On October 4th of 2021, I purchased with stamps.com to be able to print stamps from home. The purchased amount was $11.54. Now its March 2023 and I have been charged $17.99 every month for the past 17 MONTHS. I NEVER consented to this charge. I was never NOTIFIED of this charge. I had NO COMMUNICATION email or mail confirming or reporting this debit/set-up. Nor did I EVER use or receive any service or good. I complained to Stamps.com in the beginning of February and closed my account with Stamps.com. However, I only received 4 months of credit back. On February 18th 2023, Stamps.com charged my **** $8.99 again. This company setups their business to charge unreasonable and unauthorized fees. I demand to get my money refunded. And PLEASE STOP charging my ****!Best regards,*******************

    Dear *****,
Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate and consider your feedback and take our customers concerns very seriously.  Normally, a customer is responsible for all service fees.  However, rest assured that we have issued a courtesy refund totaling $314.82 on 3/08/23.  We show that your account is closed.
We show that a Stamps.com account was fully activated on 09/02/2021.  We show that a Welcome Email confirming activation had been sent to you on that day.  We hear your concerns and we always aim to fully disclose our fees before any account can be created.  We do not advertise or offer a free or pay-as-you-go service, and as disclosed and explained during registration, we do charge a monthly fee after the 4-Week Trial Period, which ended on your account on 10/01/2021.  We show your account was closed on 2/17/23.
We allow all of our customers to evaluate our features without signing up for an account. We provide extensive FAQs and demos in order to answer any queries that a potential customer may have in regards to the ********************** service and software.  When you visit our website, you have the option of viewing various pages that offer more information and background on our postage printing product.  You do not have to register in order to receive information about Stamps.com.
To create any Stamps.com account, you must complete the multi-step registration process at www.stamps.com.
Registration requires you to enter your name, mailing address, phone number and credit card information, in addition to creating a username and password and selecting two security questions. Also, you must review and agree to our Terms and Conditions:

    www.stamps.com/conditions
To best serve our customers, we provide the terms for Stamps.com accounts during the registration process. Stamps.com accounts cannot be created without customers indicating that theyve read the terms and conditions. During registration for a Stamps.com account, we explain that your credit card will not be charged unless you continue past the four-week trial or buy additional postage and Online Store products.

In addition, immediately after sign-up, new customers are sent a Welcome Email with the same terms outlined, along with information about the monthly flat rate fee if you choose to continue past the trial month.
The fee we charge gives you access to services of the *********** and the license to print official U.S. postage. Its a flat fee that is not determined by how much postage you print.  Stamps.com is a vendor licensed by the ***** and all paid postage goes directly to the ***********. In order to offer our standard service, we do charge a monthly subscription fee.

We never charge people without their full agreement and awareness during our online registration process.  Our service fee is not based on usage or activity.  The monthly subscription service fee that Stamps.com charges is for access of the Stamps.com software, which allows customers to print postage from the comfort of their home or small office using just a PC and a printer.  Our service is a monthly subscription service so its not based on usage of the software, but rather on having access to using it.
We believe in full disclosure, and information about our fees is available on our website, interface, Terms, and FAQs.
During registration for a Stamps.com account, we explain that your credit card will not be charged unless you continue past the four-week trial or buy additional postage and Online Store products.  We believe the monthly fee provides a good value for customers who need to print not only just Priority and Priority Express Mail shipping labels, but also Shipping Labels for other classes (we support ****************** Mail, and Parcel Select Labels), NetStamps, and postage printed directly on envelopes.  We do have a wide variety of customers over a million customers- who enjoy the experience of not having to rely on expensive postage meters and who require more functionality and features than what other PC ******* services currently offer.

On our main page at www.stamps.com, we explain our fees under the section "Here's how it works..."  During the registration process we do make sure that our customers are aware of the monthly service fee in that we have it detailed on the webpage titled Why do you need my credit card information?

We do this so that customers can see the price before they complete the registration process. We also have the billing policy detailed in our Terms and Conditions at:

    www.stamps.com/conditions

Customers are required to review and agree to these Terms prior to completing registration.
In addition, potential customers can review and compare our pricing plans, as well as other important information, to determine which plan best meets their mailing needs via the Learn More section which is accessible from the Stamps.com home page.  We offer FAQs that answer questions about pricing, plans, and specific and general benefits of using Stamps.com:

I have used Stamps.com for years without any major problems. In the last couple of months I have received mailed letters back. While being marked by the post office as going through their distribution centers they have no yellow label stating a reason for the return information as to why returned. They are good addresses. **** states that the bar coding may be the issue but cant reach Stamps.com to get an answer to see if bar code can be removed. Not only is my mail not being delivered but it is costing me for each return letter. Stamps.com NEVER refunds. And they make you mail in the request for refund!

I am rejecting this response because: it doesn't address the issue. I wasn't asking for a refund. (Though their refund process is ridiculous and nonresppnsive as well) I am asking that they fix the issue of the bar coding as it appears tonhave several inaccuracies. I will reach out AGAIN through their contact email but have never recieved any action when did so originally.

