My email ****************************** was hacked, they changed my password, phone number, back up email, and turned on 2FA so I can't access my account. They also hacked my ebay account. Ebay will only send info to get into the account on file. Since they changed both, i can't get into either. I need my email to get into my ebay account.Business Response

Yahoo locked me out of my account and is not allowing me to change password with info I had on file unless I pay for the help service. To clarify I am not able to update or log into my account after trying to reset my password. I have the recovery emails and phone number on file to do so. I am not able to recover my account that I have had for years which is tied to other services unless I sign up for their help service and there are no alternate ways including simple email or help ticket to fix the issue. I am extremely upset and floored that this is allowed. To hold my email account hostage is criminal and will never be forgotten. This will be a stain on yahoo reputation, and I will never see them the same way again. How shameless. For those that see this I urge you to recheck your accounts with yahoo.Business Response

Trying to recover an old email with yahoo for a specific account and I notice that the recovery email does not belong to me and it looks like someone has taken over my account and I am worried about how much of my data they have. I was willing to pay for their customer service even but after being routed to a few different phone numbers I've been told by the rep there is no service available in my location which is Canada and the email was created in India. The chat support just redirects me to the phone support who cannot help me because of region and there is no email support or any other form of support. So now I'm sitting here while someone clearly has access to my account and data without being able to do anything....Business Response

My roommate attempted to contact customer support for assistance in accessing his account. He recently broke his phone which had his saved account information and can no longer access the contents of his phone. With the two step authentication he also can't access the backup email because that account information was also in the phone unable to be recovered.
When calling yahoo support he spoke to ****** and he had him go through the entire process for proving his identity and then gave his whole rehearsed speech about charging him 12.99 to unlock his account.
First off, why am I being charged for simple customer service?! And for such a basic, common issue? No wonder everyone recommends you only use Gmail these days.
When simply questioning why he was being charged, this support member decided to speak to my roommate as if he were a child. Or an idiot. My roommate then asked to speak to a manager or supervisor and ****** refused to transfer him. He continued to argue with my roommate, speaking over him and telling him he would no longer assist him.
How can you run a business this poorly?Business Response

Hello,
I am having problems getting a refund for my Yahoo account and I am reaching out to anyone that can help or point me in the right direction. Customer Service has bad information, but I have the emails from Yahoo that shows the start and end dates of the subscription and the amount that I paid. I cancelled the subscription before the 30 days and I still can't get my money back from Yahoo. I have now been on the phone waiting for a supervisor and talking to ***** for over 1/12 hours so far.
I feel like I am dealing with a scam company. I have the email confirmations from Yahoo, but your representatives gave me 2 different excuses as to why they won't refund my money. The first excuse was that I cancelled my subscription in August which is not true. The second excuse was we can't refund my money because I called in an said I wanted to continue my subscription, and that's an absolute lie. I don't understand why I have to go through all of this for my money. I don't know why your representatives don't have copies of the emails that Yahoo sent to me, but they should have them.
***** told me I will get a call within 24 hours and I told her that I didn't believe that. I can't believe it because I've had other Yahoo representative tell me that someone/supervisor will call me back and they NEVER do. Below is my information from the confirmation email that Yahoo sent to me and attached is a screenshot of my phone to show you how long I've been on the phone with Yahoo. This is outrageous and terrible service for Yahoo.

Hello, I tried to log into my Yahoo Mail account a couple of weeks ago, but I was unableto gain access to the account and forgot the password. This has basically been my primary account. What's important is that I am currently seeking employment and this is the email address that I have on my resume. After trying to get into my account, I began to get the following message: "If you have access to this phone, please verify the missing digits." Unfortunately, I no longer have access to the mobile number in question, so I would not be able to receive any of the security codes sent to it. I have changed numbers since I last entered this 2FA security information and do not have the phone, therefore; I need to verify my identity another way. When I phoned Yahoo support I was met with a sales pitch for an unreasonable amount and told that I had to subscribe to a year-long plan or pay a one-time fee of $10.00 which is Highway Robbery. I tried to resolve this issue via Yahoo Chat. The Robot was responding as if simply following a script, the responses didn't coincide with my concerns. I really feel as if my account has been taken hostage and they are just trying to get me to pay these ridiculous fees. There are many complaints here on******** and other websites saying that their accounts are being held hostage behind premium support services. Troubling, as almost all email providers offer free support when it comes to simple issues like account recovery. I honestly can't believe I have been forced to go to these lengths to retrieve my Yahoo account. I have never had to go to these lengths with Google or Outlook. The email address in question is ************************. I pray for mercy and actual help. I am suffering from a lot right now, paying fees to recover my email is not a debt that I should be tasked with. I sincerely hope to resolve this issue quickly.
Sincerely yours,
****************Business Response

As with several other Yahoo mail customer complaints, many years ago, I upgraded to Yahoo Mail Plus at a price of $34.99 a year. On 8/18/2022, I received a notice from Yahoo stating that I "agreed to change" from Yahoo Mail Plus to Yahoo Mail Plus, which is highly incorrect, and that I would now be billed $5.00 a month for the service. I did not agree to this optional price increase. I have been in contact with customer service about this issue. Customer service says that I received an email that would have allowed me to retain the "grandfathered" pricing, but did not act on it. I have checked back through the Yahoo Mail Plus system and cannot find such an email, and thus could not have blocked the price increase. Pld reinstate my Yahoo Mail Plus at the price I've been paying - $34.99 a year.
Desired Outcome:
Reinstate my Yahoo Mail Plus price of $34.99 a year.Business Response

I bought an expensive item from EBay and because I was in the hospital I opened it after the thirty days. When I did it was broken in several places. It was over $229.00! The buyer closed out my complaint and they won't even listen to me!Business Response

I recently applied for a loan through Credit Karma and all my loan docs were sent to my onld yahoo (ymail) account. When trying to recover my account I contacted Yahoo and they informed me they would not assist in unlocking and resetting my account after validating i was the owner unless I paid for their premium phone support program which is a third party.Business Response
