Dear Better Business Bureau,I recently purchased a rim for my front left wheel and had it installed at Discount Tire. Before my visit, I had a spare tire on the front left, secured with five lug bolts. After the installation, the employee who returned my keys informed me that one of the bolts was not attached because it was the "wrong bolt." However, they failed to inform me of any existing damage to the wheel hub. If the hub was already damaged before installation, I had no way of knowing. When I mentioned that ****** had previously installed the spare tire, I was told that they might have caused the damagebut I have no way to confirm this. Cotsco would likely make the same claim, which creates uncertainty about when the damage actually occurred. Regardless, there was negligence from the start, as I was never informed of any issue until it was too late.Later, when I visited ***** to have the correct bolt installed, they informed me that the area where the bolt was supposed to go was damaged beyond repair. They stated that the only solution was to replace the wheel hub, which would cost $400.I then returned to Discount Tire to explain the issue. I was referred to a repair shop, but the shop confirmed Midas' assessmentthe hub was damaged and required replacement. Despite this, Discount Tire has declined to cover the cost of repairs.I firmly believe that this damage occurred during the installation process at Discount Tire, and I am seeking assistance in resolving this matter. I would appreciate Discount Tire taking responsibility for the damage and covering the necessary repair costs. Please let me know how we can move forward to address this issue.

**** in to purchase new tires.. Have a quote from another company.. They will always meet or beat the competition.. I have done this many times and have never had an issue with them until now. I took in 2 quotes for tires.. one for 50k warranty tires for $408, another for 65k warranty tires for $504. They told me they did not have any 50k tires in stock but could do a 40k for that price.. I said absolutely not.. I said I wanted tires to match warranties not just "notes" They *** said we do not carry the 65k tires but do have 60k.. I said the 60k were fine to match that price.. He said great I got them done and I figured all was well... 20 min after I got home I got the receipt in my email and they charged me for the 65k tires and only put tires that had a 50k warranty on the car.. After saying they did not have any of them.. They then put in the notes "honor a 65k warranty" after I explicitly told them that is not what I wanted and the warranties must match.. They used a bait and switch on me just to charge me the higher price.. I talked to the manager and he said we do it all the time.. The quality of the tire is better.. etc.. Due to it being tires, i was not really able to just go back and return them and get my old ones back as they were disposed of. The manager said he would go ahead and refund me the difference and charge me the lower quote.. which i was very reluctant to do but I had no other option.. He said i would recieve a check within 3-4 days.. its been over a week and nothing. I am really not happy with the tires, service, scamming, and broken promises.. I have had to spend 2-3 hours of extra time trying to resolve this and paying additional interest on my high interest credit card I used to purchase the tires.. I am very upset.

I purchased tires on April 17, 2021 from Discount Tire in ****** for $1,064. The purchase included a ****** mile Tire Mileage Warranty. On that date, I also purchased an Installation and Life of Tire Maintenance Warranty for an additional $88.Between 2021 and 2025 I returned to Discount Tire at various times for minor issues, repairs and maintenance. On February 20, 2025 I returned to Discount Tire for an alignment and a slow leak. I was told that alignment could not be performed because the tires had worn too thin. Discount Tire agreed that the tires had traveled ****** miles (less than the ****** in the warranty). The company refused to honor the warranty stating that the tires should have been aligned more frequently. I paid for new tires.I located the warranty on the Discount Tire invoice from 2021, it does not indicate any exception based on alignment (or anything else). I attempted to locate information about the warranty on the company website, but no information is available at the location provided on the invoice.I am seeking the purchase price of the new tires. $962.46 I have all receipts/invoices including the original purchase and warranties.

On January 23, 2025 I had my winter tire change completed at this location. Prior to driving to my appointment I washed my car at a self service car wash in an effort to provide a clean vehicle for service. I personally washed my car and there was no damage on my drivers side door when I washed it, or when I exited my vehicle at discount tire. When I arrived at discount tire, I opened and closed the drivers side door for the technician to check my mileage and there was still no damage on the door prior to me leaving my keys with their staff. When my service was completed, I immediately noticed a dent on the drivers side door at the edge of the door. I walked back into the store and made the staff member who had given me back my car key aware of the dent and he notified his manager. The manager came out and looked at the dent and said that he would notify their claims department. I asked if they had all of the information they needed from me for the claim and he said yes. On 1/27 I called discount tire and spoke with the same manager who assisted me on the 1/23, as I had not heard anything back from their claims department and had not received any sort of voicemail or email follow up regarding the damage to my vehicle. He assured me he would check into why I had not received a response and that a claim had indeed been placed. It is now a month later and I still have not received any sort of follow up regarding the damage to my car door.

