Power outage in the middle of a blizzard for now 4+ hrs.We Energies
Date: 01/17/2024
We are very sorry to hear you were without power. We certainly understand the inconvenience that can occur as a result of a power outage and the impact it may have on you and your family, especially in an extended outage such as this. The severe weather conditions and heavy snow this past weekend made our restoration efforts very difficult, caused extensive forestry damage and took down hundreds of power lines throughout our service territory which created a large number of hazards. In many cases, special crews and equipment were needed to make repairs which in turn, required more time to restore service. Dedicated workers from across Wisconsin and the Midwest were also brought in to assist our crews with restoration efforts. We work hard to provide safe, reliable energy services to our customers. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding with us while being without power and apologize for the inconvenience you may have experienced.Review fromThomas K

Repeatedly has refused to explain 1500-1900% rate increase while actual fuel generation costs have increased less than 200%. By their own admission, my "energy use has been consistent kover (the last 30) years." VP of Consumer Support keeps referring me to the **************************** who is clearly in the back pocket of WE Energies. We Energies

In review of this customers account, our records indicate he has been billed based on actual meter readings for both gas and electric service. The ************************* of Wisconsin investigated the customers concerns in November 2023 and determined the customer has been accurately and appropriately billed for the energy services used. If the customer is wishing to reduce his bill amount, he is encouraged to contact our **************** line at ************** to request a ************* kit, which includes helpful tips on how to reduce energy consumption. Additionally, we partner with the state of Wisconsins energy efficiency program, Focus On Energy. To obtain additional energy conservation support, please contact them by calling ************** Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00.Review fromLeonard G

What the heck is going on with this company? It’s, by far, the worst customer service I’ve been subjected to in my life. And I’m old. They used to be professional and helpful. That ship has sailed to India. I earned A’s in oral communication in college. So nothing ****** me of more is when I have important business to take care of but it’s impossible due to lack of communication from any nationality. We Energies

This company will look at every turn to ***** you over. I moved from one place to another and had service initiated at the new place. I was told over the phone that my previous address would be "automatically shut off" as of 9/30. They did not do that, and now I have a bill through 10/12, and will get another from 10/13-10/31.When I asked to have the call provided to me or to have a transcript, they said i'd have to get a court subpoena just to hear it, but that they'd send me a letter telling me what they told me on the phone, that i'm on the hook for a bill at a location I no longer live at.Total scam company. We Energies

We have reviewed the phone conversation in question and confirmed that when he called to start service at his new address this customer advised he would call back to close the account for the address he was moving from at a later date. We have closed the account in question as of the day he requested us to do so. If he feels his former landlord should be responsible for charges incurred while the account was still in his name we would encourage him to contact that party to discuss.Review fromAj J

Most evil corporation in the world. I had a payment arrangement which I was on time paying for 11 months straight almost had it paid off, and had an unexpected expense come up so I was late on the last payment. I payed that payment and called to save my payment arrangement. I was told that it was saved I just had to make another payment in 2 weeks. I told the person that I needed a paper bill for that. "Which is the only way the place I pay at will take the payment is to have the stub they send with payment ". I was told several times that I would get that paper bill. So I wait for the mail...nothing. I was going to pay part of my rent late in order to make this payment. When it did not come I paid my rent in full thinking I would have to probably start a new payment arrangement. What comes the next week a disconnection notice. Which is only a week past the due date of the second payment. This notice says I have 5 days to pay or I get shut off when my next check is in 10 days, I get paid bi weekly. I call to get the date moved back 5 days and agree to pay full amount they want and they tell me that the payment date can not be changed and that even though they found the call and heard the person tell me yes I will get the paper bill. They will not change the date and if I don't pay it on their date I will be cut off. Now at this point they will shut me off for being 3weeks late. How do they sleep at night. Horrible service. I thought we lived in a country where there is to be no monopoly in corporations but we only have we energies to choose from for electricity and gas. If there was another corporation selling energy in Wisconsin I would for sure switch to them . We energies is just plain EVIL.We Energies

This customer did not keep the terms of an agreed upon Deferred Payment Arrangement (DPA). After reviewing the situation we agreed to reinstate the arrangement. The customer did not keep the terms of the reinstated DPA, resulting in the full balance becoming due. We encourage the customer to contact us at ************** to discuss his options for establishing a new DPA. A variety of payment options are available to our customers including cash or check payments in person at approved payment centers, over the phone using a debit or credit card, online using a My Account profile, or via our mobile app. A full list of our payment options can be found at *****************************************************************.Review fromKyle S.

I lived at my current apartment for 7 years, my first payments started around $60-90 a month with WEC. I was forced to swap over to weenergies in 2021 and it was the biggest thing I’ve regretted in a long time. From there on out every single bill has been $200-300 a month normally. I spent months fighting with customer service just to come out and test our meter which they said “was fine” nothing was pulling from other units etc. All it did was drop the bill by like $50 which ended up slowly increasing again anyways. I tried to just deal with the problem and pay it and am in the process of moving (thankfully) now, but I can’t deal with this **** anymore. I just got a $384 energy bill for the month of July. Mind you all of these bills, ARE FOR A ONE BEDROOM APARTMENT. This company is a joke, there’s no compensation no investigation no accountability NOTHING. The meter testing was a flat out lie because I haven’t changed ANYTHING in the apartment in this amount of time. Same appliances same electrical uses. This is insane that a company can just gaslight situations like this, customer service is a joke and pushes calls like this off to another or flat out hang up because they don’t want to deal with it, there’s no point to even talk to them because nothing gets done. This is a problem that needs to be investigated ABOVE this company and compensation needs to be given for all of the years of dealing with this. THIS IS A ONE BEDROOM APARTMENT. This is not possible. We Energies

As this customer notes, his electric meter was tested using equipment approved by the ************************* of Wisconsin and tested within the limits of accuracy required by state law. While we understand that higher-than-expected energy costs can be frustrating, as a regulated utility we are required to bill for registered usage. We are merely the provider of the energy and have confirmed it is being measured accurately. Just as one would take a car getting bad gas mileage to a mechanic rather than a gas station clerk, we would suggest this customer have an ************************* check the electrical system in his unit or a private contractor review the efficiency of his electrical appliances and equipment.Review fromDenise D

Every time there is even a mild storm we lose power. For 3 yrs they have been saying that they need to trim the tree branches around the transformer because every time the wide blows it shorts it out. Yet to be done. I am now sitting here for 48 hrs with no power and multiple estimated fix times. If I had a choice I certainly would NOT be their customer. They have us at their mercy and know it. Worst service by any business Ive dealt with. ????We Energies

We understand it can be frustrating when power is lost. This weekend we experienced a significant storm event that impacted power to over ****** customers across our service territory in parts of Central and Southeastern Wisconsin. We have had hundreds of crews working in the field around the clock in an effort to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. In addition to our crews, we have also received assistance from outside crews to help with restoration efforts. We continue to find widespread damage from the storm including downed trees resulting in power equipment needing to be replaced. We appreciate your patience as we diligently work to restore service to all those affected. We Energies always encourages customers to have a back-up plan when power outages arise. They refuse to help customers who have lost food and water due to power outages. They refuse to credit or refund any money on our bill or help pay for a hotel so we could have running water and air-conditioning during the outage that has already gone into its 3rd day.We Energies
