1 starBought a hyundia elantra gt because as a kid we had one and it was a good reliable car. I am a college student... I owned the car for 5 months when I found out the car has a piston slap in the engine. ******* won't fix it under the warranty because it's 5000 miles over the ******* mile warranty. So now I am stuck with a car that I have a loan on that I can't replace and can't drive. ******* also asked for testing that I had to pay for that is additional and unnecessary. My only option was to settle with my bank and then take it to a junk yard. Such a terrible car and terrible thing to put a college student through. I can't say I would want to buy hyundia ever again.Review fromRebecca H

1 starI have a 2021 Hyundai Tucson-I purchased it in March of 2024 with approx 4000 miles on it. It has been burning off oil/having issues with excessive oil consumption over the last couple months and have been having to constantly add oil (my car now has approx ****** miles). While waiting to get it into the dealership, my engine failed (while I was driving on the highway). Hyundai is denying my claim for a new engine because I cannot produce receipts proving that I have been getting regular oil changes (My boyfriend or father usually change the oil for me to save on money). When I talked to customer service, they told me that its a final decision and not an appealable case. The dealership is quoting me $10,000 to fix and replace my engine. None of my dash warning lights ever came on EVER even when I had little to no oil left in my car. Hyundai sold a terrible lemon DANGEROUS product and now won't even correct their mistakes. I wish I could put zero stars.Review fromLeslie G

2 starsMy husband and I have been loyal Hyundai owners since 2007. We've purchased 6 Hyundai's over the years. Hyundai just lost us as customers because they refused to accommodate us on a title addendum. We needed to add our college student to the title of one of our vehicles so we could insure him with the vehicle out of State from where we live. Hyundai told us we needed to refinance the car where we would lose the extended warranty or the person on the title had to die! We talked to several financial institutions and they informed us there's is no issue in doing addendums to titles as they are done all the time. We feel Hyundai is doing this just so they can get out of the extended warranty on the car. This is so egregious. They no longer deserve our loyalty. 18 years of loyalty and they treat us this way is intolerable. Loyalty not returned. Bye bye Hyundai!Review fromAdriane T

1 star***** doing business with dishonest entities, as evidenced by my experience with Hyundai service. Since April 28, 2022, I have documented interactions with the corporate office, Tuscaloosa Hyundai, and Tameron Hyundai. Despite being in the *************, I have faced unacceptable customer service and deceit from service departments in ********** and **********. Gasoline leaked after a recall, prompting a tow, yet Hyundai Tuscaloosa disregarded the safety concern, assuring me, 'You have a million-mile warranty; don't worry.' However, the list of lies is extensive. Corporate instructed me to conduct an oil consumption test, which Tameron Hyundai claimed takes three days, finding no issues. They recommended a costly catalytic converter replacement and refused my insurance, steering me toward an exploitative loan. Learning about the Hyundai lawsuit revealed my vehicle's alignment with reported issues, raising questions about their hostile behavior despite losing the lawsuit. I was instructed to repeat the oil consumption test. I've every receipt for oil top-offs to sustain the engine. The engine eats oil. Plain and simple. Rain, sleet, snow, hear I have to keep checking the oil. It is humiliating to go through this.Review fromMichael V

1 starNEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE A HYUNDAI!!!!!! My first Hyundai was a 2012 ****** that ended up with engine failure at a little over 100k miles. Lucky for me it was a part of a major engine recall and was fixed for free. It did take several months but eventually the work was completed. I decided to stay with Hyundai and upgraded to a 2018 Santa Fe Sport Ultimate 2.0, which turned out to be THE WORST PURCHASE OF MY LIFE!!!! At 109k miles the engine died at night while driving down the highway. I have taken care of this vehicle for the 3 years i have owned it and yet it suffered the same fate as many other Hyundai's. So now with 2 years and $11k left on my loan I am now the proud owner of a giant Hyundai piece of GARBAGE. I was advised that since i was the 2nd owner my warranty ended at ***. I opened a case with Hyundai and they wasted a week of my life. After all their "research" they came back and said we could have covered it if it died for a this reason but it didn't, it died for a different reason. THANKS FOR THAT HYUNDAI. Then an application for submitted to Hyundai goodwill to see if they would cover it, result, DENIED. Then to top it off, the dealership wouldn't release the the vehicle to me until i paid them their diagnostic fee and an oil change fee, you heard that correctly, an oil change on a vehicle with an engine that doesn't run. So to sum it all up, i am now stuck with a dead vehicle that i still owe $11 k on and Hyundai wont fix it unless i pay them over $7k. Thanks for absolutely nothing and proving to the consumers that your bottom line is the only thing that really matters.Review fromAlexander R