Hi,I was a stamps.com member from Feb 2020, when I signed up there was not a trial period or a monthly charge. This past month, I recieved notice stamps.com was raising monthly free to $19.99 per month so I went to cancel. I also checked my payment history and learned that they had been charging me $17.99 per month on top of postage fees for 11 months starting March 2022. There was no notice in my email for the conversion of my free account to a paid account or a trial conversion since I was not on a trial. This is unacceptable practice and I would like a refund for the monthly fee. My postage charges can of course remain.*************************

I never signed up nor agreed to pay for this service. I clicked on it by accident, tricked into thinking it was ***** My fault. I was supposedly given postage and a postage scale not true. They are NOT ***** I got charged last month called cancelled. And then they called and harassed me. I spoke to PayPal to try and make sure no (of any kind) automatic payments are allowed and made sure my refund was received. A month later, I get the same charge. Its pending, but Im not allowed to dispute this kind of charge?? Its Friday night and no one is open. But Im out of this money at least until Monday, most likely a week. Im sure youre thinking $17.99 isnt that big of deal but when its all you have and someone was allowed to steal it its a big deal.

    Dear ***,
Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate and consider your feedback and take our customers concerns very seriously.  Normally, a customer is responsible for all service fees.  However, rest assured that we have issued a courtesy refund of $35.98 for Account **********.  We show that your accounts are closed.   Your confirmation number is: 230310-004824.

We show that you signed up for two accounts with us.  On account **********, there was a final fee charge for the cycle of February 04, 2023 to March 04, 2023, which we have refunded.   Stamps.com always bills in arrears at the end of each cycle, rather than in advance.  We do not bill at the beginning of the cycle.

We show that a Stamps.com account ********** was fully activated and established on 1/3/23.  We show that a Welcome Email confirming activation had been sent to you on that day.  We hear your concerns and we always aim to fully disclose our fees before any account can be created.  We do not advertise or offer a free or pay-as-you-go service, and as disclosed and explained during registration, we do charge a monthly fee after the 4-Week Trial Period, which ended on your account on 2/1/23.  We show that you cancelled on 2/6/23.  We show that Account  ********** was opened on 1/20/23.

To create any Stamps.com account, you must complete the multi-step registration process at www.stamps.com.

This company has charged me a recurring fee of $17.99 for at least a year for something I did not knowingly sign up for. They offered a free scale to try their site so I tried to use the site to print a label. I never received an email showing me a receipt. Any "agreement" to their service is buried in a 5 page email that is pure legal jargon. Someone should file a class action and look into their practices. After "signing up" you strangely don't get any emails from them. I have many subscriptions with recurring charges and NONE work this way.

This Stamps.com company has been charging my card for over a year with a subscription I never signed up for, without sending any emails to approve payment or billing statements. I did not sign up for this service, they are illegally charging cards without sending any information. I cancelled my "account" today and called to request a refund and the person forwarded me billing statements that they never sent, they have my account associated with an address I do not live at and have do not send emails, yet charge a monthly fee. They are stealing money, I want a refund. I have just shut off my card and requested a new one so they do not have the chance to steal anymore from me.

I am rejecting this response because:

Despite the cancelation I personally entered and the refund I requested, they charged me an additional $9.59 on March 3rd. They never sent any emails regarding payment confirmations over the more than a year they were charging my card, and did not list in the welcome email that they would be charging me $17.99 a month, let alone disclose they would be charging at all. They are a company based in a scam and I do not accept this response, as they charged me an additional $10 after I my complaint was made, account was closed, and refund was requested. Once that is resolved I may accept it.

Its a flat fee that is not determined by how much postage you print.  Stamps.com is a vendor licensed by the ***** and all paid postage goes directly to the ***********. In order to offer our standard service, we do charge a monthly subscription fee.

While the **** offers a free online service called ************* Stamps.coms fees pay for features not offered on-line by the ****.  These include the ability to print shipping labels for mail classes other than Priority or Priority Express Mail, such as First Class Mail and Parcel Select (which will save you money), the ability to keep track of everything you send via our detailed reporting features, the Hidden ******* feature, discounted package insurance, integration with major software titles including Outlook and QuickBooks, the ability to import orders from online stores like **** and Amazon.com, Mail merge, and batch printing.
Stamps.com has many features not offered online by ******************* You can print a First Class stamp directly to an envelope as soon as the software is downloaded and you can print shipping labels for all mail classes. Plus, with ************ now offering retail rates on all shipping you will be able to save up to 51% off Priority Mail, up to 10% off Priority Express Mail and up to 26% discount when sending First Class parcels.  In addition, ****s ************ service stopped offering the discounted Commercial Base rates as of 1/17/16.  ************************ moved to retail pricing.  Stamps.com still offers discounted Commercial Base rates.

I'm filing a complaint related to other that in seeing in relation to misleading or lacking information. When signing up with stamps.com, i was given no clear indication of a monthly fee that would be charged to the card that I put on file for the purchase of a single transaction. No follow up emails were given, indicating that after the initial 4 weeks, i would then be charged a monthly fee. I have not used stamps.com since my initial use and have been charged a total of $144 from 08/03/22 to today. I wish to be fully reimbursed as this issue has been a common thread for many using their services without a change in the way the company makes the fees clear to anyone putting their credit card information on their website. I also want to have my account canceled.

    Dear *****,
Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate and consider your feedback and take our customers concerns very seriously.  Normally, a customer is responsible for all service fees.  However, rest assured that we have issued a courtesy refund of $143.92 on 3/9/23 to your credit card.  We show that your account is closed.   Your confirmation number is: 230309-006737.

We show that a Stamps.com account was fully activated and established on 7/1/22.  We show that a Welcome Email confirming activation had been sent to you on that day.  We hear your concerns and we always aim to fully disclose our fees before any account can be created.  We do not advertise or offer a free or pay-as-you-go service, and as disclosed and explained during registration, we do charge a monthly fee after the 4-Week Trial Period, which ended on your account on 7/30/22.  We do not show a prior cancellation request.
