I am filing this complaint because Experian continues to report a collection account for **************** despite the fact that it is unverified.I submitted a formal debt validation request to the collector, ***********************, and they failed to respond. This is my written confirmation that I authorized the submission of the complaint against Experian Consumer Services, and I am requesting the BBBs assistance in resolving this issue.
Description of My Concern:
I initially disputed the ******* Wireless account directly with ********************** after noticing it on my credit report. Experian responded that the account had been verified as accurate by the furnisher.
However, shortly after filing that dispute, I received a collection notice from ***********************, claiming to collect on the same account. This indicates the bureau may have reported the account without any actual validation from the debt collector at the time of my dispute raising serious concerns about the integrity of the reinvestigation process.
To date, ****************** has not responded to my certified debt validation request. I have received no documentation, no contract, and no proof of the debt. Despite this, Experian continues to report the account as a derogatory collection, last updated as of May 31, 2025.
This failure to conduct a proper reinvestigation violates my rights under:
- FCRA 1681i failure to reinvestigate
- FCRA 1681s-2(b) failure to ensure accuracy after a dispute

I recently reviewed my credit report and noticed an account that was not reporting accurately, i had a late payments on an account that i was in fact paid on time. The consumer reporting agencies have need to report all information with complete accuracy, this account has not been late on payments. I am concerned about the information that this credit bureau is reporting on my credit report due to the fact that is a result of Identity Theft. Not only has this been affecting my ability to obtain credit but I am not able to find a home to live in due to the information they are reporting and I am almost to the point of being homeless. I have attached the *** identity theft report as well as all the information proving that this is a result of my identity being stolen.
