The customer service has been atrocious. Our stay was cut short due to the discovery of cockroaches at 2 in the morning. We killed 7 of them. After calling the support line, we were told that we would be refunded the nights we were not staying there and the cost of an alternative accommodation. 2 weeks later, the support team has said that I have to pursue with the host. Obviously, the host is not responding. I'll be going to small claims court to get my refund. Consumers beware.

Situation: VRBO wrote an email letterhead detailing instructions for me on what to do when we could not get into our VRBO housing when the host was unresponsive. They told us to book with a VRBO approved hotel and we would be refunded with a provided receipt.Action: We booked a hotel for the accommodation driving out 20 mins to get to a VRBO approved housing with Hotels.com. We follow up with the receipt via email to start the refund communication.Result: After 3 months of following up and 10+ times calling their customer service for a refund with a email follow up chain with document notes, they continue to state that their America's Guarantee Team will be looking into the issue as a high-priority task. This is a terrible business that just lies to their customers with false promises. PLEASE, avoid booking at all costs to any VRBO rental or partnering company.

BEWARE. WE ARE ABSOLUTELY DIGUSTED BY OUR EXPERIENCE. Let me start with the host was a nice lady but there is absolutely no excuse for how we were treated. We hate to leave this review as we selected this host based on the 5 stars, clearly these stars are deceiving. Let's start with the list of issues here.None of the outlets in the 1st bedroom worked There was mold in the coffee pot and the inside of the shower lini g in the master bathroom. The ** was broken in the living room which made it very difficult to entertain with 4 adults and a toddler. We have to move all the rugs because they were filthy and smelled. There was so much debris, dust, and dirt behind the sofa and beds, when we asked why it was not cleaned, we were told that is considered a deep cleaning (that makes absolutely no sense). The mattress were horrible, old and absolutely uncomfortable. With all of these concerns, we contacted vrbo and they only care about the host and are very bias. We will never booked using vrbo or this with this host again.

I am so ripped off by a false-advertised so called "luxury" rental and VRBO does not stand behind it's renters or ensure that the listings are accurate. The property we rented is far from luxury and not even comparable to a 2-star hotel. On VRBO website, there is misleading review of this property for 4.9/5.0 on other travel sites. When I asked where I can find the review and how that review got populated. VRBO can't tell us and the host can't tell us. This property is rented out by stayhikura.com. It seems most of their properties did not get any review on VRBO but only from other unknown sites. The good comments they put out from customers on ******** are all offline edited photo with same background. There is no legitimate address for this company can be found. This is a company scamming renters with false advertising. This property is full of dirt and germs which does not show on the photos. They probably took the pictures a few years ago. Then they promised to move me to another unit. The next day, they changed the availability of that property and told me that property is no longer available. The lights and, TV do not work in this property. What's worse is this property is so filthy and not livable. We ended up staying in the hotel. And now they say: "The unit that you have booked is the unit that you will be staying in."This rental agent requires a minimum of 90 days booking and demanded full payment way ahead of time so we cannot even cancel or refund after we see the property. How can a business advertise a property in such poor condition as "luxury" corporate housing without being caught? They do charge as corporate housing though. We rented this place only because we believed it is "luxury" as advertised!!! We spent a lot on a 96 days rental for no renter protection at all and money back guarantee within the first 24 hours of inspection.

A new host here and guests have been here at my property for a week now, no issues and everything is great. I call to see when I will get paid and they said due to me being a new host I wont get paid until 30 DAYS FROM THE **** THE GUESTS PAID! 30 DAYS! So while I have bills due such as electric, water etc. I have to wait 30 DAYS to see a dime! Per policy! Not sure who made up that ridiculous policy but it needs to be changed! I would have NEVER signed up if I had known that and Im sure other owners wont either! When you call all you get is the run around and nothing is resolved even with no guests complaints! **************** is the worst Ive ever dealt with! DO NOT SIGN UP WITH VRBO! Its all too sketchy and they do not care about their hosts and their hosts responsibilities!!!

Was going to ***** **********. Mom had a medical emergency. Admitted to hospital. Not able to stay in ***** as planned. Host would not cancel the reservation, or reschedule (which was requested). VRBO live agent suggested I contact a lawyer to 'address the host's behavior'. I have friends in ***** that know the owner of the house; they were disgusted.

Worst customer service! Property was listed non smoking and was not. Due to health concerns we couldnt stay. Both owner and VRBO refused to work with us. Lost our money to VRBO and had to pay double for hotel in the area. VRBO refuses to help because they are only a host site. Trying to make money without accountability use Airbnb much better service and more reliable.

VRBO does not stand behind it's renters or ensure that the listings are accurate. We spent a lot of money on a terrible house that lied in it's listing. I made a formal complaint and asked for a partial refund, but because I was in contact with the host, they let it go. I contacted VRBO again after the host gives me a 4 out of 5 because I had listed all the issues with the house on my review and they wouldn't remove the review of me. As a renter, you have no rights at all, and the company does not do anything if you are treated poorly. Avoid at all costs!

I am extremely frustrated with this company, and do not recommended that anyone makes any kind of business with them. I have never done any kind of business with VRBO. A few months ago, I looked at my credit card statement and saw a bunch of transactions I hadn't done myself. One of these transactions was from VRBO. I called my credit card right away to tell them to freeze my credit card so no more fraudulent transactions could be charged. My bank told me to reach out to the merchants to ask them to refund the transactions.VRBO refused to do it. I first spoke to an agent on the Live Chat, allegedly named ************** This person was rude, incompetent and dumb. She refused to help me on account that I couldn't provide a reservation number. The heck? Of course I do not have a reservation number - I am NOT THE PERSON who fraudulently used my credit card to make the reservation. But I do have a screenshot of my credit card statement, with the exact date the transaction was charged to me, as well as the exact amount. There is no way VRBO isn't able to look through their own files and find the transaction.I then tried to call the phone number (at their 877 phone number which ends in ****) and spoke with a male agent, who was just as dumb and useless. He flat-out refused to help me. At this point, I suspect that this entire business is a scam. A legitimate business wants to deter fraudulent activity and does not want a bad reputation. So why is VRBO refusing to cooperate? I will be looking into my legal options and reporting this business to the consumer protection agency of my jurisdiction.

3k a night house. Not as advertised. Listing used real estate photos. Couches and chairs had stains. Ok. But beds unmade and Stained duvets - gross as if someone just crawled out of bed. Advertised as exceptional and photos were amazing. But not for 3k a night. Dirt and sand in sink, pet parrot squawking in garage. Advertised as a duplex but a sliding pocket door unlocked and unlatched opens to the owners or other rental unit with a dog. Pet birds at doorway. Someones wetsuit hanging on railing and full bathroom of personal toiletries medicines and beauty products. Like someone fled the scene. Property owners were still there cleaning at check in time and asked me to leave for an hour. When I came back, no one there - unlocked gate and door. and I saw and photod and videod screeching bird and doors that locked on their side but not on mine - I was done. Called Vrbo immediately and they took my photos/video and said they would have supervisor call back and its been 3 days of the 4. Have not been at rental since first 20 mins. Now they say nothing they can do. Still no supervisor call. They dont care the ***** cleaning protocols promised werenT honored, they dont care falsely advertised as a duplex with common unlocked pocket door between units. Disputing charge with credit card company but DO NOT RENT with Vrbo. Zero **************** nor protection for your hefty service fee.
