1 starHello My name is ***** ****** I recently resigned up my membership Today and I signed up for the more expensive membership thinking I could get guest pass to let my son and wife try it out to add them to my plan that was my plan so I sent them 7 days passes and I went with them to the gym on OBT ************ Location today around 6pm on Friday and the 2 girls at the desk wouldnt let them in with me! Saying my plan doesnt allow me to bring guests it use to when I had it before I said and they said no its not allowed on my plan I said how much is it to add it they said they didnt know because I signed up online I told them that I get emails all the time that said with the membership you can bring a guest!Very disappointed that this is how you treat a returning member that was going to add my son and wife . I asked for the manager they said that there was not one on Duty! What happened to customer service? My son got a free summer membership for Planet Fitness! And you wont even let me bring a guests so I told the girl to cancel my membership asap very disappointed and I will be leaving negative reviews all over if they are not held accountable and if I dont get an apology very rude girls! They should be written up asap! They didnt have name tags so I have no idea what there names are but you lost me as a customer forever and I will tell all my friends and family members about LA FitnessReview fromIvan V

1 starThe gym itself is fine but beware of signing up for a personal trainer. I signed a 6 month contract but have continued to be charged for two more months. Turns out, it is up to me to opt-out of continued charges, even though I signed up for only 6 months. They do not let you know when your contract term is up and just keep charging you regardless. Very sleazy policy.Review fromAkram E.

1 starMy wife and I joined Club Studio Edgewater in January 2024 based on a clear promise that the gym would open by February or March at the latest. That timeline kept slipping first to April, then May and it finally opened on May 16, over four months late. Despite the delay, we were charged the entire time without access to any services. No goodwill credit, no apology just months of broken *********** wife visited the gym for the first time on May 17 or 18. Since we travel every summer, she asked the manager, *****, to freeze both memberships from July 1 to September 1. He said it would cost $50 per person, per month, totaling $200, even though we had already paid $700+ for months the club wasnt even open. She reasonably asked for the fees to be waived due to the delays and the fact wed also lose half of July since billing restarts mid-month. ***** rudely dismissed her, repeating policy is policy. When she asked to speak to someone above him, he claimed he was the top authority. When she asked to cancel both memberships, he did so instantly no apology, no effort to resolve the issue, just cold indifference.I contacted Club Studio corporate and spoke to Gatsby, who promised a response within 4872 hours. No one ever called. When I followed up, I was told a refund wasnt possible and was instead encouraged to reconsider joining. That kind of response shows how little they value customers. On top of that, they enforce a punitive class policy: if you're even one minute late, you're locked out and fined $1015. Gyms should be places to de-stress, not punish people. This isnt a premium experience its a polished brand built on poor service, rigid policies, and zero accountability. Were out and others should be wary.Review fromJoni M

1 starI joined LA Fitness in **** AZ on Signal Butte Rd and signed up for the personal training sessions. I didn't use my membership or the training sessions over the holidays due to my busy schedule. I went after the holidays in early March to cancel my membership and training since I haven't used it over the holidays. **** told me that I've already paid for 14 training sessions so he suggested I keep my membership open until I use the 14 sessions. So, I went to the gym March, ***** to use up my 14 sessions so I could be done with my membership. Little did I know they were charging me for the training sessions month to month even after I asked to cancel in March but was advised to just use my 14 sessions and be done. I called **** at least 3 times to inquire about getting a refund for March and ***** to no avail because I couldn't get a call back. I finally walked into the fitness center early May and cancelled my membership and training with the Operations Manager and she said she would have **** call me about reimbursement for the March and ***** training sessions at ****** ea! I received no call back so I called the corporate office and talked to **** who basically told me it's my responsibility to cancel the membership and since I kept using the sessions in March and ***** they kept charging me. I explained that I got bad advise to keep my membership until I use up my 14 sessions SO I was being responsible to try and cancel in March but was advised not to. LA Fitness takes NO responsibility of what their employees advise people and all the blame is put on the customer. All I am asking is to be reimbursed my March and ***** charges since I was given bad advise in March when I tried to cancel at that time. Now I have accumulated 22 sessions and I told them to forget it and that I will NEVER set foot in that fitness center again! So I paid for training sessions that I will not use due to the BAD customer service I have received. I advise others to NOT deal with ********Review fromCrystal B

1 starI joined LA Fitness in 2010. I received a text message on 5/26/25 requesting that I needed to update my account. My monthly dues are on the 26th of every month . I logged into my account and updated my payment information. I was charged *****. I called the *********** location and was told that the additional fee was a late charge even though it was paid on the 26th. While speaking with them I was called a B**** by an unknown person in the background. This is totally unacceptable. I was told to come into the club which seems ridiculous considering they had my account in front of them stating what the monthly fee is along with the due date and the updated information. Being a holiday Monday I will be contacting the corporate office and lodging a formal complaint.Review fromKaren Y

2 starsI take a yoga class on Wednesday mornings at the *********, **************. The last two Wednesdays there has been no parking availability, and I had to turn around and go home. I sent a message through the LA Fitness contact portal a week ago asking if LA Fitness was in negotiations with ****** Furniture about using their parking lot, as our class was told a couple of months ago.Yesterday was a week since I had contacted LA Fitness, and I still had not gotten a response. So I made a phone call to the gym and was told there was no agreement with ****** Furniture, and the woman suggested that I park on the street or come at a different time. I reiterated to her that there is no parking on the street, and the yoga class is on Wednesday morning. So I cannot come a different time. Also the visibility mirror on the top level of the parking structure has been missing for about 3 months now. She said it was on the list of maintenance issues and the part had been ordered. All I kept hearing were the words "unfortunately" and "not at this time." It was just one excuse after another. A visibility mirror can be bought online. I checked. This is a safety hazard. The parking may be more difficult, but it sounded like no efforts were being made whatsoever to rectify the situation. The woman I spoke with did tell me that there was currently a management change and maybe perhaps hopefully the new management might do something. I asked her if the new management did come up with a solution how I would find out about that since there's no way for me to get in the gym because I cannot park my car. She said they would probably just put up flyers inside the gym or announce it on the PA, but they were not going to notify people by email. I have a gym membership that I cannot use. The next closest gym to my house is more than twice as far as the Hawthorne gym. I have been a member since 1986, and I expect better. Please let me know when and how these two situations have been resolved.
