Between my wife and I we have been writing check for over 60 years, 30 of them at our local Cub Foods store, but now because Telecheck has no banking information about me, they have denied my check at Cub Foods. When I call the help line given to me, I have a choice, either enter the 7 digits code number that I was never given or enter ALL of my banking information. This Telecheck company seems to be a scam company set up to purposely deny people personal checks only to force them to hand over ALL of my banking information including account numbers & Routing numbers. This is all just a scam for them to get ALL of my banking information so they can sell into the highest bidder.

The last letter to TeleCheck appears below: ******************************* Consumer ******************** Telecheck ************************************************************************************************ Good morning, ******************, Thank you for your letter of 03/24/2023, tracking number ********, explaining the rationale that resulted in the fourth TeleCheck rejection of a personal check tendered for payment for groceries at Giant Foods, *****, ******** on 03/22/2023.On 02/03/2023 I received a letter from TeleCheck informing me of the following: Please be advised that an investigation completed and that based on the information you have provided, TeleCheck finds no indications that TeleChecks system would provide information to a merchant that would cause a merchant to decline your check transactions. A couple of days later I submitted a check for $247.79 to pay for groceries at my local Giant. The check was denied despite the aforementioned letter .In one of my early letters to TeleCheck, I included a copy of my drivers license, copies of my credit reports from the three credit reporting agencies ( and my credit score (820). I discovered later that these customary entries would not suffice for purposes of granting check cashing privileges at TeleCheck. Your letter lists the two criteria that are missing in order to favorably update my file are:1. no history on your account2. "this account has insufficient history to support check cashing".To which I reply, how is it ever possible to build up a history at TeleCheck when all TeleCheck clients will base their position on your clearing houses decision to decline all checks submitted to complete a purchase? If there ever was a living, breathing Catch22 it is your two criteria noted above. That said -keeping in mind the Catch 22- what more can one do to have ones file favorably updated? It would appear that the letter from TeleCheck, dated 02/03/2023 was insufficient for a favorable update. Please advise and /or update

April 26, 2023 ********************************* ******************************************************* RE: BBB Complaint No. ******** / ********************************* Dear **********************,TeleCheck has received your BBB complaint regarding a check decline that you received at Giant Supermarket. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience, embarrassment, or frustration this decline has caused. For background, TeleCheck is a check acceptance and check processing company which works with merchants nationwide who wish to accept payment by check. I was rejected by telecheck and called them to find out why. They asked for my social security number, drivers license number, phone number and address. (That infuriated me because they operate out of *************** and would not give me a number in the **.) They removed the restriction after collecting all my sensitive personal information but refused to tell me why the restriction was placed on me to begin with. I have learned to not trust anyone. I expect to learn my identity being stolen in the near future after this experience.

This company is a joke. Took time off to go buy a new laptop for my local Union. Callwd best buy, asked if they took business checks. They said yes. Drove an hour to the nearest store, went to check out with the purchase. The check was declined, the salesperson said its a common occurance. When i called the 800 number, the customer service person said it was because we had never used this service before, not because of anything with our account, just that we did not have a profile. Told me to try another check later. Told them that i did not have another check, abd that were not free. Got told that they did not have another option at the time, to try the purchase in a day or so. No care or consideration to my or the best buys salespersons time.

I called and gave them information regarding the denial and 1 hour later I received an email from ID.Me that said and account was set up accessing my social security information. Now I cannot get into my ID.Me account. I know my identity has been compromised as a result of the information I gave to the auto attendant when I called the number on the receipt I had been given.

they accused me of writing a check to a wal mart i had never been in. I repeatedly tried to convince them that it was not me. I even filed a police report about it. I finally got to a point where i just paid it so they would stop harassing me. this went on 5 months. They finally sent me a copy of the back of the check. The only thing that was the same as mine was that i have a checking account at the same bank. The drivers license was even an S not a P which is the first letter of my last name. I have shared the check information with the police and with my bank I am still waiting for their response.

This bunch of fraudulent scamers constantly getting Im the way of good hard working Americans lives needs to be locked up. I've fought with them for several years, finally got letter stating that they found my information had been attached to accounts not mine and they had cleared my records. Stated we would not have issues moving forward. Finally had 1 transaction that they didn't decline first one in my life, but less than an hour later back to square one. Saying I have an account with arverst bank. Yes 8 years ago I did but since I no longer have that account number to verify they can't tell what the issue is. Wants me to call the bank and get my account number to confirm. But neither the bank nor telecheck show any unpaid balances or fees I need to pay but here we are again anyway. This time I'm hiring an attorney and taking this nonsense to court . Hopefully someone can help because I sure don't understand the harassment

My check was refused recently based on TeleCheck's flawed data provided to the retailer even though my account balance had 100 times the balance needed to cover the check. First time I've had a check refused in Omaha and I've lived here for over 35 years. TeleCheck is obsolete. Retailers like Tractor Supply Company or TSC can run a check and draw the money on the spot of the retail transaction. If a retailer is using TeleCheck, in my opinion, they are using a worthless and obsolete service. If you are a retailer, do not use this service unless you wish to alienate your customer base and chase them away. If I could give them zero stars I would, and I suspect all these one star ratings would do the same.

In September of 2021 my identity was stolen by some criminals who hacked into my bank checking accounts. The hackers had downloaded a gambling app called "**********************" The perpetrators used electronic transfer transactions to defraud me. Fortunately my bank recognized what was going on and did not honor those transactions. They said my accounts were compromised and closed them and opened new ones for me. That was not the end of it, A collection company, TRS recovery services, started sending me harassing letters that stated the following: "Original Creditor: **********************, Current Creditor: TeleCheck, LLC". I don't know but It seems that ********* uses TeleCheck as their guarantor for the checks that they receive. Since my bank did not honor the Sightline transactions that meant that ********* would not receive the funds that they anticipated. So what did they do? They sought to recover those funds from TeleCheck. TeleCheck then comes after me saying that I had initiated all of those transactions and turned me over for collection to, first TRS and then TSI. I subsequently received a letter from *** saying they had closed my account and I would now have to direct any inquiry to TeleCheck. The collection company realized that they had no chance of collecting a debt I don't owe however that didn't stop TeleCheck.