Dear BBB,I purchased a set of four tires for my 2015 Mercedes E350 sedan from discount tire about two years ago. When I purchased the tires, they did not state I needed an alignment done on the vehicle. I sense gone to discount tire to have maintenance done such as rotating tires, making sure everything is wearing appropriately, having them filled up where they check the tire thoroughly, both visually, and with their handheld computer, and there's been no issues. Additionally, when i've come in to check the air, they've never stated that I needed to have the tires rotated or any other maintenance done, even though i've come to make an appointment, they've refused saying it wasn't necessary.I just went to the ******** dealership last month and they stated that the tires are worn unevenly, and when i ate spoke with the **************** advisor, they stated that it was due to the car needing in alignment probably. He proceeded to tell me that unfortunately discount tire doesn't advise their customers that they need an alignment. He stated he believed this is because they hope that the customer will end up getting tired sooner, rather than later period this is the case I had. I'm wondering why discount tire never told me when i put the tires on my car, or at any time prior to the dealership noticing the wear on the tires, that i needed to have had an alignment.I went ahead and purchased 4 tires from discount tire when I was out of state at their ******************, **** location. I didn't feel i should have to pay for these tires, as I have come and done everything possible to make sure they were operating and wearing appropriately. I would like a full refund please. When the discount tire representative contacts me, please have them provide their full name, their direct phone number, direct e-mail address, the hours they are available, and the best time to reach them. I have previously submitted this through the Better Business Bureau system, but it was lost.

Long time customer of ********************** on ****** in ********* ****. went today , 20 Feb for a scheduled tire rotation/balance on a 2001 *** 325Ci *** told me rotation was free but if I wanted the tires balanced during rotation would be $14 a tire. Said yes to the fee for balancing. After he checked the car he started the upsale pitch with 4 to 5/10ths tread remaining on the tires. On his second pass on the upsale I explained to him that I was going to ***lace the set of this on this vehicle and wifea *** this Summer could he just rotate and balance the tires as requested. *** proceeded with a third pass at an upsale for a new set of tires that I needed to purchase today for my safety. I told him that I was a long time customer and have had four other vehicles on my customer record - that I have routinely purchased ***** and have had them rotated tbere evry ****** miles - would he just rotate and balance the tires on this vehicle. Then, in a **** the *** then says - well it wont do you any good to rotate these tires that tread depth - anyway. I sad fine - grabbed my keys , wished him a good day and departed. Request an answer from the business as to whether the protocol for an upsale was more important than having a reasonable conversation with a long time customer who has had a number of vehicles serviced there for years? Volume of foot traffic and commissions off upsale tactlcs/protocols outweigh customer service and retention? Really? That is exactly my impression ***ly from business if they actually care - is requested. Have left a voicemail with regional customer service with no ***ly. Today I voted with my feet after ***eatedly requesting a scheduled service be performed. Someone own up and show that having my vehicles to be continued to be serviced as DT is worthwhile. Awaiting ***ly.

On November 22nd, I brought in two tires, bought two tires, and asked all four be put on my car. One of my old tires was still pretty good, I asked to keep it. To purchase two tires, and have all four put on, I was charged $459.02. I was apparently given all of the extra insurance on their tires that I could be given, all without asking me if I wanted any of it.When I got home, I also noticed that they kept the tire that I had originally asked to keep. When I reached out, I got no answer. When I posted a ****** complaint, they finally reached out to be, but never responded on any solution for me. This is an unprofessional business and absolutely took advantage of me by charging me that much for only two tires.

Discount Tire incompetently lifted our pristine 2017 *********************** by the running boards causing extensive damage.Discount Tire's insurance company has sent a check for 1/30th the cost of this repair with a notice that this check is final and settles all claims. Their terms and conditions are REJECTED!We have wasted many hours trying to resolve this and the insurance company is very slow to respond (if they ever do) and is dragging their feet while our vehicle has a major component that cannot be used. My 5yr old cannot get in the vehicle on his own and has to be lifted every time and my wife has back issues.I am disgusted with this company and how they are handling the damage caused by their negligence. They need to step up and pay the bill on this instead of leaving us hanging with thousands of dollars of damage!

