Terrible experience at the Vetco location on River Road in ******.I have two dogs. One I took to Vetco last year for vaccinations, and the other is a recent rescue, so she is current on all her vaccinations. In Vetco's record, they saw my older dog's history from last year and apparently discovered he wasn't due for most vaccinations either. However, Vetco charged me twice for the "Healthy Dog Plus" package ($109 Each) when neither dog needed vaccinations; they ONLY needed heartworm tests so I could get a new prescription for Simperica, and my older dog additionally needed Bordatella. The Healthy Dog Plus package includes Distemper/Parvo Combo, Bordetella, Leptospirosis (Optional), Round/Hook Dewormer, and Heartworm Test. The clinic gave my rescue dog a FULL set of vaccinations that she DID NOT NEED. And then charged me for them. AND charged me full price for the full package for the other dog even though he ONLY got a heartworm test and Bordatella. They did not give EITHER of my dogs the Leptospirosis vaccination, even though this is the only one that both of them NEEDED and I paid for.We discussed services before the visit on the phone, and before the services began. However, the cost was never discussed. I was slammed with sticker shock following all services because they charged me for complete packages my dogs did not need, and I did not agree to. I called for help and was told by the customer service representative that there was literally nothing they could do, and I should send an email, and "the internal team" will get back to me. Now, I logged into my account, and one of the dog's heartworm prescriptions has not been added, and when I contacted customer service, they sent me on another roundabout ride to contact someone else because there was nothing *they* could do. So, the ENTIRE reason for my visit is obsolete hundreds of dollars later.

I will never use again. First they cancelled an appointment at the last minute for a dog that needed his second inoculation in a series (otherwise not effective long term). They had scheduled the appointment and refused to set up another appointment for me and also suggested I try another PETCO location an hour away. Offered a piddly discount. So the money for the first as well as protection went down the drain. Then I needed to get an actual prescription records for my 2 dogs so I could go to ****** to get needed meds for Heartworm and fleas. I made an appointment, told the csr that called, then went down to the store to get it. Note I had a copy of an emailed version in hand, but pharmacists will not accept signature unless in ink. The ting they emailed to me said I could go to another pharmacy. When I got there they said they did have a printer so could not give me a prescription. The woman was definitely lying to me since I saw other people walk out with printed papers (Bill) in hand. Now I have to go to another vet with my 2 dogs and get tests for heartworm and shots done again. So this has been an expensive learning experience that no one should go through.

USELESS customer ****************************** made an error in my pets medical records, indicating that a vaccine was not given when it had been. The customer service stated that they could not adjust the error because they were not medically trained and had no way to contact the clinic to adjust the error. This is ADMINISTRATIVE and should be clarified with phone calls by VETCO customer service staff. They said that I would have to return to the clinic to get the error corrected and that they could only make an appointment for me at another mobile clinic date. They gave me a "supervisor" call back who did nothing to rectify the situation and refused to allow me to speak with a supervisor repeating that I had to go back to the clinic to clarify the error myself in person. Who has time for cleaning up a supposedly professional business' mistake for them?

Absolute rip-off! It cost me $83 to get my dog his rabies and distemper/parvovirus shot. The exam consisted of the vet looking in my dogs eats, listening to his heart for about five seconds and the the vaccines. Totally ridiculous for a clinic. It was $50 more than what my vet would have charged me. Horrible.

I rescued a puppy and decided since she already had some of her shots at our local Petco I might as well go to them…big mistake. I was given heart worm medication for 25-50 lb dog. My puppy is only 15 lbs. Imagine if I didn’t read the fine print on the back of the box (front was covered with prescription sticker). I called the “customer service” number and was greeted with a representative that honestly sounded like she didn’t want to help at all. I guess they are going to send us a check for the amount we paid for the heart worm medication. No confirmation of that. And who knows how long it will take. Now we are out $50 and have to wait another two weeks to get the right dose.