1 starMy apologies to my bank *********** for giving money for a vehicle to company that do not deserve. They customer service and the third party for service is damaging to others. Also I like to apologize to my credit report because it was non deserving on what happen. Also I apologize to my kids on being a father trusting a company with low rating throughout the industry of manufacturing vehicles. Hyundai you don't deserve a 1 star. You deserve negatives. For you I am out of vehicle which my family truly depended on. I save $5000 for vehicle for a reliable vehicle and you played me. *********** should blacklist you. People and trustworthy businesses are losing money. I will say this. You recalled my vehicle for theft device and engine replace. After that the whole car shook. It took over 3 weeks to get back. Your 3rd party didn't have a loaner to accommodate me. Your 3rd was rude because they customer service matches your energy. Got the vehicle back going about 60 miles hour and the car losses power while me and my kids were in it with no brake power you mfs. The dealership didn't want to *********** didn't want to pay off my vehicle to take care the loan. We never got into that car again. Me and *********** took a hit. *********** thanks for generosity and your friendship. You were always paid early.. Now have unneeded debt because they want own up to they mistakes. Hyundai need to make this right. They need pass a law that gives vehicle company a credit rating. They vehicles are overpriced and not a demand and beginning to be not trusting way to go in everyday life. Maybe go ***** you rarely hear about them smhReview fromRita P

1 starI will NEVER lease another Hyundai EVER again! When I had my last lease with *** they had paid my tolls fee and I paid them. Now I'm dealing with Hyundai and when I received a bill for a toll I called Hyundai and asked if they would be paying the bill and I pay them back. Twice I was given the wrong information. I ended up having to pay $50 in late fees for that $11 toll because Hyundai gave me wrong information twice. I called them asking for the $50 back from them and was told there was nothing they can do. Never again will I deal with Hyundai.Review fromCindy D

1 starIf there were a negative 100, that's how I would rate Hyundai USA. I took my car into a dealer. A battery in my 2022 hyundai had died. It was covered under *********** took 8 weeks for the needed part to come in, during which time no one had any knowledge.. There doesn't seem to be a tracking system of any kind.I initially had Hyundai agree to pay for my rental car, as per the warranty. The first case manager I had was helpful. I sent my rental car receipts in ever two weeks and she had me reimbursed for the first month. The trouble began when I asked her if they could expedite my case, It was beyond my belief that it could take so long for one car part. It is here in the *************** that I got a horrid, horrible, rigid case manager named JALAIA.She insisted she could not send any rental car reimbursements until she 'evaluated' the case starting from the beginning. A month later I got my car back. I called her to tell her there was nothing to expedite any longer, and could she catch up on my rental car reimbursements? For reasons unknown to me, JALAIA totally refused and insisted she had to complete her evaluation. Evaluation of what I asked? The repair was completed. I never got a satisfactory answer. I asked to speak with her supervisor which she refused to facilitate.Since then, I have called customer service almost every day. Depending upon who I talk to, I get conflicting information, some completely false. Bottom line, after requesting several times to be connected with a supervisor in that department, that has never happened.Hyundai owes me 4-5 weeks of rental car reimbursement, totaling well over $1000. I plan to take hyundai to small claims court.... but truthfully, I doubt I'll ever see my money.Because of all this, I will never buy another Hyundai. It's amazing that this is even allowed in this day and age.Review fromJessica T

1 starI purchased a 2019 Hyundai Santa February 2022. The vehicle was great! Spacious, good gas mileage and reliable. The vehicle was maintenance regularly with Hyundai with great service providers, No complaints. A little over ******* miles in May 2024, the engine light began to randomly flash. I was told during service in May 2024 that this was normal. This happens when the oil is low per the service provider. June to July of 2024 the vehicle began to lack proper acceleration and the dash would black out randomly when pressing brake then gas to accelerate. I was told July 2024 that these issues were due to a battery. I replaced the battery in Aug. 2024. The problem continued. Within the same month of Aug. 2024 I was told that the engine was bad, a knock sensor was needed and now a turbo charger is needed. Per Hyundai, the engine was ruled out passing a clearance test and the knock sensor was replaced but a turbo charger is needed. My vehicle sat at Hyundai from Aug. 26th to October 8th as we all tried to figure out the next steps. The vehicle was rear ended June 2024 prior to the turbocharger issue but no one has determined the accident as a cause for the damage. I cannot get answers from anyone. October 7, **************************************************************************************************************** when it would be repaired. I picked the vehicle up on October 8, 2024. Mysteriously the engine light is not on and the vehicle seems to be driving ok. I was told by the service assistant manager to drive the vehicle is comfort mode until I can have it repaired. I do not feel safe and this has been the worst experience. I'm not sure what to do at the point. The service manager says he will reach out to my car insurance provider to verify if the rear end, motor vehicle accident impact could be a cause to damage. I still owe on the vehicle so I cannot trade. I am lost and would like relief from Hyundai.
