On April 10, 2023 a technician misdiagnosed my dryer's issue, replaced 2 parts, costing me $446.58. He left with the 'used' parts. Due to my dryer having the same issue the next day when doing laundry, upon request on April 16, 2023, a different technician came to diagnose the problem again. His diagnosis was the motor being the issue and provided a tip on how to trigger the motor to work which I have been doing with success ever since. I spoke with a Manager (Ella) to request a refund of the unnecessary parts as per the first misdiagnosis but was refused. I would have happily paid for the service call of $70.00 but instead fell victim to their error and ************.

We called in The A Team Appliance Repair to fix out noisy gas dryer.
On April 8 2023 a technician came replaced new pulley rollers After he replaced them he also mentioned that the mother board wasn't computing properly and that too need to be replaced. So we agreed for the price of $495.00 plus tax. We knew of an $80.00 service fee but would be waved into the price if we were to proceed.
He showed us that the machine turned on and ran quietly, then turned it off. He then proceeded to finish up the billing.
All was good until the technician wrote up the bill of total $ 887.05 Invoice #******* I told him I didn't think it would have been that much and told him I can pay with Credit Card. Which is states clearly on there website. He told me NO! Cash, Debit or e-transfer. So I retransferred the amount.
I didn't run the gas Dryer again till Monday night April 10th when I put the wet clothes into the dryer it made an even louder noise and then just shut off within 3 secs of running. Not the original issue I had, Now it doesn't even run at all.
So I called Appliance repair again that night and asked for a warranty repair on the service I just had on the Saturday April 8th. The woman told me I should be hearing from the warranty department within 12 hours to schedule an appointment. When I heard nothing I emailed them and got a warranty claim put through this time since they had no record of me calling on Monday night.
The warranty department called back and scheduled a repair on Monday April 17 2023.
The same technician came back and this time after taking the whole machine apart he tells me that I need a motor instead, at a cost of $595.00 +tax Invoice ******. I told him NO and asked for compensation for the last parts. He advised me to contact the store and speak with them.
Just want some compensation back on parts that were not needed.
They have offered me 10-15% off the motor, which I said No to. I am not spending anymore money and time with this company.Initial Complaint

**** *** ********* ** ***** *********** ** ***** ****** ** ****** *** ********** **** **** ********* ********* I can't believe that ATeam Appliance Repair continues to operate and my only regret is that I did not check the BBB reviews before contacting this questionable company. The same **** of telling customers it would cost $80.00 for the service call only to find out it is actually $280.00! Then the technician fills out a work order that lists the parts required but does not itemize the cost per part, simply lists a grand total of $2,290.00 + $280.00 Labour and HST = $2,904.10. Since I desperately needed my oven and stove top to be repaired, I blindly agreed to pay 1/2 thinking that since I paid so much up front, they would do their best to speed up the process to get repairs done. Over a month later and the appliance is partially repaired (Oven only). The stove top still has exact same issue before the repair was done. Since this company is so ***** the only expectation is that they will send me to collections for the other 1/2 that I refused to pay since the appliance is not completely working as they said it would be.Initial Complaint

I booked appointment. Tech came out and advised what the problem was. I agreed to order the part. He came back and the washer appeared to work for several wash cycles. Now same problem. When I called I was advised that the part for repair was noted on the invoice $978.00. I was told the part that was ordered and installed would repair the machine. Now they tell me it’s the other part I have to order. Replaced part was $278 plus $260 labour. It went from $80 to $260. **** *** ***** ******* **** ** ********** ** **** *********** ***** *** ********* The washing machine is almost new and I would never have paid $600 approx and then $978 for a washing machine that I can replace for a fraction of the cost. They refuse to do anything unless I order the partInitial Complaint

