      The BECU from 5 years ago is NOT the BECU of today. This is a horrible banking institution with atrocious customer service! I used to recommend this bank to everyone... now I'm researching what bank I'm going to take my business to! I recently had a phone call with one of their customer service reps...it was hands down the worst experience I've ever had with a financial institution! Not only was the employee not helpful, she was downright rude and basically hung up on me. I have a credit score of 800+ and take my financial dealings seriously... clearly this bank does not! If they want to make things right THEY CAN CALL ME FOR A CHANGE! I'm sick of being bounced around from department to department with zero resolution. Worst bank ever!

      I went to a ************ station and was charged $175 for $14 worth of gas. I disputed the fraudulent charge with BECU but they did not refund the money. In this time with so much credit card fraud going on, I need a bank that will look out for me! BECU will not!

      I first called BECU mortgage department 4/26 regarding my deceased loved ones mortgage account. After being offered no condolences and asked what right we had to information, I explained we are the successor trustees for the trust which is the legal owner of mortgaged property. I was told to send in a full copy of the trust, photo ID, and death certificate and I would be mailed documents to sign. The full copy of the trust should not be legally needed but I faxed requested documents 4/27. They had no alternative to email an electronic copy and we live ************************************************************************ We had also established a trust account with ********************** banking office and provided a copy of the death certificate to them but was told the BECU mortgage department was a different entity and could not verify information from banking side. After verifying documents were received, I was told they would review and I would be contacted if anything further was needed. I received no call or mail so called 5/15 and was told they were still reviewing and someone would get back to me. I received no call again so called on 5/22 and was told they mailed a letter requesting additional documents on 5/2. The previous rep did not mention this and no mail was received. I was told an additional letter was mailed 5/22 requesting proof of relationship or court filing. Neither of those are legally required in this situation. The deed for the property shows the trust is the legal property owner and is easily verifiable through the Snohomish County Property Information site. I requested speak to legal department and was told someone would call by Wednesday. I am still awaiting that call. I feel BECU is either incompetent in interpreting trust documentation, acting in a punitive nature and unwilling to grant ******* or acting in a discriminatory manner by withholding information we are legally entitled to in order to fufill our fiduciary duties as successor trustees.

      I will say, that having been a BECU customer for nearly a decade (as well as having many business accounts with them), they have taken a turn that is not enjoyable as a customer. While they strive to be the local credit union, they have turned into the **** of America of credit unions. As an example, here is my most recent situation. I got an email in the middle of the night to their updated Terms and Conditions, stating that arbitration is the new way forward for customers with financial disputes with the organization. I called BECU customer service to see how this would affect my business. The person on the phone said "I am not sure what you are speaking about, let me speak with my manager". I waited on hold and was told they don't have answers, but that I could schedule an appointment at the bank. I asked them if there is someone in corporate that I could speak with. The individual on the phone said there is no phone number for corporate (odd when organizations won't let you contact them). So, I scheduled an appointment with the notes, and had to wait a week to be seen. I showed up, waited 45 minutes and the branch manager stated that he didn't know how to help but would have someone reach out to me. I sent an email stating that I had never heard back. No response. I sent another email this morning (after another week of waiting) and finally got a call back from another staff member. I asked if the legal team would speak with my lawyer for clarity, and he said no. He stated that the updated terms mean that all forward disputes would go through a mediator, not the courts. I asked who chooses the mediator and he said "BECU". When I asked him if that felt like a conflict of interest, he asked if there was anything else he could do for me before he hung up. So freaking unprofessional after waiting 2 weeks. Sad, but after seeing a 1 star rating on the BBB, it appears that it is not me alone feeling this.

      I had this misfortune of BECU picking up my truck loan from a dealership in 2019. It has been nothing but h*** every 3-6 months like clockwork. This is a terrible financial institution and the customer service has gone downhill at a very steady rate in the last 2 years. Do not bank with these guys.

      Im a Small Business owner in ****** and also a divorcee court ordered to retain my Mortgage and remove my ex husbands name. *** tried to assume the loan for my current residence Ive been living in and paying the mortgage since going through divorce for the past year and a half. From Day one, working with *************************, who just refused to give any explanation at all of how the process works or why I was denied, to *********************** who blatantly stated that their department was understaffed And no one cares if or when they get back to people because they arent paying overtime anymore since ***** was dying down, my opinion could been totally different if just one of them had clearly communicated some parameters or expectations. After multiple attempts at assumption, emails that go without answers, and high frustrations, I decided to step into a BECU and refuse to leave without some answers. All I hear is, I dont work in that department and I do not know the answer.I have excellent credit and zero debt. I also have a lot of liquid cash in the bank. I paid $45,000.00 towards my principal, re- amortized the loan and I was still denied. My mortgage payment currently is ******* at *****% for 16 years 9 mo left. Ive applied for a new loan, also through BECU, and have been approved. The payment of the new loan is ******* at 6% interest for 30 years. A whole ***** difference per month. The other different, my current 36% over all interest to BECU compared to the new 116% interest. How can BECU possibly say the stand by their members and want to support them!? More like, pillage them in my opinion. Can you explain how someone can be disqualified for a whole 81$? Couldnt I of just put down more money towards my mortgage to reduce the payment more? Any amount of communication would have been so appreciative from Cenlar but it just never happened. All attempts at communication from ANY other BECU staff is just that I dont work in that department so I do not know.

      BECU is the worst financial institution. I wish icould give them a 0, 1 star is too much for their worst customer service (the worst ever), when i call no one has a clue, often issue is not resolved, can't wait to close all my accounts with them, dealing with BECU is headache
