Im an a Banfield wellness plan customer who is paying $90+ a month (including spay). I have been paying the plan for a year and it is about to be renewed next month. My dog got some skin issue last month. She was itchy and she kept biting her hair off. So I called Banfield near me and I was told that my dog has to wait for 6 weeks before a vet is available to see her. I tried all Banfield hospital within 30 miles radius and I was told the same thing. (I live in **********************)So it doesnt matter how good your wellness plan is. Without being able to see a doctor, your plan is useless. Basically Im paying the money for nothing because I wont let my dog keep biting herself for another 6 weeks while waiting. Another vet only used 5 mins to identify her problem and prescribed her the medication. She is cured now, and Im disappointed to my self that I ever decided to count on Banfield for my dogs wellness. Im not renewing.Banfield Pet Hospital

This companys customer service is extremely bad, they have no help page on their website which forces you to write an email or go to the online chat where you will sit waiting indefinitely. My dog is terrified of vets now, he previously loved them, but banfield strongly encourages drop offs instead of appointments, where they keep your dog for most of the day before they even get to him, this is for small thing like vaccinations, an allergy shot, checking our a rash on pawstuff that should take no more than 15 mins. My dog had to do this several times in which I dont believe they even took him out to use the bathroom because he was bursting every time we left. I doubt they play or do anything other then leave them in a cage for 8hrs. My dog was always also extremely thirsty when leaving there too. Although I found the first year of puppyhood worth going to before Covid hit and they started doing more and more drop off appointments. As far as feeling good about leaving my dog there, Ill definitely be going somewhere where he isnt treated like hes an after thought on a conveyor belt of endless animals trying to be squeezed into one day. As for the staff they have always been very nice. Its the companys standards that have gone down, Im guessing to make more money. My dog now has extreme anxiety about going to the vet because he was left in a cage all day there, he absolutely LOVED going before because he loves people and other animals, now I have to try to undo that mentality he has and look for a veterinarian clinic that actually cares. Also I have never in my life written a bad review, Im a very tolerant person and avoid confrontation as much as I can. I just have had it. Ive had my dog enrolled for 3 years and like I said the first year was great, the last tworidiculous. Also have fun trying to get an appointment if you need something within a week or two.Banfield Pet Hospital

I took my 5 lb dog to this Banfield in *********** to find why he was sluggish and sleeping a lot. After the blood test, I was told that his kidney values were high and he has a urinary tract infection, so they wanted to change his diet to a prescription kidney diet. He was not to receive any chicken or other proteins. He was also prescribed omega 3 oil tablets, a phosphorous binder pill and antibiotics for 7 days. We were told to come back in two weeks for a re-check. At the next appointment the blood work was repeated and we were told that the kidney values were worse. They scheduled an ultra sound for two days later. We contacted another vet and they wondered why our dog was not treated with fluids, at least subcutaneously, right away and why the antibiotics were only for 7 days instead of at least 14. When we called and asked Banfield about fluids right away, we were told that they would give him fluids later that afternoon. We were desperate for help right away so we took him back that day for fluids. But we wondered, why did we have to ask for it? They claimed that we mentioned that normally we would begin fluids, but since you do not like to have your dog in a kennel we would not do so. That was insane!!! We would never let our precious little dog not be treated because of a kennel!!! We came to Banfield so that he WOULD be treated, not given subtle hints of treatment, if it was mentioned at all!! After the fluids we decided to go elsewhere for continued treatment. When we took him home we noticed that the IV port that they left there in case we return was bandaged so tightly that his little paw was badly swollen. So bad that he was limping around the home. He cried as the second vet tried to remove it from his damaged leg. Sadly, we lost our beloved little dog that weve had for many years due to what we believe was a mistreated urinary tract infection that was no longer responsive to antibiotics because the initial treatment was not given properly here.Banfield Pet Hospital

