  Checkr was not able to "verify" my social security number for a background check. They refuse to do anything further, which is preventing me from gainful employment, and causing financial harm. I can easily verify my identity by a ****** search, yet they are unable to do so when this is their business.

  I keep getting emails from this company every other day about a job for Doordash that I have never even applied for. I have tried calling but no one ever answers the phone. I would like to know how they got my information and why the keep running my information for a job that I never applied for.

  Much like others have mentioned. They sit on background checks for months. Horrendous service! Multiple times, I've gotten the run around. Just so they don't have to take accountability for their actions. Hopefully the companies that use their service will learn from their mistakes and choose a different company. In the meantime I have to accept loosing hundreds of dollars a month. ?????? Needless to say, I am NOT pleased!

  Yep. Terrable company. I was applying for a job. They didnt send the email from them when they stated they would. But apon having it resent it was a giant long add for weightloss. I double checked the sender. And the subject line. Not a single link for any type of back ground check. Super bizar. Let the company know. And a day later the proper link was sent. If i could upload the screen shot of the email here i would - when i say long. It would equal about 3 pages.

  Ive been waiting for a background check for over 5 months every time I call it takes 2 hrs to be answered and Ive been hung up on every time within 1 min of talking this company is a joke and should be sued. I havent been able to work for over 6 months due to this company they say 3-7 days for a background check. More like 3-7 months

  We apologize for any inconvenience you may be experiencing. The process has been affected by the new clean slate law recently implemented in Michigan. As a result, various courts in the state have either restricted public access to criminal records or limited the number of searchable years to comply with the law.
  
  
  Checkr continues to work with ******** courts to improve turnaround time in affected ******** counties. We're also gathering information via phone and in-person court visits to determine when record access will return to normal for particularly impacted courthouses.
  
  
  Here are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about ******** county delays:
  
  
  How is the new clean slate law causing the delay in my report getting completed?
  With the ******** clean slate law going into effect, courts need to process all records to remove eligible charges. However, due to the length of lookback periods - how far back in time companies are requesting records - not all courts are able to provide the requested records yet. 
  
  
  When will my report be completed?
  Different counties and their respective circuit and district courts are updating their records at different rates. Our ETAs are always being updated as we get more information from the courts, but they are dependent on the status being provided by the courts themselves, which are constantly changing.
  
  
  When I call the court, why do they tell me that there are no delays?
  There are two courts in each county, a circuit and a district, each containing different types of cases. To conduct a comprehensive search, Checkr must obtain requested records from both courts. A court can report they are not delayed, but this only applies to cases going back to a certain time. If the lookback period requested by the company you applied with is beyond this time, delays can still occur. Both of these reasons may result in delays to the completion of the background check, even if the court reports there are no delays.
  
  
  Why is a search being requested from ******** if I have never lived there?
  Our research identifies potential addresses that are associated with your personal identifiable information (PII), not necessarily just addresses where youve lived. For example, it can include counties where youve applied for loans or received mail. The address history is used to determine which counties and other databases must be searched for potential public records. We obtain address histories from various sources including credit and banking history. Although we may not locate any records from a particular county, we will research any potential matches. 
  
  
  Why was the report for one company completed, but the other companys report remains pending?
  Different companies have different requirements including how far back in time to request records. If you have any questions about their lookback period, please contact the company you applied with. 
  
  
  Can I request a background check report from the Police Department?
  Checkr is unable to accept results from ICHAT (************** Polices Internet Criminal History Access Tool). As stated on the website itself, reports obtained by this service may not be accepted by all organizations as it may miss critical records.
  
  
  Can I obtain the information from the courts and provide it to you? 
  For compliance reasons, we are unable to accept search results/records directly from you. Checkr, as well as other background check providers, are affected by the courts limitations. The researchers we work with are professional researchers or record providers utilized by Checkr.

  Background check started Aug 18, the standard is 3-5 day period. Today is September 11, and still not complete. Practically a entire month of not being able to work with no update other then pending. I am TSA approved, can't hold a criminal history with that...Just want them to do their Job efficiently so I can get back to work and pay my bills

  We've looked up your report and it's in the final stage of completing county searches. The *** given to ** by our providers was of 9/11/23. We cannot guarantee when a report will complete. While most reports do complete in 3 to 7 business days, some can take longer depending on the counties and courts being searched.
    
  What happens next? We don't need anything else at this time. The party you applied with will be able to access your report once it's complete. Please keep in mind that Checkr does not make any hiring decisions. The party you applied with will make their own determination based on their own requirements and review of your report.

  Should be a zero star not a 1. I started a background check back on 8/23/23 here it is now 9/8 and background still not complete. As of this morning 9/8 Checkr has updated for a completion of 10/23. Thats two months. Unacceptable this is the second time a company that I wanted to work for that this has taken over two months. The last one was Uber. I call and speak to a rep and they say its in the final stages as we wait for a response from the clerk Im sorry final stages is putting the report together not waiting on info. If possible dont use this company.

  Checkr reported that my drivers license was invalid. I sent a copy of my driver's license report, from DMV to **********************. ********************** still has not cleared up the false report that they sent to my employer. Checkr is very slow and have no live agents to help resolve issues. The chat bot is useless by the way.

  To Whom It May ********* am writing to file a complaint against Checkr. My experience has been frustrating and concerning, prompting me to bring this to your attention.Checkr is providing outdated background info, selling gray area data on misdemeanors, long over a decade old. Numerous individuals, including myself, have faced old parking tickets and resolved minor misdemeanors.Checkr's refusal to rectify this situation is alarming. This raises ethical and legal concerns.Checkr's lack of concern is astonishing. My attempts to communicate have been met with arrogance. I sought legal help to resolve this.This situation warrants an investigation. Selling misleading info damages reputation, borders on blackmail.Please investigate and hold Checkr accountable. Shedding light on this issue can protect others from its practices.Thank you for your attention.

  Horrible company I had reported something as inaccurate even submitted the documents , it took one day to run the background check and its going on 3 weeks since I submitted a dispute for them to put correct info , there is no way at all to get in contact with an agent or anyone I sat on the phone for 3 hours only to be told they arent currently taking calls on the phone there is nobody to help besides a bot that is useless
