I was visiting my family in Mississauga for 2 weeks a couple of weeks ago. I live and work in Newfoundland.
I had gone to Walmart in Mississauga on ******** and purchased 3 gift cards. I purchased them through the self checkout. The first was a $25 ***** ***** gift card. The second was a $50 restaurant(***** ******) gift card and the third was a $25 *** ******* gift card. When I paid for my purchase the receipt has showed activation for the first 2 gift cards but it didn't show the ***** card. I proceeded to ask the associate who was watching the self checkout and they assured me that the ***** card was activated and told me " it's fine, it will work".
However I bought the ***** gift card for a birthday gift for my sister. She went to use the ***** card today and they told her it wasn't activated. I live in Newfoundland so I cannot go back to the store to complain. I will no longer be buying any gift cards from Walmart anymore after throwing away $25 on a gift card that wouldn't work, not to mention the embarrassment my sister went through ** *** ***** ***** ****!!!Business Response

Walmart called me and told me to call *** ******* and they would be able to activate the gift card for me. Well I called *** ******* and they cannot activate a gift card on the phone, it has to be done in store at time of purchase. So I have gotten absolutely zero satisfaction. Thanks Walmart for wasting my time and my &25 down the drain!!!! Very annoyed customer here!!Business Response

Walmart told me to call *** ******* number on the back of the giftcard. I called and *** ******* told me that they cannot activate the card, it had to be done by Walmart. I activated my walmart ********* I think in May and was informed about balance protection insurance. The representative told me that if I were to pay at least the minimum payments every month and not miss a payment then I would not have to pay for it that was why I agreed even if I already had a similar insurance with a different company. When I looked at my previous statements I was so mad to see charges associated with that balance protection insurance that was tagged on to my bill so I immediately called to cancel and was told that that I had to call ****** **** which was the provider of the insurance and they can cover the charges. When I called ****** **** they told me that they can only cancel but they can't reverse the charges so I had to call back walmart. This time I wanted to speak to a manager since I was being tossed around. Manager said they couldn't do anything and that ****** **** was the one responsible for the charges. I asked the manager to do a conference call but unfortunately ****** **** customer service was closed so I asked manager to call me back when the ****** **** customer service was open but no calls have been made as of this day and that was 2 weeks ago.Business Response

I was mailed an ad for Walmart online groceries where if I signed up I would use the code ********** to save $15 off my first 4 grocery orders of $75+. It only worked for the first 3 orders and not the promised 4. I contacted Walmart a total of 7 times over chat and phone and was told I was wrong and couldn't be helped. On August 1, I chatted with an employee who told me he was giving me a $15 voucher on my account. I have screen shots of this chat. It never was applied to my account. On 21 July morning I placed an order for a laptop on sale on Walmart.ca. Product was an ** laptop that cost $937.88CAD tax incl. The order went to the supplier for processing but not until 5 days(after my supposed delivery date) later I got a cancellation email(********) stating it was a price error. When I contacted Walmart Canada I was informed that the product was actually out of stock(********). Walmart claimed the product was sold out but at the same time that it was a price error? Those two statements completely contradict each other and I confronted them about it to which they have not given me a reasonable explanation. In order for what they say to be true there are 2 possibilities:
A) They never had stock of the product in question as they never shipped a single laptop. How can they when it's a price error, correct? **** ***** ***** ****** * *** ** ********* ** ** *** **** ***** ******* ********* ****** ********* **** **** ****** ***** **** * ********* *** ********* ********* ********* They gained access to my personal information, credit card information when in normal circumstances I wouldn't provide those to them.
B) They did have stock which was in a ** warehouse, but the supplier refused to sell and to ship the product. That is supported by the tracking information. Wouldn't it have been correct on their part to inform the customer right away instead of putting money on hold and preventing me from shopping elsewhere? It proves that there was in fact stock *** **** **** ** ***** ** ***** ********
On Aug 6 the laptop came back on stock. I ordered again(for $1998 plus tax) as was advised by one of their staff and asked for a price adjustment to which they refused telling me it was actually a website glitch. After so many different answers from their reps I don't trust walmart for anything they say as they can't even get their story straight. I was contacted by walmart today in regards to my complaint with an almost insulting auto-generated response. They assure me I won't be charged for the product when I clearly am charged $2000+tax until I return the product which they claimed was out of stock, but now is a price error. *** *** ** ****** ** ******* **** ********* **** *** **** ***** * ** ****** *** **** *** ******** ********* * ******. I don't think Walmart Canada is trying in any way to resolve this honestly apart from giving $10 gift certificate which is less than an hour salary of one of their associates.Customer Answer

