      I have service with Republic Services for residential waste. They pick up my trash or service my trash container every Thursday of the week. On Thursday March 6, 2025, the truck went by but my trash container was not emptied completely it was left more than half full. I don't know if the driver was in a hurry and did not allow the mechanical arm to fully empty my container before leaving. I went online on their web site and filed a missed my trash order for them to return and pick up my trash. They responded and advised that they would send a truck by the following day which was Friday March 7th. Friday cam and gone and no one went to pick up trash. I called again and I was told that since it was late already that they were going to send a truck till Monday March 10th. Monday came and again no show. I spoke to so many people claiming that they would resolve my issue from customer support to senior advisors and I was never transferred to a supervisor. Again, I was told that Tuesday someone would go and pick up my trash also that someone would reach out to me which did not happen. I have called them repeatedly and I always get the run around and its always tomorrow. Now its Thursday my regular trash pickup day and sure they went by but I still had trash in my garage due to them not picking up last weeks trash. I had to pay someone to pick up my trash to be taken away because it was causing a foul smell and potential health hazard. I am very upset that they have not even taken the time to contact me even if its to blow more smoke at me. Ironically, I am setup with auto pay for their services and my payment was deducted while this incident is happening. Why is it that they are ***** at collecting payments but not to return calls or do their job.

      supervisor ***** ***** called resident and talked to about the issue, supervisor had sent out a brush truck that picks up brush and not a resi. trash truck that's where the confusion was, they talked and ***** gave his cell number for any other questions or issues.

      I did recive a call from ***** but I dont need an excuse. I attempted to talk to a supervisor every single time I called and I was always given excuses and contact was denied. Now that I had to pay someone else to pick up my trash for that week I belive the only correct thing to do in their part is to give me credt on my account for the missed pick up week. I make sure to get better communication between them and their customers. All I am asking is fair refund for service I paid and did not recive.

      I have been trying to cancel services with Republic Services since July of 2024.       I am actively looking into your account and do see the contract notice you submitted. Additionally, I am reviewing the communication history, including your calls to our customer service center, to understand where the breakdown occurred and ensure this is handled appropriately.

      It looks like we have made efforts to provide competitive rates following the first term of your agreement. While we would hate to lose you as a valued customer, I understand your frustration, and my goal is for you to stay with Republic Services because you want tonot because of a contract.

      As of March 11th, 2025, Republic Services has not done their job on picking up our trash from their container for the past 3 WEEKS. We have paid them at least 2 times now for "late fees" and "deposit fees", along with the service fees and yet, they have not resumed their work.

      On the 18th of January 2025, a republic trash truck attempting to turn sharply on to my street, got stuck in the corner of my yard. The truck left three 8' trenches @ 18" deep. I've reached out to republic multiple times every other week since the and told that Indians should be contacting me in a few days. No one has contacted me yet and almost two months later.

      I am filing this complaint regarding the unethical and predatory business practices of Republic Services. The company has engaged in deceptive contract terms, excessive renewal penalties, and a lack of transparency in its pricing structure.:Failure to Communicate Contract Terms: Republic Services did not provide clear and timely notice of the contracts end date or renewal terms.Automatic 36-Month Renewals Without an Exit Option: The contract is auto-renewed for an additional 36 months without allowing customers to opt out without incurring exorbitant fees.Unreasonable Cancellation Requirements: Customers must send a certified letter no more than 180 days but no fewer than 60 days before the contracts expiration to cancel. There is no other cancellation method available.Lack of Customer Protections and Pricing Guarantees: The contract does not provide pricing stability, customer protections, or reasonable renegotiation terms.Excessive and Unjustified Price Increases: Since 2019, my monthly fees have increased from $65 to $153, with a $30 increase occurring in just one month. Republic Services justifies these hikes by vaguely citing increased operating costs without a clear breakdown.Perpetual Predatory Contract Cycle: Any attempt to renegotiate terms automatically locks customers into another ******** contract, further trapping them in an unfair renewal cycle.Lack of Transparency and Online Cancellation Options: While Republic Services effectively communicates billing and service updates through its online portal, it does not provide an option to cancel service or request contract termination without incurring penalties.Many other customers have reported similar issues through ****** and Yelp reviews, highlighting a pattern of predatory practices. I am seeking resolution in the form of fair and transparent cancellation options, reasonable pricing structures, and an end to automatic long-term contract renewals without customer consent.

      Thank you for providing feedback. Republic Services has contacted the customer directly from one of our local Account Managers to work towards resolving the issue. Republic Services offers Service Agreements that are designed to protect both the customer and company. Like many industries, our operational costs are not immune to the inflationary period we are in and unfortunately subject to pass along some of these costs. But we very much value the partnership we have with our customers and immediately are addressing all concerns. Account Manager's goal is to present solution that addresses cancellation options, price structure and renewal terms.

