I am not aware that there is a monthly fees of $19.99 when I signed up the account. I reviewed my bank account and they automatically charged me monthly fees of $19.99 which I never used their services before just signed up an account. I realized there are a lot of people have file a complaint about this issue. They charged me 2 transactions, one is $19.99 on 2/4/24 (posted on 2/5/24), and the second one is $2.67 on 2/8/24 (posted on 2/9/24). Im not sure why they charged me the second amount for. Id like to cancel these. I cant log in to my account online. They keep saying incorrect password and incorrect answer for security question to reset password.

I moved from ********** ** to ********* ** 09/2021. I continue to have the home in ********** and have since moved back to the area and am no longer in **., When I moved to LA, I thought I was in the **** website and somehow launched into stamps.com to forward my mail, (**** is a fraction of the cost I have come to find out since being scammed). I filled out my new address and was to be charged per month, which would have been only a one time low dollar expense at ****. I requested them to cancel my service 2 years ago and they did not. My Credit Card through its own cycle expired and I was no longer paying them since they had my expired card. I looked in my junk mail in my email recently and they are continuing to send me a bill and I am up to $300 dollars (see attached) for services I NEVER received nor agreed to pay for.... I want them to clear out this false account and STOP emailing me. I already let them rip me off until the card expired. I have NOT LIVED in ********* IN 2 years!!!! This is crazy. NO other company continues to bill like this... it is harassment. STOP

In October 2022 I created a Stamps.com account to mail a package to a friend. I agreed to the charges for that shipment. I did not sign up for, agree to, or authorize any monthly subscription of any kind. Tonight I noticed a pending charge of $19.99 from Stamps.com. I was surprised because I haven't shipped anything. Then I looked back and discovered that I've been charged monthly! I went into my old Stamps.com account that I created in 2022 and I can't find any way to cancel this account. In addition, my Stamps.com account doesn't show any of the charges that are appearing on my credit card. I found an old email from Stamps.com saying that they were shipping me a scale for $0.00, but I never received the scale. Had I received the scale I might have realized that something was going on. Since Stamps.com doesn't provide a way to cancel their account online, I am disputing their charges and cancelling my credit card. This is a scam! I have certainly learned never to use Stamps.com for any reason in the future because after using them to mail one item, I have been charged a total of $255.87 so far, and received absolutely nothing for it.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********.  I strongly disagree with their assertion that their monthly subscription was clearly stated.  I never saw, nor agreed to, a monthly subscription.  Their website did not provide any way for me to cancel ******************.  Also, their advertising is deceptive. I never would have created an account if I had known they don't actually provide a one-time mailing option. However, I see that the company has refunded the money they charged to my credit card, so this resolution is satisfactory to me.

    Dear *****,
Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate and consider your feedback and take our customers concerns very seriously.  Your confirmation number is: 240207-002421.

Rest assured that your account is closed, as confirmed over the phone and via email.  You have cancelled during our 4-Week Trial, so rest assured that you will not receive any service fees.  We apologize for any misunderstanding regarding our services.  We do not sell rolls or books of stamps, as the service we offer is the ability to print postage.  Stamps.com is a PC Postage Vendor licensed and approved by the ***** We are a separate company from the **** itself.

The $1.00 transaction you are seeing is a temporary hold called an "authorization" or "auth" and will not go through as an actual charge.  It is not a charge -- we were testing your card information to make sure it exists and is billable. This places the funds on a temporary hold while we wait for the credit card company to verify the information on file.  The authorization drops off your credit account within 72 hours for most banks, although for some banks it could take up to 30 days.

Again, we apologize for any misunderstanding.  Prior to registration, we do ensure that our customers see our Terms and Conditions  (which can be found at ********************************************* ) before they create their accounts.  The excerpt regarding the authorization states:

"During account registration, ********************** may verify that your payment card is valid for the service fees associated with your service plan."
If we can help further, please let us know.

Back in September, I bought a label online through the US postal service and it sent me to Stamps.com. They erroneously signed me up for a monthly subscription and hit my credit card for months before I caught it. Then they made me jump through hoops to get rid of them and get my money back. Now after finally receiving an email confirming that this fraudulent account had been cancelled, Stamps.com is back and charging me a monthly subscription fee again. It's clear that I have cancelled but the have my credit card number so they have decided I'm paying anyway!!I shouldn't have to request a new credit card number to get rid of these crooks. I have all my utilities and home services on this card and I don't want to spend days updating my credit card number to rid myself of them. They paid me back over $50 for the months of erroneous charges and now it's there again. Can you please help me stop Stamps.com from fraudulently charging my credit card?

