Ive had this yahoo email for 20+ years. I no longer have access to the phone number associated with the account. Its ridiculous that I would have to pay to gain access back to the account or talk to customer service. I have a lot of personal information in that account. I need access immediatelyBusiness Response

I have an email account through ********************** I have had for a numerous amount of years with the same password. Somehow, my password was changed and I am unable to get into my email for the past two weeks. I called today and was told there was a fee for a plan I would be charged for just to regain access to my account. I was hesitant, but at the same time desperate to regain access to my email so I agreed to their verification process. After I uploaded my California drivers license and took a live picture of myself. I was denied access to my email account and ** *********************** agent), told me to call back and try the verification process again through intellicheck.Business Response

Yahoo currently is holding my email account of 14 years hostage unless I contact their useless premium customer care and give them 5 bucks, which is absolutely unethical and unacceptable. The recovery email it keeps sending messages to is long gone and also inaccessible. I have my banking info attached to that email, and have had every intent of moving it to a different service. None of their "free" answers solve my issue, I need this email back up and recovered ASAP!Business Response

I have been locked out of my email account for no reason. I did not change my password but it is reading as incorrect. I dont have a phone number as a back up, only my old college email that I do not have access to any more. The only option left was to call customer support. They are supposed to verify my ID to confirm my identity, and every single time the verification process fails with no other way to rectify the situation. I have attempted this verification with my GOVERNMENT ISSUED IDENTIFICATION CARD and they basically claim they cant say its me. Ive given my social, date of birth, full name, pictures, everything they asked for about a dozen times. Ive reached out to several supervisors and they literally told me theres nothing to do, even though its obviously their verification system that is obviously broken. All I want to do is get into my email, or at least add my phone number or a new back up email. Ive had this email for 20 years and I have a lot of important information and account connected to it. Considering yahoo just took it upon themselves to decide my password didnt work anymore, without any prompting of a password change (I have not changed my password), I just need someone to fix this. I can not be locked out of my email forever.Business Response

I lost my phone and had my Yahoo recovery on MS ************** Apparently I didn't have it backed up or on any other device so now I can't access it to log into Yahoo. I called twice today because they hung up on me the first time without finishing and both times they keep told me I have to have a subscription service just to get their help just to regain access to my account. Seriously? I am an IT pro myself and find this to be utterly ridiculous! Pay them just to give me access to MY account? My account is ****************************************** sad thing is that on the devices I have still logged in to my account I can get my emails but that makes no difference to them. I can send and receive emails, even see all my emails, but I cannot use that access to get into my main Yahoo account.Business Response

This has been reported dozens of times and I'll also be added to that number. I tried logging in to my Yahoo account but cannot open it due to having it locked behind 2 factor authentication. The problem is that my old phone that I used to confirm codes with no longer works, I've tried reaching out to the company itself to confirm my identity several ways and I STILL wasn't able to get access to my account by any means, this would be easier if they would just use security questions as part of the confirmation process but of course common sense is a super power these days. There's so many important emails that I need from this specific account yet ********************** themselves don't seem to care enough to see the entire issue through, and all I want to do is turn off 2FA or at the VERY least be able to confirm my identity and ACTUALLY get results for handing out my information as requested.Business Response

I have had a yahoo account for over 15 years. When I try to log in the email that is on recovery isnt my email. I try getting free assistance online to reset my account by entering my phone number and never receive a code even though my phone is working. The only option is to call them a pay for assistance with an agent who cant guarantee anything I feel like this is a scam. The free options dont work so you have to call to pay and get access to your emailBusiness Response

Have not been able to log into my first Yahoo email account. For some reason I have been locked out and there is no way to reset your password unless you call the premium customer care where you have to pay to regain access.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because the business wants to charge me to recover my account. An attempt was made by showing ID but it was declined and the agent who reached out was not moving forward with the problem. I can show proof that the email account is owned by me but looks like they want me to pay.
Sincerely,

To Whom It May Concern,I am filing this complaint with the Better Business Bureau regarding Yahoo.coms mishandling of my paid premium subscription.I have been a paying subscriber to Yahoos premium services for over a year. However, despite my active subscription, I was locked out of my account and unable to regain accessdespite multiple attempts to contact Yahoo ***********, it appears that my account has been deleted without any notice or authorization. I was given no warning, no explanation, and no resolution. Yet, Yahoo has continued to charge me for a service I am completely unable to use. This constitutes unauthorized billing and a serious breach of consumer trust.I am requesting the following actions:1.A full investigation into the deletion of my *********** complete refund for all charges incurred during the period I was denied access.3.Written confirmation that no further charges will be made to my *********** formal explanation for the deletion of my account and whether it can be restored. If this matter is not resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner, I am prepared to escalate it through my financial institution and pursue further action through consumer protection channels.I hope to see this issue resolved quickly and professionally. The email name is ******************************************** Sincerely,****** M ******** ************************** ************Business Response
