I am seeking help with my main email account **************************************** I am unable to access although i have the username and password of my account. It quit working about 4-6 weeks ago. I have been using Yahoo for many years and this user and password for over a year. I had been using ************************************ for over 10 years and had issues with my password not working so that's when I set up the new account and user name and password. When I try to sign in I can't and in order to sign in I have to call and pay a fee. I looked up Yahoo online and they have a big sign that reads "Yahoo does not charge a fee and if someone is trying to charge it is a scam. Then I had to get a new cell phone and my number did not transfer over to the new mobile number on the account. It used to be the security word was my mother's maiden name and the city where I was born but none of that information was asked for. I am so upset over this because of my age and health. I am a disabled veteran 86 years old and no one can get in touch with me now, doctor ******* medical facilities, finances, and business individuals. I have gone into their chat and I am told they can't help me. I have to call the number and pay . Please request the company to contact me directly at the earliest to resolve the issue so i can secure my account and can respond to critical emails that are pending on the account . I would like to change my provider but I need to get into my account to get all my information that is locked up so I can make the transfer. Thanks in advance for your help with this. I had filed a complaint Friday or Saturday but when I went into verify in the email. I clicked on Verify and I got error code 500 and it told me to try again. It would not work. Unable to recover dead father's old yahoo email containing *************** and contact information. Yahoo insisted they are only able to delete the account. Distant relatives emails were stored in their account and now we do not know any addresses nor contact information to send their remains to. Why? We were loyal users for years before this. Person died in 2019 and no one has knowledge of their password. *************************************Business Response

I lost password and all the existing recovery access to my email address which is : ******************************************** is my own email address which I do have it for more than a decade now but since I lost my phone , I lost all the access to my email addresses and everything as well.I kindly contacted yahoo email customer service and ask them to verify my account and send me one time password code to my new gmail account which is : ************************* , however since I am not a US citizen they deny to further help me with the account and claim that they can not verify if I am the owner of it or not and they can only provide this service to US citizen, which is very unfair as we other people across the globe also are using their service and they have to be able to help people like me during this difficult time.that is why I came here fo fill the complaint against their service to not bother themselves in order to find a way of helping to other nations beside the US ones.all I am asking is to send me one time password code to my new gmail account so that I will be able to have access to all the valuable information I have on that old yahoo account.please yahoo company help me with regain the access to my yahoo email account : ********************** in any other way than just exiting recovery tools which are already attached to that email and I have no access to them following the lost of my phone.thanksBusiness Response

I was auto-signed out of my Yahoo and although I knew my password and the answers to the security questions I used to set up this account I was forced to either use an old cell phone number or an old email to verify my identity, both of which could no longer be accessed. The company then forces you to sign up for either a ***** Yahoo + subscription, a $4.99 Yahoo + subscription or you can pay a one-time fee of $9.99 to access your account. How is this ethical??! I paid the cheapest option of $4.99 after never getting any clarification about these applicable fees and being forced to agree to allow my information to be shared with third parties just to access my email. If I had not had my Etsy downloads that I already paid for in this email awaiting to be accessed I would have never paid the money. This is a scam and a rip-off to users. My phone number was just changed as well. But because it auto-signs you out every time which my Gmail never does on my personal laptop, I could not even update my phone number in the email before having to be forced to pay these funds to access MY INFORMATION.Business Response

Yahoo deleted all my emails. Yahoo stated my email was inactive but this is not true I was just accessing this email account recently. Further, another account **************************************** is taken off my sign in Yahoo accounts list to sign into. Further code to phone does not arrive. I am rejecting this response because: Yahoo has said they have deactivated my account but do not provide any details of terms violated let along prove it. I have had the account for several years and suddenly they say that i have violated the terms and cannot offer any assistance. So what was happening for 10 years when i was using the account. This is extremely bad business practice and the company is just blocking genuine accounts by hiding behind their terms of service as evident from ****s of complaints on BBB and other forums