    Dear *******,
Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate and consider your feedback and take our customers concerns very seriously.  We apologize for the experience.  Normally, a customer is responsible for all service fees.  However, rest assured that we issued a courtesy refund of $80.52, as confirmed by our representatives.  Your confirmation number is: 240208-003876.

We apologize for any misunderstanding regarding our fees.   We show that you had closed your account on 12/22/23 per your request.  We show that a final fee occurred for the cycle of December 09, 2023 to December 22, 2023.  As stated in our Terms of Use (www.stamps.com/conditions), to which all customers must agree before creating an account, ********************** always bills in arrears at the end of each cycle, rather than in advance.  We do not bill at the beginning of the cycle.  However, as verified by our representative ******* on 2/3/24, we have refunded an additional $15.00 and therefore we show that you have been refunded in full.  We apologize for the experience.
To best serve our customers, we provide the terms for Stamps.com accounts during the registration process. Stamps.com accounts cannot be created without customers indicating that theyve read the terms and conditions. We believe in full disclosure, which is why we provide our terms ( ******************************************** ) on a single webpage during the registration process.  During registration for a Stamps.com account, we explain that your credit card will not be charged unless you continue past the four-week trial or buy additional postage and Online Store products.
In addition, immediately after sign-up, new customers are sent a Welcome Email with the same terms outlined, along with information about the monthly flat rate fee if you choose to continue past the trial month.
If we can help further, please let us know.

I tried out the services, however, never signed up for anything because I realized the service was not cost efficient. A few weeks later, I received a charge for $19.99 on my credit card. When I called about it, they stated that I was enrolled in a monthly subscription. I never signed up for a monthly subscription. I requested a refund. They said "no". They agreed to cancel my service going forward but they could not refund the fraudulent charge of $19.99. I was told, their "system" just simply would not allow them to do that. I requested to speak with a manager and waited on hold for 30 minutes until I finally hung up. I'm out $19.99 and really frustrated that they got away with this.

I just discovered that Stamps.com converted my one-time Stamp purchase to a monthly membership, charging my credit card a $19.99 monthly fee. I never received emails about these charges. I don't know how long I've been a member. These charges were stated as a sidebar during account creation, easy to miss. Lots of unhappy customers.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.They refunded me for one year out of the three they auto-debited unknown to me. Since I did agree to a hard-to-see agreement (it was off to the side as I filled in my information to make a purchase)  I'll quit while I'm behind. Bad on me for overlooking the credit card debit for three years.
I still think this is a shady business which deserves its poor reviews and complaints. If they were an honest actor, they'd have the monthly membership debits more visible and inform its "members" monthly about the debit.

I created an account around Christmas to mail one thing. I saw an offer for a free starter kit with $5 credit to mail somthing. My shipment came out to under $5. I never shipped anything else. later that month they charged me $*****. I tried to log back into the account I had just created with no luck. It was like the website forgot my account. I finally got back in and in the meantime, they charged me another ***** for the next month. When I was able to get back in, it said that I signed up for a monthly subscription. I was not made aware of the monthly subscription when I initially created the account. I was under the impression that I was getting a complimentary $5 as a welcome gift for signing up and I would pay when I shipped something. During the process of closing the account, I received offers of a reduced price of $ **** to stay. Immediately after I clicked the button to close the account I got an email stating that my bill had been adjusted and ***** would be charged to my card on file at the end of the month. Altamentoly my under $5 shipping job, wound wind up costing me over ten times the original amount

I signed up for a stamps.com account in 2022 in order to send an item to a friend, and accepted what I was told to be a $5 fee at the time (on top of paying for a singular shipping label) after the misleadingly vague wording on the site led me to believe it was the fee for use. Since my sign up date, stamps.com has silently taken an absurd subscription charge every month from my account. I have received no monthly receipt emails regarding my recurring subscription that would have alerted me of the continued payment. I received no notification when, in March 2023, the amount charged was apparently raised. This absolutely egregious failure of basic communication with the customer, alongside the fine-printing and intentional visual hiding of mentions of fees, is disgustingly predatory. The $450+ that has been collectively charged is a huge deal to me as I was significantly injured and have not been able to work. I only discovered these charges after noticing a discrepancy in my very limited income and combing through my bank statements. I have closed my account immediately after discovering this scheme, but the funds lost without my knowledge or consent are my biggest grievance.