Be aware that Banfield just cares about the money not your pet I had a wellness plan with banfield. Took it more for the dental plan because they would put my dog down to clean his teeth. My plan started in 11/2021 and I made an appt for my dog to get his teeth clean in January I took him and asked the doctor if he or she I would pay the difference so that they can remove two spots on his tummy that will be checked for cancer because there was a concern that the spots being cancerous. According to the doctor, My dog was down for 2 minutes or less the doctor called me immediately. The doctor explained they had to wake him up and could not clean his teeth or do anything because of his heart murmur. She said they had trouble even to wake him up but that he was up and fine. He had one other visit and got his routine check up. However, *** died of his heart in the beginning of May, he was not taken to Banfield hospital for anything else. Banfields doctor told me *** could never be put down They never did the dental cleaning but according the forms the doctor completed the doctor stated that the the teeth were cleaned this year However, that is a lie, They did not , they did take his blood and did one or two things and that is it. I called to cancel my wellness insurance and they claimed My dog used all the benefits this year which is not true so I have to continue to pay until November 2022. I tried to get them to give me the amounts they charged the plan but they did not , they just send me copies with no amounts. *** was dead by May and they did not get his teeth clean but somehow I owe them for the entire year. *** did not used all his benefits this year and the doctors put down things on certificates that were not true. I believe they should have gone through all the details For example, what was used and how much do I still owe them. I do not believe we used all his wellness program benefits but I cannot stop them from collecting.Banfield Pet Hospital

A money hungry business that does not care about pets. My dog was having reactions to a medication they prescribed to him, and they refused to see him because they were "too busy". I've been a member with them for over 7 years and never once called for them to be seen same day. The way they run their business is awful! I should have ran the other way when I found out they were owned by MARS. I will never be returning. ZERO STARS!!!!Banfield Pet Hospital

My dog died last night. She was 14 years old. Up until 15 minutes ago, I have been a happy Banfield wellness customer. They helped take care of her and make sure she lived a long healthy life. When I called Banfield with the news that my dog had passed away and that I would need to cancel the wellness plan, I was HORRIFIED to hear they were trying to charge me for the next seven months of wellness plans for my dog. I tried contact their chat support and when I expressed my concern of this disgusting corporate policy, the chat support person hung up on me. I let them know I did not want my card charged after today, but they refused to remove my card saying their system could not remove a card. Whoever made the decision for this policy in the Banfield corporate office made their statement loud and clear, BANFIELD CARES MORE ABOUT MONEY THAN YOUR PET. Your policy for when a pet dies should be changed.Banfield Pet Hospital

My dog, as confirmed by another vet, has scabies. This scabies has been brought up multiple times across several months. Additionally, it has infected my whole family, this has heavily impacted mine and my familys health, and cost us many trips to the doctor. I personally am covered in scars, scabs, and redness. Asides from writing in the notes for the vet across multiple visits and bringing it up to the vet tech at the end of my visits, I have specifically been to the vet for this issue three times. Once at one location, and the second and third times being at another location on two separate occasions. Over the course of these three visits I have racked up a **** totaling $266.64. I would like this refunded as it did not work to help my pet at all! I would also like to terminate my contract, as clearly the vets at Banfield locations are too incompetent to treat my dog's condition. When I called customer service they told me i would have to pay out the rest of my plan, or the value of the services provided! Why should I have to pay either when the doctors failed to properly diagnose my puppy and were charging me hundreds of dollars to treat him improperly!Additionally due to covid regulations the company put in place, you will never talk to the person treating your animal, only a vet tech, or the receptionist. Definitely not a good place to take your animal.Banfield Pet Hospital

My dog was vomiting a lot of blood. I went to Banfield Hospital and they took my dog to the back room I had many questions after the tech said they found blood in the stool instead I go back and forth with questions because Dr does not see customers while I'm standing in the Lobby telling my business with other customers in the area. I had photos of the blood vomit but they asked me to email although I was standing in their presence at the Hospital. then the tech said the dr. does not communicate with customers only by phone even when your at the hospital in person. The Dr sits in a back room with N95 Mask cause she does not want to catch COVID. Then the tech said come back some other time for more review as we are getting ready to close. HORRIBLE experience. This Doctor does not care for animals she is just there collecting her paycheck. I went home feeling sick not knowing what was wrong with my dog or advice of how to handle my situation. This is how they treat customers who are on the Banfield Insurance plan!! Terrible!! Im surprised Banfield is still in business with this terrible customer service and mishandling of sick pets.Banfield Pet Hospital
