It looks like I'm not the only one complaining about this. I took advantage of a deal with Experian to see my credit report for just a dollar. I click on the offer and it later charges me $27. So misleading. So "take advantage of unsuspecting customers who are dumb enough to believe what Experian says". Hard to talk to someone when you call. All I want them to do is quit trying to take my money every month!!

The website is not user friendly. Tried setting up an account and website locked up. When I tried to get in again it said user name was taken. I then called the phone number associated with the website only to deal with automated phone system. I was finally able to speak to someone who informed me that the email address I provided and the email address associated with the account did not match. I was then told that I had to wait for a pin number to come by mail but that they would delete the account and I could call back and they would assist with setting up a new account. I finally receive the pin number and I called back and was told that the account had not been deactivated but that they would reset my information after asking me 4 security questions, which I answered. I was then told I would receive an email within 24 hours to complete the account setup, which I never received. I called back and was then told that I needed to mail them a copy of my social security card in order to reset the account, which now leads me to believe that this is the company that my information was stolen from in the first place. Definitely would not recommend using this company.

I put in a dispute with Experian 3 times thus far over the status of 2 accounts showing to be Charge off. Both are accounts that are Canceled Debt with documentation. The first response came back as we have updated you file, now it says Charge off and Written off for said amount. I made another dispute, again submitting documentation showing its Canceled Debt and there can't be an amount on accounts Im no longer responsible for. The 2nd response came back with an email saying I haven't provided any information for this dispute, so account remained as Charge off and Written off. Third time I called and spoke to an actual person. He claimed he sees what Im speaking off and the documents I sent didn't get attached to my dispute. So he puts in the 3rd dispute. Now I got a response back saying they found the account to be accurate but changed something that's not related to my dispute. When I checked my file, absolutely nothing has changed on the file. Not even the states update date. This should be removed at this point. I only wanted the account status to be changed to Canceled Debt. I also don't understand why the guy in the dispute center didn't just change it at that time.

This experian credit reporting agency is the worst. They have the wrong address for disputing information on there website. I spent my funds to send out letters that will never be processed do the this negligence. So now I have to pay more money to send out dispute letters when the information should have been accurate!!!!

I have reason to believe someone is using my social security number to attempt to commit fraud. My complaints with Experian are 1) You cannot speak to a live person and 2) Experian's identify verification process is sorely lacking. I called Experian to confirm the security freeze was still in effect on my credit report and also to set a fraud alert. Through the automated phone system, all Experian asked for was my social security number, my zip code and the numeric portion of my address. If someone already has my social security number, then they certainly have this other information. This means someone who has my social security number could theoretically call Experian and remove the security freeze and/or fraud alert on my account. Compare this to Equifax where I spoke to a live person and they asked for my social security number, my zip code, the numeric portion of my address plus they texted a verification code to my phone before they would help me. EXPERIAN you should know better and do better. DISGRACEFUL! Because it is impossible to speak to a live person at Experian, I had to resort to submitting this negative review. I would have preferred to have a nice conversation with someone at Experian about my concerns.

I have literally tried 3 different numbers to speak to a live operator and all I keep getting is the run around by an automated machine and the one time I did kinda get through it stated their offices are closed. Is there no legitimate phone number where I can speak to a live operator?

I signed up for a premium Experian account in July 2022, and downgraded to a basic account in September 2022, my account states that I am signed up for a 'free' account as of today. However, I have been continually charged the $19.99 every month since I cancelled. I have emailed and called customer service multiple times, and I am unable to connect with the individual who is 'handling' my case. They called me twice during my workday where I am unable to answer the phone directly. I provided documentation that I am still being charged, and I have still had no follow-through from them with getting my money back or to stop charging my account.