      The republic Services account manager did reach out to me and offered to reduce the monthly fee but in turn will reduce the amount of times they will service my property.  I do not agree with the terms but there are no other options since I am still in contract until May 2026. Additionally, even though there is a new price for 2x monthly of services there is still no price guarantee;
       which means that I could be charged the agreed upon amount or it could increase to any price "according to "industry standards," which again has no price protections for consumers bound by the terms of the contract.
      There was nor response from Republic Services about improving their contract terms or notifying customers of the auto-renew practices for an additional 36 months.  Republic Services has the technology through their online portal, via email and text messages to notify customers of their upcoming contract expiration, but there is no current methods or initiative to notify customers in order to provide customers with an option to exit the contract in a timely manner or to re-negotiate without having to sign another 36 month contract.  
      These broader contract terms/issues should be further addressed by the BBB.

      I have confirmed with the Account Manager that a new proposal was sent that reduces the price and frequency that was from the customer. Per the customer's preference, this does not extend the existing agreement's length and has no auto-renew. We are currently waiting written and signed agreement to make these changes.

      Like most businesses in today's economy, predicting future expenses is near impossible. The waste and recycling industry is subject to increased cost of doing business relating to everything included but not limited to landfill, disposal, steel, fleet, labor, utilities and much more. We do our best to control these costs but they are still unpredictable and from time to time, need to pass them along to the customer. In regard to our standard agreements, we can not change standard language as these are tested and approved to protect both the customer and ********************. Per your email confirmation, the new proposal does not extend the agreement and voids any renewal. We are waiting to signature from the customer to make these changes. Thank you.

      My account with ******************** (RS) is inactive (for 1 8 cubic yard). I don't know why. I didn't request it. So, I have been calling and trying to activate it. I was transferred to the sale team many times, and I was put on hold forever and stuck there. I have been trying for 2 days. My dumpster is full, my tenant keeps calling me for emptying it. Why it is so hard to get hold of the company. I knew ** is the only one company allowed to service in my area. Why there is such a nightmare situation -- monopoly -- happening like this and I have no choice to hire another dumpster company.

      We started with this company for our trash pickup service. A year later they increased out rates over 25%When we tried to cancel they said we are in a 36 month contract and it says they can raise the rates to whatever they want to while still keeping you locked into the contract.After trying to resolve this peacefully we have no choice but to report this predatory business practices and contact a lawyer

      We have used Republic Services for years. In the last year they have increased our monthly price without our agreement and without notification. We were paying $605 per month and it jumped to $738 without any notice. They have also started raising the total fuel environmental recovery fee to $183 per month which is outrageous. We have requested termination of our trash service and the removal of our dumpster. They have continuously ignored phone calls, voicemails, and emails. When we have talked to an actual employee, they have told us that we signed a contract that we have not signed. They have an electronic signature but nothing else on the form is complete. Every time we speak with an employee, they tell us they will escalate this matter to management and never call back. We spoke with **** ***** and she told us that due to our long history with Republic Services she was going to speak to management and try to get this resolved quickly and amicably and she never returned our phone calls or emails after that. At this point we feel they are just dragging the matter out to get more money out of us. It is very frustrating to not be able to call and get an employee and to not receive replies to our emails. We feel that this is not the way a business should operate, with their customers feeling like they are being held hostage.

      We spoke with Mrs. ****** and she let me know of some past concerns she has had with Republic.  She said **** was great in how she handled her situation but dealing with the frustrations of the price increases along with past issues of us having containers on her property just made her upset.

      I am crediting this month of service for her and let her know we will close the account at the end of the month.  I guaranteed we will continue to service her account until the end of the month as well. She was thankful that we are taking care of this situation.

      I canceled my service with RepublicServices and they are trying to charge me to pick up their own equipment that we used as part of the garbage pickup service. They are trying to charging me ***** to pick up their garbage cans. There is nothing on the bill that says that will be charged to pick up their equipment when I canceled the service with them. I don;t think I should have to pay them for them to pick up there equipment that used as part of the service.

      I have been a customer with ******************** at my same address for over 2 years now. On Tuesday, 2/04/2025, I put my garbage bin out for regular pick up service to be collected the next day, Wednesday 2/05/2025. When I went to go collect my bin from the curb that day, it was no longer there. When I logged in to my online account to see if I could find a reason for my bin being removed, I discovered that my account had been cancelled. I did not ask for this cancellation, nor did I receive notice that it had been cancelled. When I called Republic the next day, Thursday 2/6/2025, I was informed that my account had been cancelled due to an error, as there are 2 houses on the property I live on, and new tenants had just moved into the other house, and when they called to set up their account, mine was cancelled. I was then informed that a new garbage bin would be dropped off on Wednesday 2/12/2025. That day came and the bin was not dropped off. called again on Thursday, 2/13/2025 and was informed that they did see that that had not been completed and they would try to have it out in the next few days. Due to weather and the holiday I gave them some ****** but I still did not have a bin by EOD Tuesday, 2/18/2025. I called again on Wednesday, 2/19/2025 and was informed that they showed it was delivered on 2/17/2025, but I do not have the bin and the *** couldn't find any further proof other than the note, so she said that she would escalate it and I would hear back from someone. By EOD Wednesday, 2/19/2025, I still do not have a garbage bin, and I have garbage piling up all due to an error on the company's end. I just want my garbage bin to be delivered as promised.
