      We bought the largest General available on the market. We had nothing but problems with this unit. The registering procedure was a nightmare to even get the unit started and the Wifi never worked. After 1,5 years the entire control panel is fried. Now this was installed by a certified Generac representative. In total we spent over $2000 to try and get this piece of junk to run when needed. NEVER again would I consider a Generac again!

      I bought a Generac generator with a written 10 year warranty. I They only gave me five. I have been trying to get this fixed for months

      Here's another one star review on our Junkerac generator. After 1.5 years it died. We have been fighting with them for over a month now, spoken to so many people at customer service (that's a joke of a name). We have had 3 certified dealers look at it and none of them have gotten the ok to fix the generator. SAVE YOUR MONEY. DON'T BUY A GENERAC.

      soler not working and they not have any one to fix they keep making work order and for no reason they cancel it and I called them back they said no we didn't and I call the nova back they send me proof they cancel the customer service always busy always lie never fix the problem never keep the promises for call back manager called Cristina she said I,m rude because I was angry I didn't say any bad word but I was angry asked for her manager she said she is the manager and I can't do any thing don't trust this company save your money I hope I read this comments before I pay for it

      When the generator is running due to power outages there is nothing more helpful and appreciated. When I installed this generator (20kw) we set it up to run the entire house. Shortly after that Hurricane Irene had power out for all around us for 6 days. With a newborn it was a great relief. After 2 years the control panel went, there goes $500. Always did annual maintenance. Still all was good. The last 2 years kept getting alarms for various things including oil pressure switch. Replaced that, (twice) and all seemed okay. Replaced battery 3 times. A month ago the oil pressure alarm again. Changed it, started it and after slamming clunking and hammering, my Generac guy said the engine is shot. After a total of 158 running hours the engine is toast. I understand the fact that the unit is 12 years old but Generac doesn't seem to want to stand behind their product. No compromise offered at all. It seems to be a mass produced, cheaper quality product offered up to consumers similar to a Lowe's or Home Cheapo product. If you truly want dependable and can afford it, go higher end.

      We had no problems with the generator itself. Our complaint has to do with the extended warranty they offered. We purchase our generator 12/09/2020. In March 2023, We decided to purchase an extended warranty for 10 years. Sent our $1035,. When we received a copy of the the EXTENDED warranty. It was back dated to the original purchase date. Losing 3 years and in reality getting only a 7 yr warranty. When we talked to their company, we were told this is how they handle all their warranties. And if we didn't like it they would send our $1035 back to us. No discussion no explanation of policy. This doesn't even sound legal.

      I am a C-10 licensed ********** electrical contractor. The one I installed (I think it was an 8 kW) came from the factory miswired, so upon startup it kept blowing fuses. I spent several hours tracing wires to discover the problem. Once I rewired it, it worked. Then about a month after the installation, the customer called to say the unit would not start. I went out to discover the cast housing on the starter motor had broken. I later came to understand this was a common issue. It was replaced with an identical design, which broke again a year later. Then there was an issue with the voltage regulator which failed and damaged equipment in the customer's home. Each time they refused to compensate me for my time in correcting the problems... and did not offer to compensate the homeowner for damage to their equipment from the high voltage.And this was not an aberration as all electrical contractors I spoke with seem to have had similar problems.Do NOT buy "Genewreck" generators.

      Inferior product. I have only had the system for 8 years, have had yearly maintenance by a generac dealer, it sits protected from weather under an overhang, it has never run except for weekly programming and I've already had to replace the control panel twice ($900 for parts - labor is extra) and the stator another $900 for part - labor is extra. I believe this is an inferior product. And trying to reach customer service is a nightmare. After leaving a message for a request for a call back I waited a week and a half. Then began calling every other day for another 1-1/2 weeks and finally got a call back at the end of 3+ weeks, at which time they said there was nothing they could do to help. The product and customer service stink get another company.

      Had a Brand New Generac 24KW whole house system installed 1.5 months ago. Power out three days ago for 24 hours. The generator died after 10 minutes. Brand New Piece of C***. It will be three weeks for a new part to arrive - PART - NOT A NEW SYSTEM when I bought a new one. My generator comes with a standard parts and labor warranty of 5 years of which I am going to be down 3 months before I get a working unit (I think)...I called to get an explanation as to why they give a 7 year warranty through their network of installers vs the local company I used (their closest to Chattanooga is well over an hour away) and why they won't be extending my warranty. No response other than a lame customer service standard response. BS that they give their installers an advantage and screw hard working people like me who want a unit with a service company nearby.

      Wifi system has never worked. Can not reach anyone from Generac for assistance. All attempts involve permahold and ignored messages. Would highly recommend avoiding this company.Not sure if other brands are better, but they can't be worse.
