I brought out my lawn waste for the last three weeks as there was a discrepancy between the online schedule and the one we got in the mail. Doesnt matter caused 5hey skipped us the last three weeks. Called the office on 5/27/25. I was originally hung up on by someone named ****. I called again and a woman named ****** lied to me and told me the lawn waste would be picked up later that day or the next day. Neither happened. Walked out last night to find they didnt pick up our recycling either. I filed a complaint before. We are being exorbitantly charged to poor service and are tired of being lied to.Business Response

The homeowner did not have the cans out for service on the last Yard Waste pick up day of 5-19-25 at 10:25am. The yard waste is scheduled every other week. I confirmed that yard waste was collected yesterday 6-2-25. The recycle pick up was on a two day delay last week and was collected on Thursday at 7:03am. Was evicted from my unit and was trying to cancel the service so that it wouldnt keep adding up spoke to ****** and ********* who both refused to close the account saying that it needed to be paid and if I didnt pay I would continue to be charged until it was I was evicted from my unit I cant afford to pay anything because I lost my job I offered them a forwarding address to send me a bill so that when I could afford to pay them I would it can not be legal to keep customers accounts open and refuse to close them so that the bills keep adding up when someone has been evicted or can not afford to pay the bill that is illegalBusiness Response

Last year, I was charged a $25.00 late fee. Apparently, I had missed an emailed bill in August or September of 2024 and after 6 years of on-time payments, there was no attempt to contact me, just late fees. I am very confused about the billing cycle of Republic Services and feel it is hard to understand the dates of their billing. I have since requested paper bills, but feel the ambiguity around when and how they bill enables them to charge late fees. Their practices should be far more transparent. Instead of mailing me a bill when I was late for over ************************************************************************** $25 when I had no idea I had even missed a payment.Business Response

The collection fee was charged after the 8/31/24 invoice for $57.77, and the 9/30/24 late fee invoice for $4.62 was not paid, both of which were mailed to the billing address on account. The collection fee was then assessed on 11/4/24 for $25.00, with the past due balance being paid on 11/20/24. As a 1 time courtesy, the $25.00 collection fee will be waived and the credit will be applied towards the next billing cycle.
Please make note of the quarterly billing with balance due in the following months; March, June, September and December, and the account is registered to receive paper invoice by mail.

Evrytime the trash is picked up at my home, the driver is in such a hurry they don't give the trash time to come out of the trash can! Every collection of the cans there is trash or recycle materials in the bins! Truck #**** was the latest truck. Next is an HOA complaint in *********. We have reviewed the complaint by ******* ***** with the Better Business Bureau. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify the situation.
On 5/27, our crew serviced Mr. ****** waste cart and recycle carts. This same day Mr. ***** called reporting that some boxes remained in their cart after service. We understand the frustration when waste and recycle carts are not emptied in their entirety.
Upon receiving the complaint, we immediately scheduled a driver to re-service the cart on the following day as it was 1:14 PM at the time of the call and too late into the day to recover same day. Our primary goal is always to provide complete and satisfactory service and believed this prompt re-service would resolve the issue to the customers satisfaction.
We regret that the customer felt that the conversation with our customer service representatives on boxes potentially being packed too tightly in the container was not satisfactory. It is not intended to shift blame but rather to understand the potential cause of the issue, which can sometimes be due to material being compacted or wedged within the cart,preventing them from shaking free during the typical dumping process. This information helps us advise customers on best practices.
We regret that Mr. ***** felt the need to escalate their concern to the Better Business Bureau after only one reported service issue, less than 24 hours after the complaint was filed. There is no history of calls or complaints from Mr. ***** prior to this one. We strive to resolve all issues directly and efficiently with our customers and believe we acted swiftly to rectify the situation within 24 hours of the issue being made aware to us.
We consider the matter to be resolved, we promptly returned to complete the service the following day and will be sure to empty the customers containers in their entirety moving forward. We value Mr. ****** business and are committed to providing reliable waste and recycle collection services.Customer Answer

They have not come to empty our trash bins I have two weeks worth of garbage bags sitting in my ********** because of this there are raccoons hanging around the yard and my wife and I are afraid to bring the kids out to play.iv had to pick up trash thats been scattered in the street because of the raccoons. Our normal trash pickup is scheduled for Wednesdays. On 5/21/25 our pickup was missed, so I sent in a missed pickup request to have another one. They again missed that trash pickup. I put in another request on Friday and then called them. I was told that they would not be able to schedule a 3rd time for pick up until Tuesday 5/27 due to the holiday. I understand there is a holiday, and that maybe one pickup, but now I am having to now put my trash outside and let it sit for week because they missed not 1 but 2 pickups. I pay my bill on time and now my trashcan is full with no pickup. This is a very large inconvenience, and this is NOT the first time this has happened.Business Response

I signed up for recycling services through Republic at the end of April. My first pickup was supposed to be May 5th. When I went to collect my bin from the curb, I noticed they didnt come. I had to call and they picked it up two days later. My next pickup was supposed to be this past Monday, May 19th. When I went to get my bin on Wednesday (it was a busy week and I didnt get to pull it up until then), it still had all my recycling in there. I had to take about a half an hour out of my workday yesterday to call. I was told a manager would call me back yesterday regarding my complaint, and no one called. I spoke to a representative because I expect compensation for such terrible service, and he credited me only $3 despite the fact they KEEP missing my pick *** and I have to keep taking time out of my day to call. This is terrible terrible service. And Republic Services seems to think its acceptable.Business Response

We have been customers of **********************, and it's predecessors, for over twenty years. We pay quarterly fees for the pick up of one 96 gallon tote. The rate has been increasing each quarter for years; the last charge in January 2025 was $665.98, which covered us through April 9. The new charge, beginning April 9, was $839.65. I called to cancel on 4/2, and did not have any trash picked up past that as we were using another provider, at a distinctly lower rate.When speaking to the accounts **** we were offered a new quarterly rate of $240, which we declined. I am now being charged $296 pro-rated for the month of April (1/3 of the $839) which I feel is egregious in light of what was being offered as the new rate. Republic has been overcharging for years based on what I was offered. I will gladly pay $80, 1/3 of the new offered rate, to resolve this issue.Business Response

Our 3 year contract expired back in March. We requested to cancel the service after the contract date.Without our consent, they renewed our contract at 3x higher rate than their competition.-they did not give us a written notice of a renewal of contract.-They breached your own contract by increasing the price before the contract expired. The price went up by $50 back in December of 2024. Not sure where it states in the fine print that you can increase prices at any given time, without notifying.-We did NOT sign a new contract requesting for another 3 years.-We requested MULTIPLE times to have the service canceled prior to the contract expiring on 3/22/25. **** ****** @ Republic Trash should be ASHAMED of herself and how she conducts business. Until Republic trash service picks up their trash receptacle and does NOT charge anymore fees, we will NOT be satisfied.
THIS IS SOME OF THE WORST CASE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. THEIR CONTRACTS ARE PREDATORY, BEWARE TO ALL!
If we are charged any sore of "fee" for simply canceling an already expired contract, then we will file a complaint with the *************************

On May 15th I had about pickup ordered for Republic services they picked up my garbage but left garbage all over the street creating a safety hazard to the public next to a storm sewer called them about 20 minutes after they picked it up they were supposed to come out Thursday that same day did not they were supposed to come out Friday and they did not then they were supposed to come out this yesterday Monday and they did not still getting the runaround with customer service to have this picked up trying to upload photos and videos that I have from my ring doorbell also from my camera phone but the file is too bigBusiness Response
