By federal law, a consumers personal credit report must list all organizations that have requested their credit history. In accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), entities who have certified to Experian that they have a permissible purpose may inquire about credit information. For example,organizations that have granted credit or with whom Mr. ********* has applied for credit, or entities collecting on transactions that were initiated, or, on judgments rendered against a consumer, are permitted to make inquiries on their credit report. Requests for consumers credit history remain on their personal credit report for at least two years.
