***** again will I use UHaul. Picked up my truck and the inside was dirty with cigarette ashes everywhere. Then upon returning, I cleaned the rental and returned it a day before; but nothing in return. You dont get the $25 for cleaning the rental before bringing it back. One of the worst companys with rude customer service reps. ***** using ********************** again. Telling my friends and family not to EVER use UHaul again!U-Haul International Inc

Rented a 26 foot box truck for long move. The top of truck was not maintenance and leaked during storms for four days ruining most of my furnishings etc. I am sent to ******** which is a complete joke. Wanting me to do all the work and submit photos etc for pennies on a dime. No one offered to help get unloaded and document then the damage. Don't use them. You will regret it. I reserved a trailer on august 22nd that had been cancelled and the store employee somehow reactivated my reservation without my knowledge or consent. I received a cancellation email however no such mail stating my reservation had been resumed. I was then overcharged not reflecting what my receipt had originally stated at ***** but at ***** I believe. I then called to complain about the charges that have since over drafted my bank account and the customer service agent said she was going to have the general manager email me back with a response its been about two weeks now and no word. I called back and the agent I spoke with today informed me that there was no dispute even filed or contact made with the manager. I've now got a dispute number for my complaint but I am very angry that my card was used without my knowledge and consent after i was under the impression my reservation was cancelled. Also, all of this was done without my knowledge by someone down at the 29 road uhaul and I was not called once to verify if I even wanted my reservation cancelled in the first place. Totally unprofessional and I believe, Illegal, at least call me so I could have had some knowledge instead of deciding the person at the uhaul even had the authority to make changes such as these.U-Haul International Inc

I have rented a storage unit from the same U-Haul location for years. I don't have a garage so it substitutes for storing sports equipment, decorations, camping gear, etc. A new manager took over and after a few months I started having trouble with their auto pay system. I stopped the auto pay and started paying through Bill *** from my bank account. A physical check is mailed to the location. Last winter, the check cleared my bank, but was never credited to my U-Haul account, and ********************** couldn't trace it. Eventually, they decided the best way to fix the problem was to give me an "free" month. Now it has happened again. I'm pretty sure my check is being mishandled/deposited by someone in the office, but this time they are charging me the $36 late fee and have locked my unit. I am working with my bank on this, but in the future I will be taking a physical payment to the location each month and getting a receipt.U-Haul International Inc

Unreliable, dishonest, and an absolute mess of a company. The website is horrible, and every representative I spoke to was uninformed and unhelpful. The left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing left me spending two weeks trying to track down my U-Box and get it delivered to the correct place (which I had already paid to have it delivered to) resulting in me not being able to move into my new apartment for two weeks.U-Haul International Inc

So I needed a truck to move I went in and the total was about $65 higher than the quote and I didn't have enough on my card, my god son was there and offered to pay they allowed him to swipe his card and I got the paper saying call customer service. A couple of weeks before I guess he tried to pay for one of his friends truck and his friend had an outstanding balance he knew nothing about and now he's linked to the balance and can't rent as am I. I have called emailed and continually asked for something in writing tell me what information they have linking me to the other person's account the only link was my godson trying pay with his card. Idk call me old and dumb but I assumed that because I wasn't on the contract, nor do I even know the person I wouldn't be given theat person's personal information and contract BUT I have it and NO IDK the person NO my godson name nor mine isn't on/in the contract BUT we're blocked for life until the person pays the balance FORGET the fact I've personally dealt with U-Haul for decades and have never had anything of this sort happen before. It's absolutely crazy that they can attach you to these situations in this manner bc I am grown and not responsible for any debt other than my own!..#BANNES IN THE ***??U-Haul International Inc

Made a reservation for a 10' box truck August 26th for pickup in **********, ** August 31st. It was a one-way reservation from ********** to ****, **. I was called August 30th at 7:00 p.m., by a U-Haul representative telling me that they didn't have a truck for me. What needed to be moved had to be moved no later than August 31st.What is the point of having a reservation? I was left to scramble at the last minute and will never do business with U-Haul again.U-Haul International Inc

This is the worst company by far!! I don't know how they get away with doing what they do. I rented a truck from uhual and upon renting it i had to wait for check in. During my check in the *** tells me to make I bring the truck back to that location and he tells the woman that he uses that truck for his business so the time. This was a car lot i picked up from. Well right away i noticed the check engine light and told uhual that it was on and their response was as long as its not flashing. Well after loading it up and over halfway into our trip which was less than 15 blocks away the check engine light started blinking. I get to where i can pull over and called them. I was directed to park the truck and wait. I went ahead and drove the 4 blocks ahead as there was no where safe to leave it. We had to pay family and friends to move to rest of our stuff and lost the deposit on the moving team we used. We had to wait for a tow truck to come from another state who told us this thing could've blown up at any time. I had my 7 month old and 2yr old in this truck at one point. He said when he pulled the cap off all the plugs came out with it and there's no way they didn't know this. Well I ask uhual what are they going to do about this as we can't use the truck. You know they still charged me and got a extra day because the tow truck came from out of state because no one local wanted to touch a uhual truck. We spoke to the gentleman from the tow truck who stated he would testify that the truck shouldn't have been rented out like that and we were put in a dangerous situation. I've called uhual many times trying to get this resolved as not only did i have to pay for a truck i couldn't use. I lost my deposit and had to pay other people to finish moving our stuff as the truck sat at my apartment complex in front of cameras unable to be moved.. stay away from this company! No they are holding my storage unit hostage. I have my whole life in that storage unit and about to lose it.U-Haul International Inc

Went to pick up my reservation, am told they've been "overbooked for weeks". Cool, so then why is your website allowing me to make reservations, and better still, your scheduling department should know this and heaven forbid CALL PEOPLE. This review is in no way to target the local owners of the establishment where I picked the truck up from I'm sure they treat their customers fine Unfortunately the ********************** by me at ******************************************* and all other main centers was out of any size trucks or vans smaller than 26 feet and that was too large to operate. Got to the facility near ** was told they were all our got a 24 hour booking to head to the Dover authorized U-Haul location at ******************************************************************** at 7:30 PM where it took 2-3 hours to attempt to reserve and locate a vehicle the U-Haul app did not want to do the reservation even though it was already secured. Then had to process a new one had to sit on the phone over 65 minutes like a dog and go through 3 verifications of people in my contacts they had to speak with to verify I exist along with a selfie of my flipping face and a full front and back of my license. Then after that not being enough employment verification and a lease agreement I kid you not. We left with the reservation completed very sweaty frustrated in tears a complete wreck. Twice as much as the original quote I was promised deducted immediately from my card not a hold this time. To add insult to injury it was so dark could not see anything got hit with the dark and scraped my knee this is so horrible and it's corporate Uhauls fault for not having more people man the phone lines not having more vehicles at the main centers and us having to rely on an app that has to basically pre-determine who it wants to rent it's vehicles predatory and discriminative at best. Both my credit and income is great I felt treated less than a dog. I feel so insulted as Arabic person who is disabled. I did not meet the owners of this location nor do any business with them only with the awful corporate online. I always handle business in person because things can go wrong and in this case so far everything has gone wrong. Card was charged $281.83.U-Haul International Inc
