On July 26, 2023, I took my 13 month old IPhone SE to ******, ** ** for a new battery. The phone charged to 100% but 4-5 hours later is was down to 20% or less. The technician worked on it for 2 hours and said the new battery would no charge and had me sign two papers and said to call back in a day or two as he needed to talk to his supervisor. The following day I took the phone to KBA in ************, **, and they said it was damaged by **. I had him write up a description that I could give to **. I immediately went to TMobile and purchased a new SE 3rd generation for $429+! I also sent this invoice to ** which reflected a remaining cost of $350 as TM gave me a trade in of $90. I spoke to the manager/owner the following day which was very on business like! They obviously lack internal communication and are solely responsible for damaging my phone! I just received a check for $125 from **! I want the remaining $225 they owe me for damages! I can see why they have an extremely low review score! Just not fair and I would not recommend them for phone repair to anyone!!Business Response

Good afternoon,
I have reached out to the ownership group of this store and am responding on their behalf. The customer was contacted by the owner who was willing to resolve his issue per our warranty terms listed on our device repair intake form which states: "In all cases, the maximum liability of the Store (including any Store Party) hereunder is limited to the repair and replacement of defective parts or replacement of the Device with an equivalent refurbished device." The owner discussed this with the customer, stating she could purchase the exact model he had brought in for the repair. The customer had already replaced the device with an upgraded model. The owner then stated she would issue him a check for the current value of the phone he had brought in and explained to him we would not pay for an upgraded phone. That said, the owner has addressed and resolved this situation. We are considering this matter closed.
Thank you,

I bought a Duracell light bulb from Batteries Plus at *************************************************************** on 4/26/2023. As soon as I installed one of these bulbs, the circuit breaker tripped. I couldn't get the lights to come back on after flipping the circuit so I called an electrician. The electrician checked the light switch and light fixtures and couldn't find any problem. He then systematically tested each socket and bulb and determined the new Duracell bulb from Batteries Plus was causing the short. This is all detailed in the attached photos of the electrician's receipt. You will also see in this receipt that the electrician's services cost $240.00.I would like to be reimbursed this $240.00.I already contacted the Batteries Plus store where I purchased the bulb. They said the best they could do was give me a new bulb. I also contacted ******** about reimbursement and ******** said "For all inquiries regarding Duracell Ultra light bulbs, including questions or compatibility issues, please contact our partner and distributor, Batteries Plus."I contacted Batteries Plus customer service and got no response. This was a faulty light bulb and I need to be reimbursed for the cost of the electrician.Business Response

I truly hate to have to come here and complain but I went to battery plus in *********** ** to have a key fob copied because I wanted a second key. I paid the $80 because I already had key fob that I purchased from Amazon. I was told if it didn't work they wouldn't be responsible and that I still had to pay fee. I agreed. *********** machine was down. So they told me to drive over to ******* ga. I got to the ******* location and **** came out to help me. He was really nice at the beginning. He went to make the key and in the process my original key was unprogrammed and the vehicle went into antitheft mode. During this process he had programmed and unprogrammed my original so many times trying to get the new key to work. He also changed my battery in my old key fob. It was backwards but it still had been working with no problem when I had it close to sensor. However I was stuck at Battery plus for 6 hours. Once he activated the antitheft and realized the key was unprogrammed he told us ******** and didn't offer anymore help. I had to call a lock *****. Nobody could help until today. I had to have the car towed to ****** and now they are talking about $500. I called Battery plus today and **** said there was nothing he could do about it. Before I go the lawyer route. I need to see if we can handle this or if not we can take an additional route. This has been a nightmare. Also **** wants to keep saying water damaged because I told him I thought my key was water damaged 3 years ago by a piece of ice. My key has been working fine and always have. He was extremely nervous and isn't a good help at all with trying to find a solution.Initial Complaint

Good morning,
I have reached out to the individual franchise ownership group and am responding on their behalf. It is to my understanding, the customer brought the battery into the store at 1 volt. A full discharged battery will show a voltage of ***** volts. With the battery being this severely discharge, that is a sign there is something drawing off of the battery. When the customer brought the battery into the store, the store tested it and charged it for the customer. The store was able to recover the battery to its full voltage, and the battery is testing good. That said, this battery would not qualify for the warranty. We are considering this matter closed.
Thank you,

I purchased two batteries for my Deere excavator in August of 2022. Today one of the batteries shorted out and melted the positive terminal. The batteries are hooked in series to provide the necessary 24 volts for the excavator. I returned it to the *******, ** store and the the associate said "You must have dropped a wrench on it" That is not true. That batteries were in the machine since I purchased them in August of 2022. Something went wrong with the battery while I was operating the excavator. He never tried to check voltage and was extremely rude when I asked him to. He never did check the battery. I have owned and ran equipment for over 40 years. I was charged full price for a replacement without anything but snide remarks with an attitude from the associate. I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of batteries from them for many years, and am a licensed heavy equipment mechanic and operator. This battery was not abused by me, in fact it was on a trickle charger during winter storage. They should stand behind a defective battery at least with a prorated warranty.Business Response

