Deceptive pricing at best. No idea I was signing up for continuous billing even though I wasn't using the service.

Our Billing Terms are conspicuously explained on our registration page and in our Terms of Use. Customers are sent a confirmation email for any orders placed on the site.We have cancelled all memberships and refunded this account back to the payment option used to enroll, and no further charges will be incurred. I found great information on other background check websites (more than one) and I wanted to get more info so I signed up with Instant Checkmate. I found that even the information that was on the other similar services was not there on Instant Checkmate, and their entire report is filled with STUPID fillers, like all the neighbors name who are not the target. Just names and their homes. They did not have 10% of the information that was available on the other similar website!!Instant Checkmate

My credit report indicated my e-mail address and information had been compromised in a security breach to InstantCheckmate.com. InstantCheckmate did not notify its customer of such a breach and found that to be unprofessional and questionable that they are selling information to third parties.Instant Checkmate

If a user completes their initial search inquiry but does NOT enter their payment information, they will not be charged and no membership will be created.In the event of proclaimed fraud, Instant Checkmate requests the billed recipient contact us first to ensure the account in question is thoroughly investigated. When this claim can be justifiably substantiated, the account in question is disabled from further use, all memberships to be cancelled, and all charges to be returned to the payment option used (up to 12 months due to system limitations).Please be advised that **** has made changes to their purchase return authorization process. We have tried to authorize a refund on your account. Unfortunately, **** is not authorizing a full refund because of a flag they have placed on your account. Was looking for information on a deceased relative. I did not find the information available all that helpful. I also didn't realize that by purchasing access to the available information, I was purchasing a subscription. Totally my fault, however, that detail should have been better explained on the website.Instant Checkmate
