      TDS customer service is awful, prices astronomical and internet services dismal compared to their main competitor in Dane County, Spectrum.
      I was a TDS internet and TV customer for years but when they bumped up their prices $50/month I decided to negotiate a lower price. They dropped by $30 but I decided to look at the competition. Spectrum gave me far superior internet that cost $100 less!
      Cancelling TDS service was a nightmare; 4 hours with 4 different customer service reps, calls kept dropping, endless waiting, and they refused to prorate the charges plus charged $21 for me to return their equipment to a different state. What changed, TDS? Pushing away customers!

      Absolutely horrible customer service. Just moved back to town after a year and a half and tried to set up service. Called on a Monday and was told they needed to approve the location and would call back the next day. Received the call back to be told I owed them $300 from service they never canceled at my request when I moved and once it was paid, we were good to go. I made the payment and installation appointment was made for next day. The next day, the tech calls me and states the address is not serviceable, too bad. I called TDS back and was told I would receive a call Thursday or Friday and they would look into it. No one called. I called back Monday and got transferred 5 times, hung up on and then told that the address is not serviceable, oh well for me. I will never recommend this service to anyone and will ensure everyone I know avoids this shady company

      Although the company assured homeowners that there would be minimal excavation to their property there was considerable damage to my yard during the TDS cable installation on October 6, 2022. I understand that the AT&T cable line was mismarked and the cable was cut. However, I was away from home for 1-1/2 hours during which this occurred and I returned home to have an enormous hole in my side yard, a back-hoe digging, my fence taken down, tree branches cut, my azalea bush and sage bush destroyed and a 15'x10' area of grass completely destroyed. What was done to "repair" this is ridiculous. I understand that these companies have the right to enter my property to install cable but they do not have the right to destroy my property. And, although I have contacted them twice, I have yet to receive the courtesy of a response as to how they intend to repair the damage done to my yard from their cable installation. This is an irresponsible company and I shudder to think how responsive they will be to cable customers with connection issues!

      I wish I read these reviews before I got service through TDS. If you go with TDS, make sure you are very specific on where you want the fiber to come into your house. And where you want the modem. I tried to tell the installers but they didn’t speak English. Ultimately, they hooked up the modem in my garage. As a result, I am unable to get internet to half of my house. Boosters and additional routers didn’t work. The TDS customer service group is difficult to work with. Very slow to get you support. You may wait up to an hour to get help over the phone. I would not recommend TDS. I think they are in a growth phase right now and their service and quality is lacking as a result. I would recommend holding off from TDS or going to a more reputable provider.

      I hope someone sues this company honestly. All they do is lie and steal your money. We got the best plan they had only for it to not work at all. Can barely run a single **** device on **** ****. Highly recommend looking for a different service. Oh and TDS, fix your ******* company. I’m gonna laugh when y’all go bankrupt

      I have been a TDS customer for 23 years. It's mostly because they are the only provider available in my area and the price is comparable to Verizon (yes, expensive). The past few years, I've seen service go down hill, until I rate it as non-existent now.
      I just spent 90 minutes with their call center. Issue one, they made changes so my outgoing email no longer works on outlook and Thunderbird. I get a C20 error, outgoing mail blocked. TDS wants you to use their Webmail program which is terrible, but it has their paid advertisers so they want to force you to look at the adds. When I called, all they will do is direct you to their self-help website, which doesn't address the issue, or you can choose to shell out $15 (minimum) for them to remote in to fix the issue they caused. 45 minutes of time was wasted on this.
      The other issue is with cable TV. It stopped working months ago. I hadn't called in until now because of how much time their phone support takes. Of course they can't fix the issue, and are sending a tech out. But it was another 45 minutes of wait, reboot, attempt the WPS connect, wait... empty apologies, try again. Reboot everything and try again, more empty apologies and more wait...
      To be fair, the few techs I've seen over the years have been great. You used to be able to talk to a technically competent person when you called in, instead of an overseas (very tough accent to understand!) "note-taker". I could hear keys clicking constantly while I was on the phone, so I think she transcribed the call. She didn't have any technical knowledge that wasn't in the script.
      So yes, I'm extremely disappointed.

      Dishonest.. Was quoted 82.99 for service per month, got charge 94.95, called to discuss and was told that the price quoted was b/c we were on a promotion to begin with which ended- not sure how that pertained to the upgrading of my services but TDS would not honor the 82.99 that I was given, instead would only give me a discount down to 86. its not the price that is upsetting, but the fact that the price quoted was not going to be honored.

      TDS is one of the worst companies i have delt with. They are the ONLY ISP available for my house. I have had them for over 4 years now. They were horrible with daily outages for the first year, but got better, but their support and customer ********************** is still the worst. I currently work from home, On Thursday 10/13/2022 around 9:30am we had a large outage in the area, This was confirmed when i called in to TDS who advised they are currently work to repair it and will add my number to the call list once it has been repaired. 4 hours go by, no call, i reach out and am told it has been fixed, Though i still have no service. I do all the modem resets they ask for.. and then im told the modem I have (supplied by TDS) is very old and does not support the speeds i have been paying for and it is the likely cause of my issue. I go down to the local office and exchange it, install it and same issues, no service. Back on the phone with TDS support, they now want to send some one out, ETA Tuesday 10/18/2022.I take it a step further and trace all the wires leading to my modem that can not connect to service.. everything is good until i get to the Fiber relay box on the out side of my house. it has power, but has an alarm light. Confirmed via the model and documents for this module of relay box that the alarm light means the fiber signal going to the box is not being detect. Try getting TDS to come out in a more reasonable time, but they refuse, very sure this is an issue at the main junction box, some one unplugged my cable or bumped it when fixing the big outage but no one cares... im one person, i have no other options... 10/18 comes around, i have now missed over 40 hours of work (i work weekends) no one shows up, TDS has now told me they canceled the appointment today as i was part of a bigger outage, Cant get any one out for another few more days. I even offered to upgrade to a high end business service for $200 a month that still wont get me fixed.

      horrible service. horrible customer service. horrible to work with. i turned on auto pay and the system messed it up. they never sent me a bill via email, mail, or ANYTHING. instead they let the charges build up until i owed $500+ and said “it was my fault for not calling and making sure the auto pay went through”. then they shut down all my wifi and tv and said since it was a “hard reset” they couldn’t turn it on for another 2 business days. worst business i’ve ever had to work with in any profession by a long shot. do NOT sign with tds if you care about your sanity.

      Absolutely horrible unreliable service that is grossly overpriced. Completely useless support people.
      I am being charged 50 bucks a month for equipment that I do not have. I returned my cable box after canceling TV services with them bc it was going to be $240 a month for cable & internet. Now my bill should be 85 but it is still $130-$140
      I'm about to go to a mobile hot spot service so I don't have to deal with this company