While i have been contacted by the claims department their solution is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

At first they were offering a pittance to TOTAL LOSS our previously pristine vehicle.  They offered less than half what I had it sold for just prior to the damage caused by Discount Tire's negligence.

Now they want to give us only the estimated repair cost (and there's always supplementals), with no accounting for the 4 weeks the repair will take and no rental vehicle, no depreciation and no compensation for our time that they are wasting.

We are no where even close to an agreement with Discount Tire over the damage caused by their negligence and their insurance company is trying to s**** us out of our pristine vehicle with an offer of less than half the value of it.

This company is horrible to deal with and I have submitted a complaint to the Department of Consumer affairs for unfair way they are treating us.  We will likely have to cover all these costs and take them to court over this as they are refusing to make us whole again after the damage they caused.

in recent history, in the past 3 yrs i have ordered tires online @ *******/discount tire, on EVERY occasion i was contacted and told the tires i ordered and paid for were not available, on all 3 incidents i was offered to purchase a different tire at double the price of what i paid for and ordered, how do they continue to get away with obvious lies and deception, if they only want to sell specific tires, then they should only advertise those products, to lie and false advertise tires they do not have or will not have is against the law and needs to STOP, this is really getting old, do something about FALSE ADVERTISMENT, only advertise what's in stock or readily available, not just what they make more money off of THX, ****

I have been a loyal Discount Tire (DT) customer for years, but I am disappointed with their recent handling of my situation. After my vehicle was towed home, I submitted an insurance claim and contacted DT. They insisted I pay for repairs out of pocket, claiming that neither they nor my insurance would take responsibility. A mechanic later determined that the issue arose from over-tightened wheel bolts during tire installation.Despite this, DT stated that too many miles had passed since the tire replacement for them to act and advised me to work with my insurance. "As we all pay for insurance, not for them to take this self serving position." Ultimately, they offered to reimburse my $500 deductible, which does not cover the repair costs. I was informed that management denied liability because of the miles driven since installation, despite the fact that more miles lead to increased stress on tires and bolts. They suggested I continue to discuss this with my insurance representative, claiming that insurance is meant to cover damages rather than taking any responsibility for their mistakes. DT emphasized that the deductible was a goodwill gesture and urged me to approve it quickly. I am highly disappointed by the way DT has handled this situation. After years of loyalty and trust in their services, I now face a hefty repair bill resulting from the over-tightened bolts installed by their team. They would prefer to shift responsibility to my insurance rather than address the consequences of their actions. I am grateful that my son and his aunt noticed a problem and pulled over before serious accidents occurred. Thankfully, nothing major happened, but DT might have preferred to ignore the issue until significant collateral damage occurred. At least, that is what they feel. I hope the business pays closer attention to these details in the future; this incident could have been much worse had the driver and passenger not noticed the unusual way the vehicle behaved.

While I want to acknowledge that I currently have an open claim with your company, I feel compelled to express my dissatisfaction through the Better Business Bureau. I've previously communicated my concerns, and I am increasingly frustrated with the response I have received thus far.

It seems as though the approach being taken is dismissive, with the sentiment that since no physical harm came to individuals, theres no significant reason to delve deeper into the matter. This perspective feels like a disregard for the stress and inconvenience the situation has caused me. The compensation being offered, which merely covers my deductible, seems grossly inadequate. It barely accounts for the expenses incurred for the towing and storage of my vehicle at the mechanic who will be working on the repairs.

In my conversations with the representative, I couldn't shake the feeling that my concerns were not being taken seriously. It appeared as though I was being held responsible for what was clearly an error on the part of Discount Tires. As a long-standing customer who has always appreciated your services, I am deeply disappointed by the level of service and support Ive encountered during this situation.

Given my experience, I am now left to reconsider my future patronage to your company. I feel compelled to share my experiences with my family and friends, as their opinions matter to me. I sincerely hope that you will take this feedback into consideration to improve your service and customer relations in the future.

Unfortunately I have not heard back from Discount Tires. I did call them to reach out and spoke with *****, but I am still waiting for them to rediscuss these matters after explaining and showing them proof my insurance is not covering anything since they deem it a mechanical failure.