Good morning,
I have reached out to the leadership of the store and am responding on their behalf. In my correspondence with them, it is to my understanding the owners have reached out to the customer and discussed the situation. Melted Battery terminals are generally caused by a bad or loose connection. The resistance may cause excessive heat, arcing, or even melting. Rust on the bolts can also be a good indication that a connection problem may exist. With that being said, melted battery terminals are not due a manufacturer's defect, as a result are not covered under warranty. Going forward, this would go through the individual franchise location and not the ***************** We are considering this mater closed.

On May 22, 2023, I took my wifes expensive (diamond inlay) Bulova watch to Batteries Plus on ************** in ********, ** for a simple battery replacement. The tech said he had trouble getting the back off and had to use tools not designed for watches. Not only did he end up severely scratching the back of the watch, but then he said he could not get the back to snap into place again and gave it to me in two pieces. He blamed it on the design of the watch. This is not a cheap Timex, but a pricey Bulova (around $600)! He said I could take it to a jeweler 30 miles away to see if they could get the back on but they would not cover any cost for the repair. On May 23, I call the store manager (*****), who said I could bring the watch in to him and he would send it to a jeweler to get the back to stay on, but said he could not do anything about the scratches. Watch was left with the store on May 23. Between May 23 and Jun 14, I called the store several times to check on the status. Each time I was told the watch was still at the jewelers and they could not control how long it would take to get the back of the watch in place again. ***** and other store personnel seemed very disinterested in trying to resolve this. The watch is only a year old and was in perfect condition when taken in for a new battery. I will post photos of the front of the watch and damage to the back.Business Response

I brought my Jeep Wrangler to this store on November 12, 2022 to get a car battery replaced. During this process the employee put the battery on my right-side fender while I was watching and scratched the paint. I later discovered that he also installed the battery wrong (it was not bolted down correctly) and broke the emission system purge valve resulting in $390.40 in damages that I had to have fixed. This was paid for at the *************************************** on January 24, 2023. I contacted the store *********************** on November 12, 2022 and left a voice message. We have called back and forth and I have emailed him as recently as May 2, 2023 and he said he was going to talk to his supervisors and get back to me. I followed up twice more and haven't heard anything back. I am asking for a refund of the $390.40.Initial Complaint

I purchased a battery now going on 2 years. The near by Batteries Plus did not have the batter so I drove 25 miles to get a x2 battery for my Jeep Cherokee. Now several days ago my car would not start. I called the near by stores to see if I can exchange the battery due to AAA and auto zone testing the battery. What happens now does not make any sense. They tell me I have to go back to the store ********************************************************************************** so. Multiple stores I called informed me that either they were closing and or will not warranty battery. *** worked almost 20 yrs at BestBuy and seen this practice, they do it does so not to hurt the store numbers when reporting to corporate. What companies practices are totally absurd.Initial Complaint

I have an ongoing issue since beginning of April that ended in stereotype and discrimination treatment. I purchased unlimited battery replacement and they would not change my batteries. I contact customer service and they said it shows they were purchased, first **** ********* She promised a call back and never did. Weeks later, I called and submitted an email. I received a call back from ******** in response to my email. She stars that she also see my purchases and will contact the store and call back. She also did NOT call back. I then called back a week later again and asked for a manger because ******** referred me back to ********* Manager, ***** said the same and that she has addition access to other systems and will call back by the end of the next day. To this day she has not called back. When I call her, her calls are screened and I used my middle name when the Rep screened my call. She then said there ***** said there is nothing she can do. Again, the stereotype/discrimination and broken promises continued.Business Response

Good morning,
As with all of our warranties, a proof of purchase is required. The customer does not have a copy of her receipt and several attempts were made by the store location as well as the **************** to locate them. The store location is more than willing to assist the customer should she be able to provide this documentation or the proper information to pull it up in their system. Until this documentation is provided, we are considering this matter closed.

Batteries plus is selling car batteries that are defectives and not warrantying them. The car batteries come with 1-3 year warranty but when I returned within a year with a defective battery that was purchased at batteries plus. I was told the warranty wouldnt be honored because the battery had NOT been maintain correctly. When asked how I was to maintain a car battery, I was told it has to be used but every-time I went to use this particular battery it would not work. So, I went in for exchange and was told I would have to purchase a new battery because Batteries+ LLC wouldnt warranty. I am out of a vehicle battery and $245 with no one to help, after discussing with a car dealership mechanic I was informed that car batteries need no maintenance other then keeping clean and using it to charge. Batteries+LLC is blaming customers for bad products and its unfortunate we(consumers) cant do anything about it to get our money back.
