some point in the future have it be canceled right from under you with no notice. Now vrbo pretended to care initially. They even gave a small onekey credit. Little did I realize that silly little credit was only valid for just 2 weeks and will be expired before it can be used. I'm over the smoke & mirrors. Time to use other ways to book vacation rentals.

      Awful. Run Away. Don't Plan To Sleep Through Water Noise Or Talk to Management 1. Water pipe noise in bedroom from pool directly above PH 04 all night the first night. Took management 24 hours to stop it temporarily. Noise kept coming back, and when they got around to it, they would stop the noise. Management admitted that's a problem with PH 04 -- after they got our money and after we'd complained for three days.2. Water leaks visible in ceiling and walls.3. Bedroom windows face the hall which has a motion sensor light so whenever anyone walks down the hall the bedroom gets the light - even with the shades down.4. Third day there was no hot water. Surprisingly it was fixed in an hour with new flashlight batteries.5. Management tries to ignore the issues by not responding to complaints. One phone number is disconnected. Another phone goes to voice mail.6. VRBO answers its phone and service *** tried calling **** Homes (the management company) but didn't get an answer either. They say it's Nola's problem. Wait times were between ***** minutes with VRBO.7. Asked for partial refund and **** and VRBO ignored request - no response. Will call credit card company to file a dispute.8. Messages from ************** are all automated and have nothing to do with questions asked./9. Check-in *** was 30 minutes late.10. Neighborhood is what you'd expect - a mix of new but mostly run-down buildings. View from terrace is of the run-down area with 2 slivers of ocean in front of you. If you look to the side you can see more ocean. Pics very deceptive.

      I was ripped off. Charged for a service that vrbo never provided. Booked a property but never recieved confirmation in the application. When I reached out to the host numerous times I did not hear back. Vrbo customer support initially told me I would be refunded. A month later and I am not refunded. Customer support now tells me it was my mistake and I won't be refunded. Over 1.5 hours being passed transferred and put on hold. This is on vrbo to fix.

      Company is horrible and does not hold its hosts accountable. Booked a property January 5, 2024. Host literally waited 11 months and canceled the reservation less than a week before, December 23, 2025. Went on to book another property, only to have the same thing occur a day before check in. If a customer cancels under such terms, their money is not refundable. Will NOT do business with this company again.

      They promise to give a refund on the phone and in writing but I just keep getting the run around. I have stayed with in all there posted guidelines and still not getting the refund owed to me. This place should not be open to take honest peoples money.

      Terrible host experience. They should just have an answering machine and a big notification on the website that says WE DONT WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU. You have to jump through hoops to even be granted the opportunity to do a live chat. ****** is a much, much better company, everything is easier and they actually have a customer service contact option that works. I received a suspect booking inquiry and, in the interest of trying to protect other hosts from what looks like a scammer, have spent the past 30 minutes trying to get in touch with a rep. ***** waiting....

      We arrived to find the toilet on the property not working. Fortunately one of us figured out how to fix it, when our first attempt to contact the host failed. The tap water smelled like sulfur. We also requested the hot tub be turned on but the owner was not responsive. Eventually we saw a grounds worker who found the owner. He said he turned it on but it never got hot. By then we had to start getting dinner ready. We also asked the host prior to booking if we could have family for dinner and Christmas gifts after. We were charged an extra guest fee in the app which was acceptable. However, the owner watched them arrive on camera, came down to yell at us, and proceeded to tell us we had to Venmo him extra funds. He was generally rude and made our entire experience extremely uncomfortable. Vrbo policy states charges should all be paid through the app, likewise we were charged a fee for a hot tub that didnt work.

      Totally bad experience! Rented a cabin in *************, hot tub was defective 1st night. Totally quit working the 2nd day, contacted *** no response. 3 Rd day still no response. I reach back out and they had maintenance come to say yea it's broken! Still no contact from ****! Said they would reach out at 10:15 am as of 2 pm still no response! Completely unprofessional and unacceptable! We paid good money for this cabin and hot tub as part of the package and yet still no resolution! Very disappointed and basically ruined our Christmas vacation! 0 Stars....

      VRBO actively works to ensure that honest reviews of their listings are not posted on their website. Despite critical issues at the property we rented, my review was rejected without informing me, with no opportunity for me to understand why or make a correction. Instead, they informed me that the rental company submitted a review of me for other hosts to read (surely a bad review because we had to ask to have so many things fixed like a dirty, non-functioning hot tub and pool, three broken toilets, and the list goes on). However, Im not able to even see the review they posted about me. Only allowing positive reviews on their site is FRAUD and misleading to renters. Renters beware - youre not getting what you pay for and no one but VRBO and the property owner will know.

      Poor customer service outsourced out of the ** to obviously cut costs. Policies and direction of this company has taken a bad turn. After over 10 years using this service, I was charged a large fee for allowing a customer to cancel due to their conditions changing. This was done thru a representative that had the customer on the phone after she called into the customer service line to explain her circumstances. As a multiple property host, it was the right call. VRBO would not allow me to appeal due to me not being informed of the fee until months later. They then said I couldnt appeal because too much time had passed. This is a poor excuse for why someone cannot appeal a fee. I was never informed until they realized my bank card on file had been compromised and unable to be charged and then attempted to collect from me that way. There was never an email or any type of notification. We will not be using vrbo any longer. I am also cancelling over $10,000 in rentals because I refuse to pay this fee that is unappealable. Our properties stay booked without vrbo anyway.