I understand mistakes happen but reading other reviews I see this is a normal occurrence. A pet is going to get seriously hurt or even die from the lack of knowledge from your staff! Also, in this economy another $50 spent until we get a check in the mail is a big set back. That could go towards so many other household needs. Just because someone didn’t double check their work? Another thing! I called to make sure my appointments were actually all set because the link provided didn’t show them. Since my dog needs to go back again because of the mix up, Customer service couldn’t help me other than here’s the same link I don’t know what to tell you. Not impressed. I thought signing up for vital care premier would be a benefit but so far it hasn’t benefited me at all.

This place is horrible I have been waiting for my dogs prescription to be verified for two weeks. No one wants to help I have placed several calls to have them verify my script that they did blood work and wrote for the pills for my dog and nothing. I cant even speak to a manager to get help. Its always we can have someone call you in 24 hrs yet nothing. I will never use them again and if you give a s*** about your pet you shouldnt also.

We have confirmed that we have not received any pending pharmacy orders for this pet through PetMeds.

If the guest still wishes to continue to order through Pet Meds, we advise that they directly contact 1-800-PetMeds to confirm that their pharmacy request was official placed in the Portal. This is something that PedMeds can only affirm directly with the Pet Parent.

Once the order has been received through the Pharmacy of their choice, it then takes 2 business days for approval or denial.

We apologize for any potential miscommunication.

I went to the vaccine clinic at the petco in College Point, Queens, to get my kitten his last 3 in 1 RCP shot. The woman at check in, told me that he would need his rabies shot too, but not until 2 weeks from now. He is still too young *** is 14 weeks old now). She made me pay in advance for the rabies shot because she said it is mandatory that he gets it, when he turns 16 weeks old. Why do I have to pay in advance for something that he is not ready to get yet? I would've just gone back there in the 2 weeks and paid the separate fee for the rabies shot. Not just that, she weighed him, without taking him out of his pet carrier. They also make it hard to get your money back. You have to go through the company themselves to get it back, which takes a long process and is very convenient for them. They don't care about the customer. Since I was forced to pay for the shot in advance, I will let them give it to him. After that, I am done with them. Jumping the gun and making people pay in advance for a shot that is not needed yet, is not being honest or caring.

We thank this guest for taking the time to provide honest feedback on their recent visit. We are sorry we did not meet their expectations.

Weighing cats in the carrier is an effective method to accurately gather the weight and is also used as a safety precaution for cats.
Our Clinic Team utilizes a mathematical equation in these instances to calculate the pets
      accurate weight.

Awful. They don’t care about animals or the loving humans that care for them. They are a disgusting business and I will never give them a penny.

We had to go back for the second round of vaccines. The girl that checked us in was extremely rude to us but didnt seem to be that way to anyone else. (I have a feeling I know why) the only plus side is the people on the actual clinic were nicer than the first time to my dog. This was our first time using vetco clinic and will absolutely be our last. And not to mention is was equally as expensive as using a vet. This costed us $300 for vaccines! I think when I got his shots the first time his vet was actually cheaper. I would stay far away from vetco clinics and just take your pets to their vet.

We apologize for any miscommunication and for the experience.

Our records show that a $119 Healthy Dog Vaccine Package
with a $25.00 Rabies add-on was purchased at the 02-05-23.
In addition to vaccine package, a 6 month supply of Heartworm prevention was also purchased at previous Vetco Visit.

The cost of boosters are not included in the Vaccine Package price (This is notated on our website and on the Visit Summary) which is why you were charged at the 03-05-23 appointment for the 6-in-1 Vaccine booster.
We appreciate the honest feedback from this guest as it helps us continue to grow.

The heart guard we were pressured into buying. And we were not informed about having to pay for the second dose as we made the appointment over the phone. No one had told us about any pricing information. So yes, after everything was said and done we paid over $300. Regardless of what we paid it does not negate the fact of how we were treated by your employees and how the vetco clinicians handled my dog. They acted like we did not know how to care for him and were very disrespectful to my husband and I. The girl who checked us in is a whole other story because she was rude both times we visited. The word racisist is the only word that comes to mind because she seemed very pleasant to everyone else. And that is not a term I use unless I need to. I will never bring my business back to another Petco especially the one in Plymouth after my experience.
