Called Senske to spray for a bug problem on our bushes on 07-17-23 and paid $160.00. Received a bill recently for $160.00 that indicated we had service on 04/23/24. We did not sign up for continued services in 2023. (2) There was no indication at our house that Senske was here to spray. The billing department indicated that on the original 2023 visit the salesman signs us up for continued spraying. I asked to see a copy.. They don't have copies or receipts. And, that we didn't call and cancel the 2024 spraying. I did today cancel any renewals or continued spraying. We did not sign up for continued service we have no record that that they were even here on 2024. This feels like a scam and I am not happy about it. We should not have to pay the $160.00 and it should be corrected invoice showing zero. ( I have not paid the bill) I talked to the billing department at ************ and then their cancelllation department.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: Sending the complaint forward in your company is only part of the solution. I want the invoice to be zero and a corrected invoice sent. I justreceived another letter reminding me of the amount owing. I would expect a response within seven calendar days of this memo.
Sincerely,

I canceled my service with Senske in fall of last year (2023). Despite my cancellation of all services, Senske came to my house this spring (2024) and performed treatments without my authorization or consent. They are now emailing and calling and harassing me to pay a $386 balance for treatments that I never signed up for. I have attached my contract with Senske to show that I did not initial the bottom line because I specified that I did not want my services to continue after 2023. I have spoken with Senske representatives over a dozen times now without any resolution.Business Response

We hired Senske services to do a one time pest control in 2023. I did not authorize any additional treatments. On April 2, 2024, Senske services conducted a pest control application without my authorization. When I called to dispute the charge, the response was: "you have to cancel services...it's written in our billing statement." ************ has done this to me in the past and their Business practice for doing this is unfathomable. I will never do business with Senske again and this practice of making it the customer's responsibility to stop service they never authorized in the first place, is ridiculous. It's like buying a magazine and all of a sudden you have a subscription bill. It's just not right and they have nothing from me in writing that authorizes them to provide service. It's trespassing.Business Response

After getting their information on ***** of Senske Landscaping, ****** and I spoke to them on March 20th where they said they would have somebody contact us within 2 to 5 business days. On March 26th and March 27th they were contacted to no avail. Then today we got an email that said they were coming out tomorrow with no discussion. I have tried to contact the owner I have tried to contact the office manager to tell them how inept they are that they can't even call us back that they have not picked up the phone to contact us and today we get an email saying they're going to come tomorrow. I called them and told them if they show up on my property tomorrow I will call the police that they are not allowed to come that they have mismanaged by not even having the courtesy to contact us. They wanted to charge us over $500 which we were willing to pay if they did their job. However they couldn't even do that much. We want an apology from this company they need to know that how they're pulling this c*** is unacceptable. And the person that I spoke with ******* can do absolutely nothing to help. I have asked now three times to hear from the owner to hear from the office manager to talk to a supervisor and have gotten nothing done. This is unacceptable and they should be held accountable for their unprofessional mismanaged business.Initial Complaint

I recently received a bill from Senske Services for a job that allegedly happened FIVE YEARS AGO. The first time I heard the name "Senske Services" was when I got an alert on my credit report. A collection agency is trying to collect a bill on behalf of Senske Services for work that was from many years ago. I called Senske Services and asked them what the bill is for. They said they performed work five years ago for me. I asked why they didn't call, email, or send a letter during the last five years. They couldn't give an answer. I then asked what address was the work done at. They provided an address that I do not live in. When I told them I think this is a mistake, they told me to take it up with the collection agency.Business Response

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration you've experienced regarding the recent bill. It's truly regrettable that you were unaware of any prior engagement with our company, and we understand your concerns regarding the lack of communication over the past five years. We are currently investigating the situation internally. Your feedback and account have been passed to the management team for follow up. - Senske ServicesCustomer Answer

Thank you for the response. I was able to talk to *********************** in your office. She was very helpful and was able to confirm that I was sent to collections by mistake. Since then the negative remark has been removed from my credit report. I want to confirm with Senske Services that this issue has been resolved and that there will be no further attempts to send me to collections for services that I never asked for. If Senske can guarantee that this won't happen again, I will withdraw my BBB complaint and remove the negative *********** reviews.Initial Complaint

For years I had a lawn service here in ******** and was very pleased with the service. Senske bought the company a couple years ago and I tried to stay associated with them. This year I found that a credit to my account from last year was still not used. So, instead of leaving the money in Senske's account indefinably I requested a refund. I received the check in less than 2 weeks. I had a service issue with them on my first application this year. I waited all day for the service to be done and discovered that Senske had cancelled the application and during several phone calls with them that day they never told me it had been cancelled. I complained to the area manager and wrote a letter to the owner. I cancelled my service and was told they would have the refund to me in a few days. I called after a couple of weeks later and discovered that the service had been cancelled and they did not authorize a refund. I complained and told them I believe this lack of a refund was due to my complaint to the manager and owner. Well, my penalty for complaining should be finished and I would like them to refund my $436.50Customer Answer

