In August ordered Yardworks lawn sweeper. Trouble assembling (holes drilled wrong etc. ************* ***** said return for refund. Memards has video of us returning it on Oct 17 2024. Purchase was made thru ******. Menards sent refund to ******. On Nov 5th ****** returned money to Menards bank. They won't return money. We've tried FTC CFPB and IC3 to no avail. Been in constant contact with Menards help desk and are constantly told it's in litigation. I feel we've been robbed due to returning merchandise and not getting a refund. They keep trying to send us to different entities. I'll be 78 in Feb and to me that's a lot of money being on SS.Business Response

I sent out for a rebate for 347 dollars. I sent it June the 30th and I have not gotten it back. They wont let me talk to anyone at corporate, I leave my number for a call back but nothing. It is supposed to be 4-6 weeks to get my rebate back.Business Response

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a product I purchased from Menards: the **8 Pre-Lit Laguna Pine Christmas Tree** (product number 287-9001), sold under the **Enchanted Forest** brand. I purchased this tree and successfully used it for two holiday seasons. However, when I plugged it in this year, the bulbs began to shine extremely bright, became alarmingly hot, and then burned out. This is not only inconvenient but presents a clear safety hazard. Upon contacting the Menards store where I purchased the tree, I was informed that I needed to contact the manufacturer. When I did, their proposed solution was to replace only a single strand of lights. This response is wholly inadequate, as the issue is not limited to one strand. Furthermore, I do not feel it is safe to leave this tree plugged in, especially considering that I have a 2-year-old, a newborn, and my wife in our home. I find this especially troubling given that in 2013, a recall was issued for ***** trees from the same manufacturer due to reports of this exact problem: bulbs overheating and posing a fire risk. Despite this history, Menards continues to source products from this manufacturer and has only offered a one-year warranty for their trees. This situation directly impacts the safety of my family, and I believe Menards has a responsibility to stand behind the safety and quality of the products they choose to sell. I am requesting one of the following resolutions: 1. A full refund for the defective tree. 2. A replacement with a non-pre-lit tree so I can use lights from a trusted brand. The current response from Menards and the manufacturer is unacceptable given the potential safety risks and the previous history of similar issues with this type of product. I am requesting the BBB's assistance in resolving this matter promptly and ensuring that this safety concern is addressed appropriately.Business Response

Menards 11/21/2024 Hi,I ordered 6 (Six) quantity of 12" x 20' Corrugated Dual-Wall Solid Belled End Culvert to be delivered to my home. One is damaged with a hole in the tubing as noted by the three pictures as delivered to my home site.I reported this incident to Menards on November 21st 2024 with no response as of November 26, 2024. I am at a disadvantage to return the damage pipe since the drainage pipe is 20 feet long and I had to pay extra shipping charges for a Menards truck to deliver them to me. Details below:Again, the drainage pipe is useless to me because of the hole in it.Please advise of next steps.1)I requested a refund on the damage item, $199.99 plus tax for 12" x 20' Corrugated Dual-Wall Solid Belled End Culvert. In 2022, I purchased a new Christmas tree from Menards for approx $300+(sku 287-0663). I use my Christmas tree for about one month per year (from End of November to beginning of January). This tree worked beautifully in 2022 and 2023. I put it up this year and the foot pedal to turn it off and on no longer works. The lights also are not functioning properly. They randomly blink from white to multi-color rapidly. Other times they will stay on one mode for a while the suddenly change to the other only to suddenly change back. I have the original box and manual that came with the box. I checked the box for a manufacturer 800 number as well as the manual. Neither contains a number to call. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I no longer have the receipt or card the item was purchased on. I called the Menards store in ************, ** and was basically told that is ***** that it doesn't work, but they aren't going to do anything about it, not even exchange it for a functioning tree, and gave me the customer relations number which requires the complaint to be mailed in via snail mail. I would expect a company of this size to sell quality products. Furthermore, I would expect them to stand by their products when they are not.Business Response

On 11/25 around 3:30p I order a Maytag washer and dryer for my family. Immediately after ordering, I realized I ordered the wrong size washer (before 4pm); I attempted calling/emailing to let them know and placed an order for the correct washer--assuming they could cancel the washer that was incorrectly ordered. Online order support at *******, ****** location (location of pickup) said to come in to resolve, it would be easier. They have yet to confirm anything but the restocking fee, managers were not helpful and staff is confused on the store policies and how to correct. I cannot get a straight answer from anyone but "wait for an email" from corporate workers who decide how to handle order? The online customer service department said to come into the store to fix, I did (within 2 hours of orders) and they still could not help me. Everything is a mess, I had been looking at the larger washer and somehow I selected a combo with a smaller--my history shows that the washer I ordered second was the original selection I meant to purchase. I am willing to take smaller washer, just to cancel the order that costs less and hope for a smaller restocking fee. Almost $400 on a $1500 purchase for a restock fee for an special order, but the special part of order is not in stock until December 5th? This company is abusing customers confusion with their system and complicated cancellation policies and I won't even be supporting this again. Get your online ordering and policies updated to reflect customer need and struggles navigating your website.Business Response

On November 19, 2024 I went into the menards store at *****************************************. The item wasn't available. I was told to order online for same day delivery. I was told the item wasn't available, so cancelled and purchased at another store. The pending amount for the cancelled order has posted to my account as a charge and was told it could be another 5 to 10 days for the refund ($93.69) to process. Same day, same store heretoabove, I returned an item because the item in the box was not what was supposed to be in it. I asked for a store credit because they had 1 more box unopened. Turned out that item still didn't work with my application. On November 20 I took the item back to get a refund and I desired to purchase the correct any item from another company. I was told that once I asked for store credit, I could no longer get my money back. So now I have store credit ($42.39) that is useless because I can't use it at another company. I should be able to get my money back. I called menards headquarters and was told to contact the local store. I called the local store and talked to the front end manager on November 21 and was told that's the way it is. This is unacceptable!Business Response

I came into the store and had the building materials professionals order my deck cables. They ordered the cables for the metal system where we had wood posts. WE did not order the railing system and explained when we ordered they were for wooden posts. Menards is now going to penalize me for their mistake by charging a 25% restocking fee.Business Response

You should have a HUGE sign above your building supply desk that states your employees are NOT professional construction supplies service people and that the customer is in charge of all ordering as well as a very prominent notice that all special orders will have a 25% re-stocking fee. I have never ordered any building materials, and this was not blatantly clear when ordering. I signed off on what the building services employee recommended to us. There is a big difference in the way we are looking at the services I thought I was getting and the ones that were received. This seems to be a point you would want your "Valued" customers to understand. Ultimately this letter and complaint are pointless, I will happily procure materials for our house remodel and any future products from ********** where I received the items faster, delivered to my door, and they were less expensive.

The rebate system from Menards. Never received my rebate and all they can say is it has been cashed and to contact the police department. The police department does not have time to worry about my menards rebate. The way they send them out anyone can tell what it is. Its suppose to be signed by me they should check or something. I ordered a product online from this business, Order #LVLD49945, 13 Nov 24 with delivery estimated 15 Nov 24. Now the package is sitting in ** with the carrier on 19 Nov 24 unable to deliver to me. The problem I have is nobody from the Menards store will respond to me at all. It appears this is a chain of stores like Lowes with the difference being ***** is extremely professional and always has the best customer service, ********************** does not offer any customer service at all!Business Response