I contacted Appliance Repair Team on Feb 2, 2023 because my oven was not heating. I was told over the phone there would be an $80 diagnostic visit fee. After the diagnostic visit was finished on Feb 3, I was told the fee was actually $280+tax due to labour that was never mentioned in advance.
On Feb 11, I paid $727 as a “deposit” to order the part & book the service appointment. On Feb 24, the technician *** returned to do the repair. Instead of fixing the problem he was hired to fix, he shattered the glass oven door while ‘attempting’ to complete the repair. He then left & took the door handle & install parts with him without my consent to take them. They did not contact me about what happened.
I called the company on March 6 as there had been no follow-up from them. On March 10, the company said I would need to pay an additional $600 up front to order a new door because the door is 'very expensive'. This is the glass door their technician broke.
On March 24, a representative ***** *** indicated that the company would fix both the door & the original problem, but needs to “collect the remaining balance of the deposit”. On March 29th, *** informed me that they will accept a partial payment of the remaining balance & under no circumstances would the company send a technician unless they first collected more money from me.
I have paid the company over $1000 & in exchange I still have my original problem plus a shattered oven door & no oven door handle as it has not been returned. The fact that the technician broke the oven door does not mean that I am now required to pay the company more upfront money to complete the original job. They have taken my money for a service they are now refusing to provide, & are refusing to return the money that I paid them.
I am requesting a full refund on the diagnostic & deposit. I do also expect the oven door handle & install parts to be returned to me. At no point did I consent to them being taken.Initial Complaint

The next technician **** ***** *** ********** ** *** ******* ** *** said that the repair was complete to us then filed a report the office that we needed extra parts to repair the issue.

On March 28th, I called the company as the water dispenser and crisper shelf on my fridge were broken. I was told by ***** ***** that the fee to look at my fridge was $80 and if I go ahead with the repair, the $80 is deducted from the cost of the labour. This is standard practice so I agreed. The tech came same day, & quoted $231.68 & $378.12 for the parts & $280 for the labour; I agreed for the work to be performed once the parts came in. The quote listed the parts and labour separately and the tech confirmed that the fee was for fixing the dispenser because he deducted $40 when I decided not to fix the shelf. He asked for a deposit of $402.10 and I paid but changed my mind so called & emailed before 8:30 next day asking for refund less $80 but ***** said that I had to pay the $240 for labour performed; I said that no work was performed. She said I was getting a refund of only $130.90. She said I had signed off on it so I read the statements I signed for the 1st time; normally, I would not sign anything without reading but I thought it was the company I had used before which was legitimate so I blindly signed. One statement says that the fee is for work performed at the time of the quote without parts (but that was not my situation) and the other statement says that the cost of the part includes installation but as I said, the tech confirmed that the $240 was for fixing the dispenser which he had to order. I should mention that the form is labelled as a quote, not an invoice. If the work was performed on the same night as the quote, why would they leave a balance owing? How was the work performed if I needed a part? If the $240 was just for quoting, why was was I told it was $80? I do not see the refund of $130.90 on my credit card transactions but the refund should be $311.70. On March 22, 2023 The A-Team appliance repair send a technician to my home to repair my refrigerator. They said they would waive the $80 service fee if I hired them for the repair. The fridge needed a small thermostat replaced. They gave me a bill for $290 plus tax and said they would come back the next day to install the part. I said, how about I pay you when you’re done because what if you cannot find the part, he said if we don’t find the part you get a partial refund for approximately half because we still came out and did a service call. I ********* paid and then for two days they ignored me, I called asking about the part and finally on the third day when I called for the third time they said this part is discontinued so I said OK please send me my partial refund and they said there is no such thing as a partial refund you paid for us to come out and we did.
I explained that the technician told me I would get a partial refund if they couldn’t find the part and that he has done no repair. He was literally there for 30 minutes, Most of the time spent talking to me and they said read the contract you signed we don’t owe you anything The job is complete. *** ********* *** *********** **** **** ** ** ******* **** *** **** ** ***** ** *** ******* ** ***** ****** ******** ***** ** ** *** ****** *** ** ************* *** **** ***** ********* ** ******** *** ****

We called the Appliance Repair Team on February 7, 2023 in order to have a look at our ******* refrigerator that stopped working. A service person came the same day at diagnosed a broken compressor. The price of a new compressor for this type of fridge is upwards of $ 4,500. We paid and the order was placed. We were promised a replacement within a week.
About three weeks later, February 23, another service person came to replace the compressor. The fridge worked for less than 48 hours and then stopped.
I called the Appliance Repair Team to signal that the fridge was not working. I was told that there was another part they were expecting. Two weeks later the fridge was still not working and I was ****** told that I had to wait.
On March 23, I called them again. Again, no one is informed about what was happening and no one is suggesting to send a a repairman to at least see what is going on.