I received the refund check on 03/13/24. The check was cut two days after I filed this complaint. Last night, 03/14/24, a representative of Senske called and offered to work with me to stay as a customer. I advised him that it has been almost a month since the incident. I sent a letter to the President of Senske and the regional manager, and received nothing from them for several weeks until his phone call last night. I informed him I had already hired another company, so he thanked me and the conversation ended. A DAY LATE AND A DOLLAR SHORT, comes to mind.Initial Complaint

I rented this home prior to purchasing it. As a renter, the previous landlord used Senske services for treating trees on the property. When Senske was on the property, they had me sign some type of paperwork related to the service. I bought the home and do not use the chemicals Senske uses on my home. Senske continued to try to come to my property and treat the trees. They called me and showed up in person to which I told them not to come and not to treat my trees with their chemicals. I repeatedly called and contacted them to stop coming and not to enter my yard. They then sent me bills for the services I didn't want claiming they did them when I was at work. Multiple people told me they couldn't help me at the company but one lady said she would clear it up when I called. Then they kept sending me bills and now have sent me to collections. They are clearly disorganized and won't delete my information from their company database. I want the collections corrected and for them to leave me and my property alone.Initial Complaint

Aug 15, 2023: Requested a visit from an arborist to discuss tree health. The recommendation was to apply a spring and fall deep fertilization treatment, a summer inspection for pests, and winter dormancy spray. I agreed to the fall fertilization and winter protective spray for three (3) trees; 2x Linden trees and an American Elm. Prepayment in full for these services was made at this time (for $5.10 discount).Nov 6, 2023: The fall fertilization visit was made without establishing contact with me (the retired homeowner). A paper invoice was left at the front door. From the invoice note, I suspect the American Elm tree did not receive treatment however a Maple tree may have been treated instead (along with the 2 Linden trees).Dec 6 and 12, 2023: Scheduled visits for the dormancy spray did not occur. Of note, snow and fog may have rendered conditions unsuitable for applying the dormancy spray. I was not pre-informed of any decision to delay the visit.Dec 28, 2023: Received an email invoice claiming the dormancy spray service was completed on this date. As a retired individual I was at home the entire day and did not see any technician at my address. Nor did I see any evidence of spray having been applied. There were NO disturbances such as footprints in the snow around the trees. Dec 28 to current: I have made multiple attempts to contact the company via telephone and email. All result in empty apologies and promises that a company representative will be contacting me shortly. I've been patient through the holidays, however it seems the company has no integrity or interest in retaining me as a customer.Business Response

Better Business Bureau:
In addition to the response through the BBB system the area manager did contact me via telephone. After reviewing the the matter we both agree that the business needs to provide better communication with it's customers.
The invoice for a service not provided was credited back to my account. The company representative attributes the invoicing error to a recent software change. The representative committed to provide a spring service call as the replacement for the missed winterization visit.
My expectation is that technicians will contact me at the property prior to performing work. The manager agrees with this and is working to make this a policy all technicians are expected to follow.
I have reviewed the response and along with the additional communication directly to me, by the business, in reference to complaint ID ********. I find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Sincerely,

We needed to have our sprinklers blown out for the winter. My normal person couldn't do it this year, so I looked up other companies, made some calls, and Senske was available. I was quoted $50 over the phone. The guy came out, was here for 10 minutes and left. A month later we get a bill in the mail saying we were overdue. This was our first bill from them, and it was for $150. I've had multiple phone calls with this company over the bill being incorrect. They claim they have recordings stating I was quoted $150 but won't let me hear it. I would have never agreed to $150, because the normal cost for this is $40-$50. This is basically their word against ours, but I was not quoted $150, nor would I ever hire a company who charges that much.Business Response

I canceled this service in August of 2022. I received a bill for services from them for November 2022. I called and told them I had canceled their service and when someone showed up to do services, I told them I canceled service. They did not do any service and left. I called and talked to a branch Manger last year and thought this was handled. I received another will dated 10/23/23 saying that I owed $109 20. I called on 10/30/23 and was told a supervisor would call me. I called again, on 10/31 and was told someone would call me. I called again on 11/7/23, told it was being escalated to the Branch Manager. I called again today, 11/1523 and was told this is now in collections and i would habe to take it up with them. I am 91 years old and cannot understand a business like this. I tried my best to resolve, but they have never called me to fix this error.
