By federal law, a consumers personal credit report must list all organizations that have requested their credit history. In accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), entities who have certified to Experian that they have a permissible purpose may inquire about credit information. For example, organizations that have granted credit or with whom Ms. ******* has applied for credit, or entities collecting on transactions that were initiated, or, on judgments rendered against a consumer, are permitted to make inquiries on their credit report. Requests for consumers credit history remain on their personal credit report for at least two years.

Dear Jasmine ****,
I am providing written confirmation that I, ******* ******, authorized the submission of the complaint against Experian and am formally requesting assistance from the Better Business Bureau in resolving the matter.
Description of my concerns and prior interaction with Experian:
Over the course of several years (********), I have filed numerous disputes with Experian regarding multiple inaccuracies on my credit report. Despite supplying substantial documentationincluding **** tracking, medical records, employer statements, and delivery confirmationsExperian has consistently ruled in favor of the data furnishers. In each case, the furnishers failed to provide any substantiating documentation. This behavior violates the Fair Credit Reporting Acts (FCRA) requirement that disputed items be investigated with due diligence and removed or corrected if not verified.
The issues include:
A charge-off from C&F *********** tied to a vehicle that was never legally transferred due to dealer fraud.
Affirm accounts linked to merchandise delivered to an address in *******, not my state of residence.
A Concentra/Commercial Acceptance collection related to a work injury, improperly billed despite being covered under a federal labor claim.
Rejected device returns from ******* Wireless, despite no service usage.
Inaccurate late payment notations during a COVID-related hardship period for Credit One and Capital One.
Experian has demonstrated a pattern of accepting unverifiable information from data furnishers while disregarding my valid proof. This has caused sustained damage to my credit standing, financial opportunities, and peace of mind.
I respectfully request that the BBB proceed with the complaint investigation and ensure that Experian provides a transparent, evidence-based response, including a reevaluation of the disputed items.
Sincerely,
******* ******Business Response

Im filing this complaint because Experian continues to report inaccurate and unauthorized addresses on my credit report, despite multiple attempts to get them corrected.I have only one address, and it matches my government-issued ID. Ive uploaded valid proof including utility bills directly through Experians online dispute portal several times, yet the incorrect addresses remain. In fact, Experian has continued adding new inaccurate addresses to my file instead of removing the existing ones.Ive called Experian five times trying to resolve this. Only once was I able to reach an actual representative. That person told me to contact the creditors but both ********** and Equifax already show the correct address, so theres no reason why Experian shouldn't be able to do the same.Experian has been unhelpful, secretive, and unable to explain where the wrong information is coming from. Ive even placed fraud alerts across all three bureaus to protect myself and get to the bottom of this, but Experian still hasnt resolved the ******** this point, *** also filed a formal complaint with the ************************************ (CFPB) because I believe Experian is failing to comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).Customer Answer
Date: 06/27/2025
This complaint is specifically about the removal of inaccurate addresses from my Experian credit report not about my credit accounts or score.
********************** continues to list unauthorized and incorrect addresses on my file, despite my efforts to have them removed. I have only one current address, which matches my government-issued ID, and Ive submitted proof of this address multiple times using Experians online portal including recent utility bills and valid documentation.
Despite that, Experian has not only failed to remove the false addresses, but has actually added new ones that I have no connection to.
Ive contacted Experian by phone on five occasions and only once was I able to speak with a representative. That person told me to contact the creditors. However, ********** and Equifax both have the correct address, so the problem clearly lies with Experians internal systems.
I have also placed fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus to protect myself while this issue remains unresolved.Business Response

Better Business Bureau:
I am writing in response to Experians request for clarification regarding the nature of my complaint.
To be clear, my issue is that I have no knowledge of the account in question that Experian has associated with my credit file. I have never opened, authorized, or been made aware of such an account prior to reviewing my credit report. Therefore, I am disputing its legitimacy and its association with my identity.
I have already provided valid identification and proof of address in good faith, and I now request that Experian provide me with specific documentation or verifiable proof that supports their determination that this account rightfully belongs to me. This includes, but is not limited to, the original application, account activity, and any identifying information used to open the account.
As a consumer, I have the right to understand how Experian concluded this account is mine and to expect that any information reported on my credit file is accurate, verifiable, and not the result of fraud, error, or identity theft.
I respectfully request that Experian either provide the required documentation or remove the disputed account from my ********************** report immediately, in compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
Sincerely,

I would like to file a complaint against this agency for reporting information on my consumer records despite repeatedly being told these accounts are fraudulent and receiving all the necessary documentation. It is obvious this company does not conduct the required investigation and I am seeking advice through my legalshield. In the meantime, I am told this is the proper channel that I need to show that I in good faith attempt to rectify the situation. I will be seeking financial compensation for the stress this has caused. I have spent well over 50 hours of my personal time attempting to rectify this issue and well and financial resources.Customer Answer
