We are lease customers to Sunpower solar. Our system has been non-productive since June 2024. Several chats, emails and phone calls have been made. We are told to sit tight due to the bankruptcy filing until a new service provider can be obtained. We have no communication with the company unless we make a call and we are told the same thing payment is due n sit tight until they can get a contractor service agreement. We stopped paying as of September we aren’t sitting tight to wait n pay for something broken and pay our electricity bill . We can not afford that

      Hi,
I bought a house from foreclosure July this year. I took the lease agreement from the previous owner for the solar panel. I bought it on July1st 2024 and I have been paying the SunPower account for about half of the year. Now I am trying to sell the house, and they said they can't find my account information. I know they went bankruptcy, but they shouldn't lost my information. I am in escrow now, and the escrow company asks them to transfer the account to the new buyer. This company is saying that I don't have an account with them. I want to see who I paid for for the half year. I just need someone that can help us to transfer the account to the new buyer.

I have bought my house at the current address in 2021 and took over the lease from the pervious owner from SunPower solar panel services. It was defected since day 1 and we called and they send out few tech to fix the broken panel but can't show any record how much power they were providing to my house. I took their words for it at that time but over the years my electricity bill was way above my neighbors with a bigger pool and no solar panels and we don't even use AC. I called SunPower on July 22, 2024 and provided all the pictures from my solar display, the agent confirm it wasn't working and will create a case to credit some refunds to me and send out a tech to resolve the issue. No tech was ever sent and no follow ups, I have called and emailed multiple times to mid of September only to get delayed and no response. (I have all the emails record on file and case #********) They did send a bankruptcy notice letter in September and customer service was shut down after. They are not providing any services but still charging me, I don't think that's the contract agreement. I can't reach anyone on their end so I have turned to BBB for help to see I can stop them charging me, either refund me the money, discontinue the contract or fix my solar system to the point it provide efficient power to me. Please contact me if you need any supporting documents. Cell ************, Email **********************

We are in a 20-year lease agreement with SunPower for our home's solar panels. We have been in this agreement for close to 10-years and our panels are not producing solar. Starting in May 2024 our panels have steadily lost production month over month to producing -3 in the prime of summer. SunPower consistently takes my solar lease payment, but yet because of bankruptcy we have no ability to contact a human being to file a complaint to get this fixed. The only option is to submit an email to an address with no response or indication that it has been received or what happens next. I want SunPower to fix my solar panel/inverter issue and refund the huge overage this has cost my family. I know were not the only ones going through this, just read BBB about how awful SunPower is to its customers. We are literally paying for a lease and the regular cost of electricity. This is absolutely unacceptable and SunPower should be held accountable!

The company has not responded to my request for support and I have not been receiving data on my company provided app for almost 3 months. I have tried to contact the company numerous times. It took well over a month just for us to figure out how to make a payment to this company. Our last DWP Bill shows that the solar panels are not producing any solar electricity even though we are still actively paying our bills. This has been going on since the middle of September. We have been customers for 5 years and never had any problems up until the last 3 months.Below it asks for desired settlement. I would like to speak to somebody from technical support and I would like to have my system back up and running and communicating. I like to have proof that my solar panels are producing solar electricity. I also like to have credit for the last two and a half three months since it does not look like I've been receiving service.

On July 10, 2023, I entered into a lease agreement with SunPower for solar panel installation. Unfortunately, during the process, the installation team accessed my attic, resulting in significant damage to the ceilings in my office and bedroom.Initially, we noticed cracks, prompting my husband to contact our representative, *****. Despite our efforts, the situation escalated, and the ceiling ultimately collapsed, damaging items in my office, including a ceiling fan, computer, printer, desk, and flooring. Thankfully, I wasn't in the office at the time.We contacted SunPower for repairs and replacements and received approval. However, our hopes were dashed when we learned that SunPower had filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy, and since then, we have made little progress in resolving the ongoing damage and compensation issues.

In October 2023, I bought a new home in Hanford, California, which came with a built-in solar system from SunPower Corporation. I signed a lease agreement with SunPower for the solar panels and have consistently made my monthly payments on time. However, in June 2024, I received a notification that one or more of my solar panels were malfunctioning. When I logged into the SunPower website, I saw the same notification (attached photos).

I promptly called SunPower and spoke to a representative who informed me that the company had gone bankrupt and could no longer assist me. Since then, I have attempted to reach out to SunPower via email and their customer messaging portal on their website, but I have yet to receive a response. I can provide documentation of these attempts.

My solar system has been inoperable for five months while I have been making payments for a system that is not functioning. When I initially signed the lease, SunPower stated that if the system stopped working, I would be prorated until they could repair it. Despite numerous attempts over the past five months, including via email and phone, I have yet to receive any acknowledgment or resolution to my issue.

Now, when I call SunPower, I am informed that no one can answer the phone and that I should try again later. This is my final attempt before I am forced to cancel my automatic payments and pursue legal action.

I understand that SunPower has gone bankrupt, but I am still paying for a system that is not functioning, which is unacceptable. I have attached photos of the notices and my most recent billing statement for your reference.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

      Very Respectfully,
      Jack B***

SunPower has filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and they will not send anyone out to repair my system. I've been in contact with them about a system repair since July 2024 prior to them filing bankruptcy. My system has been operating at 50% capacity and they expect me to continue to pay my monthly lease in full and be patient. I've spent over $1,000 in electricity with APS due to my panels not working during the hottest months of the year. I'm looking to get my system repaired and money paid back to me for the system not operating at the contracted ***.