A whole lot of people residing in a certain province whose orders were not even cancelled in the first place got their laptops this week. Everyone else gets fed the same pre-written lies from Walmart Canada without even a follow up. This speaks loudly about the type of business they're running. Two days ago on August 9 I went on the Walmart website and saw they had ***** ******* *** *** with wireless charging case for $149. It said available in nearby stores I clicked on that it said in stock at Orillia Ontario. So I went to the store showed the lady and electronics the ad and said I want a set of these she gave them to me I paid for them $149 plus $16 for the two-year warranty plus tax came to a total of $186.32. I got home open them to find out they do not have the wireless charging case just a regular case. I did the online chat they told me I had to call the store I called the store they told me I had to call the one 800 number I called them they said I had to go into the store. The store said they don't actually carry the ones with the wireless charging case so they wouldn't be able to exchange them for what was advertised. At the time **** *** had the ones with the wireless charging case on sale as well but I purchase from Walmart as they were a bit cheaper and now I can't even get the proper ones from **** *** because the sale is over. Since I purchased them they have taken that ad down and put up a new ad where they are now $179 still says they are available to pick up at the Orillia store, still has the false advertising because it says they come with the wireless charging case. I went through all the Walmart channels I could to try to resolve this and have them exchange this set for what was advertised with no resolution so now I am writing you to see if you can please help me. I took pictures of the ad showing that it says it comes with the wireless charging case and available in store. This is my first set of ***** ******* so I didn't really know anything about them and when I looked it up to see why this wasn't charging on my wireless charger the wireless charging case has a light on the front and this one doesn't. I placed an online order and realized that it was the wrong size. I canceled the order and they sent me back my refund on a digital gift card with no barcode to scan and WITH NO BALANCE ON IT!! Hi.
My husband and I picked up a box of Great Value Extra Creamy Mac and Cheese on Friday August 5th and ate it on Saturday for lunch.
We found a piece of plastic in our Mac and Cheese * *** ******. It is a pretty substantial piece of plastic, as we were also sharing our Mac and Cheese with our 21 month old son. July 6 2022 Walmart Canada Store #03189 Laval, Quebec H7W 3S9
I wanted to purchase an Electric Toothbrush, it was priced on- line on clearance for $15. Walmarts website says this store has in-stock and that the in-store price is also $15. I proceeded to this store and was told that the price was impossible and that they did not have the item. When their stock showed 16 on- hand. The original price was 29.96. I asked the associate to verify the information on-line and she refused. I was told that the only similar item was at 24.97. So I purchased it. The associate at the customer service counter did not verify the stock or even try to help me. I had taken a screen shot but had forgotten my phone at home. I then proceeded to call Walmart customer service and they confirmed that indeed they had 16 on hand but on-line prices are not the same as in store...I then asked why does their site specifically specify that the in-store price was $15? I said I could prove this because I had taken a screenshot and was repeated that no online and in-store prices are not the same. False advertisement on their part and horrendous customer service.Business Response

I purchased a beef flavored *** ******* bowl from Walmart in *** *******, NS for work. I began to prepare the bowl. I opened the bowl, put the seasoning and the vegetables inside the bowl from the provided packages and filled the bowl with water up to the line to prepare for the microwave. I then noticed a large yellow piece of hard plastic floating to the top of the bowl. I removed it, showed several people that were nearby and immediately attempted to contact the company. I recieved and called on the 20th of april to find out how much i owed the balance was 4526.32. Which i paid
3 months later i recieved a statement in the mail dated the 15th of july stated that i still owe 13.15.
I called them the same day i received the letter 23rd of july. Talked to an operator that passed me onto walmart financial services.
I was talking to rick the supervisor employee number **** that stated everything the operator did. But i was quoted 3 different prices 13.15 and 13.43 till finally 13.64 which i paid because he said they would pay me back.
I was so confused and had mixed feeling about paying . * **** * *** ***** ********* . i did cancel my account just incase they were going to charge me more in 3 months down the road. He did say that the conversation would be recorded in the beginning so they should have the proof on tape.
Its been 2 weeks and i have not recieved anything back.Business Response
