1 starSolidarity health, **** is a company that is slow in making payments, and all this does is create problems for the consumer. I now have bill collectors, calling my house and sending me letters because they are slow pay with the bills. I would never recommend them to anyone. they never even attempted to work with me to speed up the process of paying the bills.Review fromSandra S

1 star0 stars. They are a scam. They do not provide the services they they say they will. Slow processing times: for the 2 years I was with them, the excuse always used for slow processing time was that they had switched over to a new system and were short staffed. They continue to use that excuse. They have not processed some of my bills from 2021. False advertising due to poor model of operations: The concept they use regarding helping to pay bills is that they reprice what the bill to what they believe is a "fair" price, and send in only the price they feel is "fair", leaving the patient with the remainder. Solidarity does have a department that helps with this remaining cost, but your bill will usually end up in collections before they take the year or two to process that. How this relates to false advertising is that their terms of agreement state that wellness visits and vaccines are "shared" (meaning covered). However, if Solidarity determines that what the provider billed for the preventive visit or the vaccine is not fair, they will not *********** the full cost (again, leaving the patient with the remainder of the bill). Given their model of operations, the manner in which they advertise is extremely misleading. Undue paperwork burden: As a member of Solidarity, I spent countless hours and organized mountains of paperwork in order to keep things straight. Without precise and excellent organization skills, members will be lost and end up paying more than they thought. The time it takes to organize and understand their process, and the length of time (years) it takes them to process the initial bills and then the remaining bills (ie: "balance bills") is completely unacceptable for the average person. Ineffective customer service: While the customer service over the phone is extremely nice, they are completely ineffective. They never know when the bills will process, & they cannot expedite anything.Review fromSandra S

I do NOT recommend using Solidarity Healthshare.People should know that it takes Solidarity over 6 months to pay medical bills. We have had doctors refuse service to us because of this super slow pay. This was supposedly a short term issue, but it's been this way for years.I asked customer service when bills will be paid. they said:"Please be advised that the bill processing time frame begins on the date the bill is received into the system, and we are currently advising approximately 120 business days (not including weekends or holidays) for processing."This should not be acceptable for a "Christian" business.Solidarity Healthshare

Our Sharing Guidelines determine what medical expenses are shared among the members of Solidarity HealthShare. Unfortunately, we do not have exact timeframes for the availability of matching sharing funds from other Sharing Members. Once completed, an Explanation of Sharing (EOS) will be provided. *** is not insurance and there are no EOBs or deductibles or benefits. Solidaritys Members have supported each other by sharing tens of millions of dollars in health care expenses each year.
ALL (44) NEEDS ON YOUR MEMBERSHIP HAVE PROCESSED ON AVERAGE LESS THAN 35 BUSINESS DAYS!(3) NEEDS OR (7%) PROCESSED OVER 120 BUSINESS DAYS AND (41) NEEDS OR (93%) PROCESSED UNDER 120 BUSINESS DAYS
Our Sharing Guidelines determine what medical expenses are shared among the members of Solidarity HealthShare. Medical expenses that conflict with Catholic moral teachings is not shared, protecting the consciences of all members and this includes needs submitted incomplete or from P. 16, reads, Timely Submission of Needs. Needs do not qualify for Sharing unless the Sharing Member submits a request for Sharing and documentation of Eligible Medical Expenses within ninety (90) days of receipt of the ****************** or the date of discharge, as applicable. Failure to submit the request for Sharing within 90 days will not invalidate or reduce Shareable amount if submission within 90 days was not reasonably possible, so long as the request for Sharing is submitted within one (1) year. 1 starI have been a member for 4 years and paid over $20k in member payments. For years I had no claims, but when I finally did have a surgery that I got per-approved it was claimed invalid so I had to provide more information, after much work they finally said it would be covered, at a low amount, that was 2 years ago and still not paid. I finally had to pay myself of threat of going to collections. They rejected my receipt that I paid and require more information. I have had an emergency room visit this past year and they are not covering this either and requiring more information even after everything was sent in.They have not paid a dime of my bills, and do not even show me meeting my deductible that I have paid personally. When you cancel their service they still require to pay an extra month.I am a practicing Catholic and it hurts me that this "catholic" organization is treating it members like this.Review fromDawn R

2 starsSolidarity does not pay the medical bills that members submit themselves and some of the medical bills providers send them. I have providers that have been waiting 2 yrs for payment. I should have gotten reimbursed for more than $2,500 in smaller medical bills I paid out of pocket and was never reimbursed for by Solidarity. They do answer the phone consistently and are always cordial and appear to want to asssit, however, they consistently report the bills are "in process" but they have to pay members in the order they received the bills; I have been waiting for 2 yrs. I am very disappointed as I believe in the mission and concept. I cannot recommend this ****Review fromEllinore Z

1 starI wish I had never heard of Solidarity Healthshare! We've been waiting for bills to be paid since May 1, 2021. We've had several bills go to collections. Now, if we stop our membership, we'll have no hope of any of the bills that have been "processing" for over TWO YEARS to be paid. If I had it to do over, I would have NEVER joined. I beg of you, PLEASE don't become a member of Solidarity Healthshare! There are other reputable healthshare ministries out there - choose another one! It's ironic, we signed up for Solidarity because of their moral standards. There are long paragraphs stating all of the moral obligations its members must meet. But NO promises from Solidarity toward its members!! Apparently, they are not accountable morally when they don't pay member's bills. There should be some accountability for health shares. It's immoral to advertise that they will pay medical bills if you pay your share, and then not pay bills for over two years. Today, a Solidarity representative told me that being Catholic has NOTHING to do with them sharing medical bills. That's funny, because, I'm sure we were supposed to have SHARED values as Catholics!Review fromPaula B

1 starUnfortunately there is no option for no star at all.For the past 3-4 years we have paid the monthly fee ($580) for coverage. In the first year Solidarity Healthshare was pretty good.In the past two years or so, they haven't paid a single bill. When contacted by phone, they tell you all the things that sound like eventually they are going to pay your bills, but then it never happens. I had medical bills that were over 1 year old which landed me in collection, so I had to pay them myself.Even annual exams which are supposed to be covered at 100% go unpaid. I could have put that monthly dollar amount into a savings account and paid my bills with it rather than give my money to a company that isn't doing what it says it does.Think twice before choosing this "Christian" health sharing company.Review fromJames M

I have had this plan since 2017. In the beginning it was wonderful. Now I have outstanding debts and bills from Jan. 2021 for non payment and all Solidarity tells me and my providers is "its in the final stages for payment. We had a backlog and went with a new processing company." I have all the paper work and have talked to several people who tell me things will be processed soon only to be sent debt collection letters. I am beyond frustrated and disappointed with the lack of transparency, truthfulness or integrity from this company. I feel sucker punched and was told that if I cancel my plan, I won't be eligible for past bills to be paid bc their terms state if you aren't an active member, you don't get sharing. I paid monthly since 2017 and now they are saying 2021- present day claims won't be paid. I would like to take legal action if a class action law suit is available. This is fraud!! DO NOT put your family and providers through this plan.Solidarity Healthshare
